  1. Yes my answer is the same as Julie's - and now we have to accept Jesus as our Lord & Saviour, believe he died for our sins on the cross and confess with our lips the sin in our hearts, and we are forgiven. Jesus takes not only the place of the sacrificil lamb but our place too - what we deserved he took, by his stripes we are healed. The perfect sacrifice for an imperfect world. We have to start again with a clean sheet and keep on coming back to the foot of the cross when we fail, knowing that forgiveness is there waiting for us.
  2. I agree with what has been said already by a lot of people - we are sheltered from the slaughter of animals and it is easy to forget that the food we cook actually comes from animals. But the actual sacrifice of animals was totally different - could you imagine having to stand with your hand on a perfect animal and know that it's blood was to be spilled for you, because you had committed sin against God. Not only do we sanitize the slaughter of animals, we sanitize sin - we refuse to look at ourselves in the full light of God to see just how guilty we are. Yet without bloodshed there can be no sacrifice. Just imagine now, standing beside Jesus and we, filthy sinners that we are, placing our hands on Him and He willingly shedding his blood for us - it makes me realise just how much He loves me. He paid the price. Allelulia.
  3. Hello everyone, I live in the UK & this is my first online bible study - God is good - being disabled I find the internet a lifeline to the outside world. I have many interests & am loved, cherished and kept alive by my special angel husband, two grown up children and two grandchildren. Praise God for his gifts to me!! I am enjoying life as fully as I can and this bible study is another step forward for me. Blessings to all.
  4. Anger as response to sin is necessary as we need to be shaken by our own anger and in awe of God's anger, in order to respond. This needs to be a controlled angry response so that we don't sit back and say well I'm angry, but actually get up off our backsides and do something about it. Angry people help to feed the hungry, fight injustice, take on the big guys against those who can't fight for themselves.
  5. The lamb was the sin sacrifice for the common people as described in the Leviticus passage we read - John was pointing this out to us in behold the lamb. Taking away the sins of the world was controversial as only God was able to forgive sin (take away sin) - so he was saying Behold this is God himself. The one other point I would make is that the lamb sacrifice at the temple/tabernacle was one lamb for one person/family - it would take millions of lambs to absolve the sins of the world - yet the death of the Son of God himself was one man for the sins of whole of mankind.
