  1. It is important because we could not have been redeemed to God any other way. It was only through Christ's death that we have been saved, made righteous. Became God's sons and daughters again. It was only the Lamb of God that could do that. No other sacrifice had that kind of power. I think we would be lost if we did not remember what Christ did for us on the Cross. I think our belief system would be deminished to what all the other religions that believe in God and not Christ are. It would be a sin not to do this, as it was commanded that we do it in rememberance of Jesus. Personally, I think it leaves us incomplete. A feeling of disobedience and sinfulness. I say this because I was in a church that was not doing this. It was a fairly new church with not much money. I would go to another church to take communion because I just had to follow this command of Christ. I stayed on this new church and finally they started giving communion.
  2. The Passover meal was a commemrative of when they were brought out of Egypt. It was in rememberance of when the LORD killed all the first born in Egypt, but passed over the houses marked with the lambs blood. Thereby saving the first born of the Jewish people. It was repeated so that they would always remember what the LORD did for them. How He took them out of Egypt. And to look forward to the coming of the Messiah Just as in the past when the Jewish people stopped doing what the LORD commanded they turn away from the LORD. If they did not keep this command they would probably have turned away, and also if they did not keep this command the LORD would have been angry with them again.
  3. I can not say any one part of the Lords supper is more valuable than another. They are all equally valuable. Commanded by Jesus, we do it in rememberance of what He did for us on the cross. That we NEVER forget.
  4. All things repeated over and over can become mundane. The LORD's Supper can do the same. However, if we are talking it as we should, in rememberance of Jesus death, if we come humbly and reverantly to partake always remembering why we are doing this, then I think it could never be mundane. It should continually bring joy. This is the only way we could have been made righteous, by Jesus becoming sin and dieing for us. This is why he commanded us to do it continually, that we never forget His sacrifice.
  5. Poured out, broken, and i also believe given should be added. Jesus did not have to do this for us, He did it because He loves us so much, that He was willing to give His life for us
  6. Though I do believe the elements of communion are symbolic, it does not make them anyless sacred. The danger of taking it to the extreme such as saying "mere symbolism" is it takes the emphasis off why we are doing this. Jesus commanded us to in rememberance of Him. Jesus made them sacred. This is what we must remember, why we take communion, and not focus on the fact that they are a symbol of His body and blood. We should be focusing on the meaning of the communion.
  7. Jesus gave this command while He was still alive. He had not yet gone to the cross. Therefore, for me, this is figurative. It does not make it any less sacred, or humbling. I always pray that I am worthy to take His body and His blood. When partaking the communion I think of what He did for me. He washed me in His blood, He died that I might live. He became sin and paid the price so I could have eternal life.
  8. The Lord will bring such great peace and joy. There will no longer be hate and strife, sickness, no more tears, the animals and man will live in unity none harming the other. We will have such joy and peace as mankind has never know since Adam and Eve were put out of the garden. I believe the peace will be like they had in the beginning.
  9. Gideon was afraid and hiding from the medianites. The Angel of the LORD came to him and brought him peace. God told him not to be afraid the he was with him. He called him a mighty warrior. Made him know that he would live and not die. Gideon found much comfort in this and went on to win battles.
  10. Save, keep, rescue, put aside, Savior, redeemer, JESUS Rescues one from circumstances that they have no control over, and no way out. Just as Jesus was the only one that could die on the cross, and save us from our sins. He was the only sacrifice that was pure and holy enough to pay the price. Other than Jesus there was no way out.
  11. They were to redeem them, buy back thier property, get them out of bondage, rescue them from prision, take care of each other. Jesus is our redemption, He died on the cross, became sin to pay for our sins, recounseled us to GOD. God loves us as His own. We are His children a part of His family. God gave His only Son for us, to Him we are worth all that it takes to save us and bring us to Him.
  12. God's grace is all over my family. All our needs are met all the time, no matter the circumstances. He has forgiven our sins, as we are all saved, Praise the LORD. We are all born into sin, and the flesh is sinful in nature. Without the Grace of God there would be no salvation, it is by God's Grace and Mercy that He sent His son to die on the cross and save us. It is by His Grace that we are enabled, strengthed to walk in His Will.
  13. God's love in the old testament is the same as His love in the New Testament. God's love is unchanging. He gave His only begotten Son to save us because of the love He has for us. It is the same love he had for us before. Because we could never be completely saved from sin through sacrifice of animals, God shows how very much he loves us through His ultimate sacrifice of His only begotten son.
  14. To be faithful means to be steadfast constant, it has everything to do with keeping your word. You can not be faithful and be a lier at the same time. I know that my God is faithful, that He cannot lie. It lets me know that what is in the Word is true, that I can count on it. If He said it I believe it. Faithfulness in His children is what God wants. We are made in His image, Jesus resides in us. Therefore, we can be no less than faithful. If we are not we are liers.
  15. Israel needed God to lead, guide and protect them, to provide for their needs. They needed and depended on God for everything. Yes they were contrite. God forgive us no matter what, even when Israel turned to idol worship God forgave them. God can not tolerate sin and that He loves us so much He forgives all sin when we repent is amazing.
  16. We miss the protection and rulership of GOD the Father if we remove the metaphor of Father and Son. God can not be put into our society like he is just another person. God is so much more than that. HE is our Father, and just because some female wants to be equal to God and change this truth does not make it so. However, it is a harmful practice, especially for the new Christian. I believe all the feminine metaphonrs help us to understand God's nature. We are all made in His image, whether male or female. God's devine purpose in the way we are made, and the roles we each have is perfect. If it were to be the way the feminists say then God would have made it that way. And wouldn't the Bible be written differently.
  17. God loved and protected Isreal just as a husband love and protects his wife, and supports her. Isreal was to be submissive to God just as the wife is to be submissive to her husband. Isreal was to obey God and worship Him only, be true to Him. The New Testament specifically calls us his bride. The worship of idols causes God to be jealous.
  18. Jesus is God in the flesh, God incarnate. This means they are one, the same. Jesus is God's Son. God is Jesus' Father. This makes them distinct from one another. Jesus and God are the same, yet different. God sent Jesus that we might live, Jesus is God in the flesh, Jesus is the Word. Jesus is the Son, God is the Father yet they are one and the same 2 parts of the trinity.
  19. IT SEEMS IN THE OLD TESTAMENT THAT GOD WAS THEIR RULER, HE WAS LOVING YET HARSH, HE WAS THEIR KING AND UNACCESSABLE. THEY HAD TO GO THROUGHT THE PRIESTS AND COULD NOT GO DIRECTLY TO HIM. TODAY, AND SINCE JESUS, GOD HAS BECOME LOVING KIND OUR ABBA. HE STILL PUNISHES SIN, BUT WE CAN GO DIRECTLY TO HIM, HE HEARS OUR CRYS, HE HOLDS US IN TIME OF TROUBLE, HE TAKES CARE OF US. THERE IS NO ONE ON EARTH THAT LOVES US AS ABBA DOES.
  20. GOD IS OUR FATHER, HE RULES OVER US, TEACHES AND GUIDES US. HE PROTECTS US AND PROVIDES ALL OUR NEEDS. JUST AS OUR EARTHLY FATHER DOES. THIS IS BECAUSE HE LOVES US SO MUCH. HE MADE US, HE LOVES US, HE IS ABBA!
  21. IT TELLS ME HOW VERY MUCH HE LOVES ME. GOD IS THERE FOR ME, HE MEETS ALL MY NEEDS, HEALTH, FAMILY, FINANCIAL, AND THROUGH HIS SON HE GAVE ME EVERLASTING LIFE
  22. I believe we try to do things ourselves because we are flesh. The way most of us are raised, we need to be able to see, we need to be in control. We are unable to see what God is doing before it actually happens and we get scared the rent won't get paid, the lights will go out etc. Even our best efforts cannot produce the results we want. In the flesh we are not able. Yet we try. God does not require alot of us. He requires strong faith. We need to learn to give it to Him and leave it alone. He is never late, He is always on time. We need to learn to just trust GOD
  23. God is always my Shepherd. When I have strayed He never left me or forsaken me. He was always with me protecting me. That is not to say it was easy or that I didn't face trials, trouble. Only that He never let me be destryed. He always brought me back to the fold. He is my Shepherd in Blessings, as he guides me, teaches me, and protects me at all times, whether they are good or bad. Now I am 56 years old. God has me on a fast track. I am getting ready to go to Nigeria to ministry school. I have never been outside the United States, let alone to a country that has as much anti-christianism as Nigeria. The customs are different, from my understanding there are occult practices, devination, witches. I have no choice but to rely on God. Sure I could opt out, say no I won't go. But this is where God has led me, this is where He wants me to go.... I can do nothing else but to rely on Him and be obedient. Psalm 23 truely does apply to this new path the LORD has placed me on.
  24. No i do not believe Abraham thought God would supply another sacrifice. Abraham was told by God to sacrifice his son and this is what he intended to do. He was being obedient to God. Abraham had strong faith, Isaac was born of a barrin woman and his father was old. Abraham believed God when he told him he would be the father of nations. He knew this could not happen if his son Isaac was sacrificed. In his obedience to God, he knew God could raise his son from the dead. He knew God could not lie and His promise to Abraham would be fulfilled. The only condidition that we have to recieve from God is to believe on His Son, Jesus Christ, to ask for our needs and our wants, and believe that we have it. Then thank God for his provision. Strong faith is the requirement. We can expect God to provide for us in all circumstances.
  25. It means that God is our Protector, he keeps us in all things, finances, health, family. He gaurds us from evil. That is not to say we do not have to go through, it simply means He will take us safely, securely through what ever it is.
