  1. When you are adopted, you are chosen by the adoptive parents. They have a desire to have a child and you are the one that they desire to love, care for, protect, guide, teach, provide for. Too ofen, children are born into families were they are not really wanted and they are neglected and abused. Adoption isn't by accident it is a conscience decision on the part of the parents. It is encouraging to me because God desired me!!! God didn't have to chose me, but He desired me! God knew even before I was born that I would accept Him and love Him and He wanted me to be His child. As my Father in Heaven, God wants the best for me. He wants to protect me, love me, guide me, teach me, provide for me, help me. God wants me to live with Him for all eternity. God wanted me to be a part of His family, to share in His goodness. God didn't have to do that, He wanted to.
  2. To me, being Holy means being without sin. Jesus' blood has covered my sins and that has made me holy in the sight of God. It also means to me, to not be conformed to this world but that I am an alien here and my home is in heaven. I can only stand blameless before God because of the blood Jesus shed for me. The Holy Spirit is working in me to make me in the image of Christ, holy and blameless. God promises to complete the good work that He started in me. That He will see it through to completion. We are made in the image of God. The image of God is holy and blameless and as I trust Jesus Christ, put my faith in Him, follow Him and not the world He is making me holy and blameless.
  3. I guess what scares me about predestination is that even though God already knew who would accept and reject Him, and He predestined those whom he knew would accept Him, that it is not done by us. God choses us. It scares me b/c there are people that I love and care about whom I want them to be saved but they will not be and spend eternity in hell. It is comforting because I know God doesn't make mistakes. He knows who will ultimately accept and reject Him. And whom God has predestined to be saved WILL BE SAVED. I think Paul bring it up to show that God knows all things, that it is God's will, God is in control and that God loves us.
  4. Jesus is now my life. I look to Him for all my needs. I love Him, trust Him, depend upon Him and not myself. I've accepted His ways, His thoughts and not wordly ways and thoughts. This is implied by my actions, my attitude, my beliefs, my words.
