  1. Because of pride and selfishness. There cannot be salvation without repentance, because salvation to me is trying to live without sin. Yes, when I had to admit to my alcoholism and use of prescription drugs. It was difficult because my family had no idea that I was using either to the point where it would hurt me.
  2. Reminders are important for Christians so that we don't forget what Christ has in store for us, and what He did for us. I remind myself of God's promises every day when I awaken and say a prayer before I ever get out of bed. Also, by living my life as Christ would want me to live, and read His Word. I remind others by example and word, when appropriate. I always try and show my love and devotion to Jesus to others, as I would want to be treated in the same exact way.
  3. Because He does not want any of us to perish. That He is a loving and concerned God.
  4. Our culture avoids talking about death, I believe, because they are afraid of death and what it brings with it. If those that feel this way, would commit to the Lord, they would not feel this way. A tent is supposed to protect you from the elements, etc. If my earthly body was a tent it would free me from and protect me from all bad elements in life. I should keep on reminding you of these things as long as I live, he says. The Lord Jesus Christ has shown me that my days here on earth are numbered. I will work hard to make these things clear to you. I want you to remember them after I am gone.
  5. It should not be. We should love church members always. If we don't love them, they might be lost and that would not set well with me. I am for winning all people. We should not avoid Church because of hurts. If I avoided Church because of hurts, I would not be there very often. When someone hurts us in someway, we should, and I do, pray for them and go on our way. If we avoid Church for this reason, we cannot fully mature in Christ.
  6. A disciplined devotional life is important to me because if I did not discipline myself, I probably would not remember to remember I was a Christian and do the things a Christian would to and say. If I forget, which I try not to do, I am the loser and lose out on what Christ has for me. I don't find myself not taking time. That is most important to me. Self Control, self discipline, patience, godliness, genuine love.
  7. It shows me that I am a child of God, and that I am worthy enough to be called "by his own glory and goodness" His glory and awesome Presence makes me feel awesome and so very loved. His goodness and moral excellence makes me know that I can count on whatever He tells me to do, etc. If he is morally correct then I can be the same.
  8. We must grow in the knowledge of God. As we know Jesus better, His divine power gives us everything we need for living a godly life. He has called us to receive his own glory and goodness.
