  1. Q2. (Ephesians 1:9-10) What is the significance that all things will be brought under one head -- Christ himself? How does this relate to the Creator? What does it say about unity? Extra Credit: How does this verse relate to 1 Corinthians 15:24-28? I agree with our sister Patricia, I think that at this time God the Father, Christ the Son, and the Holy Spirit are the only true unity working to unfold God's iminant plan for us His church. We are destined to be one but as yet continue to find things to bicker about a pull away from becoming one church in Christ Jesus. At some time this will end and all will become subject to Jesus as He has givens us forknowledge in His word. Once everthing that the Father has given Him to do is perfected, put under His feet, then He will turn it all over to the Father and become again subject to the Father as we all are but then to give the true praise worthy only to the one tru God and Lord of All.
  2. Q1. (Ephesians 1:7) In what sense have you been "redeemed" from slavery? What do you think your life up to now would have been like if you hadn't been redeemed? What would your future be like without redemption, do you think? I believe that it's in a spiritual sense like Paul says in Romans:Ro 7:24 O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death? Ro 7:25 I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin. I even though I Have given my life to Christ I continue to struggle with the sinful flesh, desires, thoughts, not showing the love of Christ to those who offend me. I have been redeemed in my spirit by the spirit of Christ that has taken up residence in me. My life would have been far worse than it already is without the love of God to keep pushing and pulling me to him always remaining faithful even though I am un faithful. Jesus is always there loving me drawing me back. I would have no future the only future I have is the knowledge that I have a lovimg Father who gave His only Son that I might have life. As the song says I am a stranger here I am just passing through, I have a home over on those golden shores that God has prepared for me and all His servants to live and praise Him.
  3. Q4. (Ephesians 1:5-6) Why is adoption a particularly apt illustration of God's relationship to us? Why is the concept of adoption encouraging to us? It shows that no matter who or what we are that God loves us enough to give everything for us. In adoption you know all the faults and short comings of the child you are preparing to adopt unlike real birth where you accept the child born to you no questions asked. In adoption you have a chance to reject the one you are chosing, but through Jesus we are found faultless and chosen given all the privilages of the first born child we can be called the sons ofthe Most High and be members of the eternal faimly. It is encourging because again we are accepted with all our faults because Jesus suffered and died to cleanse us of that unrighteousness so that we can be children of God and accepted as Holy.
  4. Q3. (Ephesians 1:4) What does it mean to be "holy"? In what sense can you stand "blameless" before God? To be Holy is to be found faultless, with out sin. The only way I can stand before God blameless is through the blood of Jesus that cleanses me of all my faults. If I fore sake Jesus then God must judge me for my sins but with Jesus dieing for my sins He is becoming my advocate and finding me guiltless. g
  5. 2. (Ephesians 1:4-5) What is scary about predestination? What is comforting? Why does Paul bring up predestination? Why do you think he praising God for it in the "hearing" of the Ephesians? I think that the scary thing is that one might be like Judas who was chosen to be the only one of the disciples that was lost, the one of pardition. The comforting thing is that we were chosen by God before the begining of the world. He loves us first and chose us to be a part of the body of Christ. He gave the only Son to die for our sins knowing that we are a sinful people, but in love making a way out so that we will not be lost. He brought it up so that the Jews and Gentiles that were a part of the church at that time would know that they were a part of God's plan for the world, not just their small church. To show them that they are to be thankful for all things that God had given them. They should be praising God for all the ones to comeafter them. That they are to give God praise in good times and bad.
  6. Q1. (Ephesians 1:3) What does it mean to you to be "in Christ" -- incorporated into Christ? What are the implications of this for your life? That I am a child of God, I am given through faith all the spisitual blessings that God has preparedfor me. I am a vessel of the Holy Spirit tobe use as God has seen fit to use me. I am a spiritual part of the Body Of Christ abd to be use in Him to seek and save the lost. The implacations are emence they make be like Paul a slave to Christ and His good will for me I am held to the standardof doing for others first like Jesus taught the disciples.
