  1. There is no way to understand God apart from understanding and accepting the truth of His perfect righteousness. AS we humble ourselves before Him, he reveals himself to us in all His purity and holiness. All we can do is immerse ourselves in Scripture, declare the Word of God with power as the Spirit leads and pray much.
  2. He is afraid for His life, for he believes that anyone who sees God will surely be put to death. And of course, wow, I am sure even God's very appearance frightened him when he first saw it since he had never seen anything like it in his whole life. It must have been awesome beyond words. God makes Isaiah holy by sending an angel to touch his lips with a live coal from off the altar. I'll bet he never forgot that again. I probably left a scar for life. It symbolized the holiness of God, and the cleansing of Isaiah's own body and life from sin in the eternal forgiveness of God. And set him apart from His service. He obediently responded: Here am I, send me." Oh, God that I might get just a glimpse of Your holiness and respond as obediently as he did. I have seen enough that I have not excuse now. " I believe. Help my unbelief."

  4. oops incomplete answer. We Christians are born in sin with a rebellious and hardened heart. Just as the clay we cannot speak and dare not deny our maker. Total compliance, obedience, and a soft and pliable heart before Him.
  5. Because it is impossible for an inanimate object to complain to its maker. And it is just a ridiculous for a believer to rebel against her Lord. And utterly unspeakable impossibility in any and every sense of the Word.
  6. David knew that He knew that God could go anything and was not afraid to tackle the giant. When we know who God really is, we are not afraid to tackle the enemies He allows across our paths. God is a fearsome and holy God and in His wrath against sin He is a consuming wrath. We do well to be on God's side and against His enemies. PTL, He has called me to Himself.
  7. God is letting Moses know that of all things He is the impossible beyond man's conception, a God of all eternity. He has always been, there was never a time when He came into being, and He will always and forever be who He is without change. What a awesome truth. One can only ever believe this by the faith that God gives because the human mind cannot conceive of eternality or understand it at all. Nothing man has ever known has been eternal. Gods were understood and beieved to be what they were by their names. No idol could ever have been honestly called eternal with any kind of believability because never would man have thought that something could exist forever. Man would never make up a name like Yahweh for a god. So they have to know just by the Name that this God is the King of all Gods and even truly alive unlike any god that could be made by a man out of a piece of wood. Praise His Holy Name. This is God HImself our personal, loving, all powerful God, worthy of all worship and praise and beyond our human conception.
  8. It seems that the Lord in His death, burial and resurrection is our whole life. As we look to Him, we are led step by step in a walk of faith in the battle we face. There is peace and joy in the midst of the storm. It is about trust and obedience to the prompting of God. It means courage in the face of our human weakness; the courage and boldness of the Spirit Fo God and it means waiting in Him for His timing. When there is sin in our lives, at one level we do not trust of care if He is fighting our battles or not. We are not thinking of Him. If we know Him He is doing what He does, but we do not have the peace and assurance that He is.

  15. A signal pole, usually a flag would be erected on the top of a hill. It was to call the troops to gather and begin war. In this case, the Amalekites were coming to war against the armies of Israel. Moses stood on the top of a hill and held his hands up in the air. In that situation, the Israelites perceived this to be the sign that it was time to gather for war. God had told Moses to do this. When they looked up and saw Moses, they won the battle as long as his hands were up. When they would become discouraged they could look it and it encouraged their heart. It was Moses that God used to give the victory. But it was the men who had to fight. We too are engaged constantly in war. It is an unseen spiritual battle with the forces of evil. The Lord Jesus Christ through His crucifixion and resurrection secured the victory. When we keep our eyes on Him, we will our battles and when we get our eyes off of Him we lose our battles. It is the same thing. He is our Moses, or our banner of victory and protection.
