  1. We should always be willing to ask God for forgiveness. We sin often, and without realizinfg it sometimes we sin. I sometimes think I am justified in what I am thinking or doing because I am reacting to what has just happened to me. Not so--this means I have given a person to much authority over me. I have replaced God with them or with the circumstances that are the reason why I am acting the way I am acting and that gives them the austhority over a loving and forgiving God.
  2. I believe that we should always be willing to give God our best. The best we can give Him in prayer is to remind Him of His promises. He has not forgotten them--to remind Him of them is for our benefit. He knows His Word, and what it accomplishes--we are the one that needs to be put in remembrance. I have learned through the years, that if I take the Word of God and pray that to Him, He has no choice but to move. He is not moved by our emotions, etc. , but reminding HIm of His Word will get things done!
  3. These Israelites remind me of America. We praise and worship him when we are afraid. But as soon as the danger seems to subside, we return to our wicked ways. These people forgot a locing an merciful God who pulled out all stops to bring them out of the land of Egypt. Even though he delivered them, they still had the mentally of Egypt. Sure, God knew this. He knew they were not delivered from the ways of the pass. This was the purpose of Moses being brought up to the mountain. These people needed some guidances and some rules to live by. Before God could complete the work that was to be done in them, they sinned. A loving God can be so angry because when they left Egypt, they left singing his praises. They witnessed what God would do to save them. They knew that Moses and Aaron were representatives of God. Most of all, God had proven himself to all of them. There were no reasons for the blatant disobedience they were doing. It always amazes me when I read this chapter of the response of Aaron. He knew the will of God. How could he have bowed to the pressure of the people? Why did he not refuse? Moses response to the Lord's anger is Biblical. He tells us over and over again to put Him in remembrance of his promises. This is what Moses did. By doing so, he cooled the anger of the Lord. Moses did not want recognition. He did not need a new generation of people to come through his loins. He needed the people of God that he had been given authority over to come forth in obedience and in the promises that God had made regarding them. God still had not fulfilled his word regarding these people. To not do so would mean that his word would return to him void! I find it interesting that the very items that God told Moses to get from the Egytians to give them wealth, was used to destroy their innocence. How many times have you seen people who were blessed to have something they have desired, and the next time you saw them, all they did was complain? Dolly, I have to agree with you. Often, when we do not see an immediate answer, we will go to some great extents to get the answer we are seeking without considering the consequences.
  4. Linda, when I am really tough on myself, and I refuse to accept the forgiveness of Christ for something I have done, it usually then, that I am allowed to witness the beautiful change ain someone else life that was nothing compared to mine. My husband is a perfect example. We come from two different backgrounds. I am a country girl, the only girl in the family, and really sheltered. I knew very little about anything. Then I married my husband who had seen almost everything, and I could not believe that I was so innocent. I could not believe that people could sin willingly without considering the consequences. The fact is, that they did not know any better. I was brought up going to Church. And the clearest recollection I have is at the age of 3, of participating in Church. His family was not familiar with Church. Sure they went on the holidays, but that was about it. However, to make a long story short, his family is saved, and He became of one of God's greatest gifts to the body!
  5. I don't know in what sense I have not been redeemed from every curse of the law. For me the question is am I walking and living in that redemption. Often I forget that I do have redemption from some of the horrible sins I commit against the Father. Yet I do know that without the redemption of the blood of Jesus, I would not have a a future. Everything I did would be to glorify flesh and satan. I need to grow up, and recognize that grace and mercy that has been given to me by the FAther thru my Lord Jesus!
