  1. Christ tried to prepare his disciples for his death but they did not hear of it, they just could not understand that it could happen so Jesus told it to them over and over again so that when it did happen and was risen they would know it to be true. However his enemies heard it weren't believers so it was easy for them to just be there. His enemies just wanted to prove that they did not say He had risen, So the made the tomb secure and guarded it so no one could steal his body and Say he had risen. They tried to prevent the spread of what they thought to be lies. Christ said it while on the cross that he would rise on the third day but I don't know how many of his followers actually heard that or believed it at that time...
  2. Jesus certainly wanted us to listen and to believe in him when he said "I am the resurrection and the life." The resurrection has many meanings, He was resurrected but for us I think it means that He is the source of it all. He doesn't just give life, he is Life. We are resurrected all the time especially when He raises us from a life of sin Because life is eternal and if we believe in him then death has no power over us it is just a state for our human bodies until we are brought together again, to be judged. Jesus' role will be to assist in the judging with his Father.
  3. The righteous have been doing the work that God has asked of them and they will be rewarded

  5. Oh I believe, Job was tested, and Job believed and he believed it for himself . that he would see with his own eyes, he heard the promise of there being something more beyond the darkness. Where the Jews only knew of the despair with no presence of God Progressive revelation is the way in which God began to reveal to his people was was to come and that it would include life after death. I like that thought even within my own life. Although I can read the bible and am fortunate to live in the times after the new testament was written. This Progressive Revelation is something that I think happens to each of us as we have those Ah Yah moments when God's words become clear to us
