  1. Stones were set as a reminder of God's promises...It was anointed because of being in the presence of God and God's promises...many think worship is about singing praise songs..but worship is ridding one's life of all that is against God and the stones were set up to remind the generations of God..
  2. I came from a large family where there was favortism...I had asked my brothers and sisters to let me know if my mother went to the hospital that I could go and I was not told she was in the hospital for three days and had passed away...I was so hurt..Idid not have the chance like the others to say goodby...I remembered about the peace of God that passess all understanding and I rested in those words...When I went to the funeral, I felt I was surrounded by peace...The bible canbe read over and over, but it is more than just a book, it is God's word that is true and it comforts, encorages, even rebukes and we acan stand on His word...His promises are sure...There will be many disappointments in this life, wheter it be family or anyone, but I know for sure, Our Lord is above it all and through Him we can rise above it..
  3. I do not think it a crime..as God could have intervened in it, but did not...yet...there were consequences, just like there are consequences today for wrong choices...There are some choices that can be fixed,,but then there are consequences that effect your life and never go away...In that day, sins were forgiven once a year as the Lord had not come nor the Holy Spirit...Did Jacob, Rebekah and Esau offer a sin offering?..Is that what led Jacob to see his brother that there would be forgiveness?..
  4. Yes, she was..even though she had worshiped another God, she turned to the true God...She did not wait on God to fulfil His promise regarding Jacob and schemed to do it herself...which shows little faith..How many today try to 'help God out"...When Jacob feared to see Esau and was forgiven when he saw his brother was spiritual and Esau forgiving his brother was spiritual as forgiveness reconcilled them as it reconciles us to God...
  5. Esau did not care about it's value at the time...Esau had intention of regaining it back and was upset that he could not...For a meal, he took advantage of his brother not knowing his brother tricked him, but their mother was the one who started the ordeal that came to pass as she was the one who favored Jacob...It is a situation of manipulation...It so reminds me of people who do not want to accept the Lord until they are ready not knowing the next day is not promised..There will be many Esaus trying to go to heaven on judgement day...
  6. He is Holy and it dispells all the pride in me..
  7. All my worship to God has been filthy rags...unworthy..I did not realize I was worshipping "church' an the people in church trying to fit in and do as much service as I could and failing because the only way I can go forward and give worship that is pleasing to God is to be obediant to His word..to understand that it is because of His love and mercy and being a Soveriegn God and still loving us inspite of ourselves this no one can repay but to obey and trust Him no matter what and I was only trusting in what I could do and failed miserably..I pray God will give me another chance..
  8. Both had the knowledge of One God over all other gods which is so amazing as only God can give insight to this knowledge
  9. I love this question...I have been through so many trials...The first few...I depended on helping the Lord..but after awhile and other trials came...trials that no one but God could handle...and I began to see miracles in my life that only God brought in the situation...I began to put complete trust and faith in God and not in myself or man...It is prayer that brought the trust and faith into my life to learn to wait on the Lord knowing He will answer and bring me through the trials that I do not face alone..for God is always with me...
  10. People who blame God do not know God...God does not tempt anyone as it is the **** of the flesh that tempts people...Since the fall of Adam...God has given man mercy through Jesus...for Jesus the only Son of God paid the price for the sin man caused from the beginning when Adam sinned..God gives man a free will to choose...It is man that allows himself to sin for he is given the choice...a choice to accept salvation through Jesus Christ..or to reject Him...To reject the Lord leads to death and eternal seperation from God and that is a choice man takes...
  11. I am going through a trial that is very hard..but I am reminded of what Job told the Lord...though ou slay me...I will trust ou...Even though I may not understand the will of God..I know it is perfect...It is not easy to be a christian..those who have gone before us suffered greatly for the cause of Christ...prosperity was not on their minds but to endure to the end..To live is Christ..to die is gain..to endure is to reign with Him...This is what i think about and it has changed my life as I use to go through trials trying to make it on my own and I fell so hard...but now that I am older in th Lord...I welcome the trials for each one makes me more dependant on the Lord and has greatly changed my prayer life from I want ...to..Thank You Lord for all you do...thay brings me to your feet...
  12. I know trials and am in one today...I have wondered why there are so many trials I have to face ..this is the hardest trial I have ever had to face...I could not recognize the path I am on...Through my weakness...I am reminded of Job...when he told the Lord..though you slay me...I will trust you...and that is the way I feel...No matter the outcome..I will trust Him ...I know who I believe in...and it assures me to give no place to the evil one but to Thank God for the trials that make me dependant on Him...
  13. Hi... My name is Maryjane...I am from Texas..Studying the Word is very important to me..It is life to me and I am so happy to be in this forum that I can learn more and to meet others.
  14. The difference between the non believer and the believer is that the non believer will die and have no hope of eternal life as the believer does. We are called to the gospel that saves and that is what we have to do with non believers. So many day it is not their gift to tell others about the gospel, but we are commanded to do so...
  15. Many do not know there is a was going on. it is replaced by what people call circumstance. Spiritual warfare is real. It is important to know the authority we have been given through Christ Jesus. The Lord fought the enemy through the word. When the war rages, it can be overwhelming and often a person going through the war can forget how to fight the war. It is so important to be encouraged when we go through a spiritual battle, for in doing so, in a weak state we can be lifted up by one who is strong and can bring us back to the power of the word. Also, many churches do not believe in spiritual warfare and are being eaten alive by it.
  16. We are powerless without faith. When I do not pray in faith believing, I am powerless. I believe congregations that produce are a praying congregation that is moving in faith believing. many congregations cannot produce due to unbelief.
  17. As a christian...I look forward to being with the Lord....In reading the question of what motivates...and I think of Philippians 1:21..."For me to live is Christ and to die is gain...the more I surrender my life the more I gain...I have gained an eternal home..joy and peace in the midst of storms...I use to be worried all the time as I know many non believers are and many depressed and turn to suicide...but...it is hope knowing that the Lord will come and I will be with Him...it is an absolute...This affexcts all my decisions due to knowing I can do nothing without God..and it is important to seek God's face in all my decisions...and for all that I do that I can glorify God....the more I go to the Lord...the more humble I am...and the more I know it is not me..but Christ in me the hope of glory...may this be in my life...that I may know this and the hope of His glory that I will see makes me excited...and the zeal of sharing this hope with the non believer...
  18. God's purpose in our lives is for our good...that we should glorify God in all we do..to fulfill His purpose is to trust Him..He wants us to be a light before men that men can see God in us..by our lives in which we live in Him...
  19. All things will be subject to Jesus Christ for He alone is worthy...It relates to God for He sent His Son that we could be reconcilled with the Father through Jesus and Jesus alone..we are made partakers through God's promise through redemption...All who belong to the Lord will be gathered in unity...1 Cor. 15:24-28 relates in this by as Jesus delivers the Kingdom to God as He puts an end to all rule and authority and power..he will reign til he puts all enemies uner His feet...The last enemy..death..when this is done..He will put himself under God and all will be subject to God that God will be all in all...(Rev. 20:14..."then death and Hades were cast into the lake of fire, this is the second death"
  20. Our purpose is to glorify God..in all that we do...that when we bring praise to the Lord..we bring to him ourselves... To fulfill this purpose is to surrender to His will and not our own...so important to stay in the Word and apply it daily to our lives...to trust in His word for it is faithful and true...in doing this...we will shine before men and through our lives...that God will be glorified..
