  1. Your statement Kimberly is right on the money! It is ashamed that our Savior Jesus had (willingly) to go to the cross for us, and I can never thank him enough for his sacrifice (a love so great to comprehend fully). An animals life is nothing compared to ours, or Christ. There is a new movie coming out soon called "The Passion", about the last 12 hours of Jesus' life before the cross, not sure if I will see it, it is not in English, so I consider it a foreign film.
  2. I am thankful that animal sacrifice is not needed for atonement for sin, but some animals will always be a source of food. I never been on a farm, I have always lived in the city, but my 14 yo daughter and I are archery hunters, and fresh water fisherpersons, we know the fruits of our labor, plus we enjoy the great outdoors that God created for us to enjoy, it is good healthy living when in balance with fruits, vegetables, bread and fellowship. There is great satisfaction in having the knowledge of providing for ourselves, I believe it is a comfort that the Lord wants us to have. My daughter and I pray for the Lord to grant us successful hunts, and just after the harvest of our game, while our hearts are still pumping from the excitement of the hunt, we get on our knees after we find our downed animal and give thanks for the food. And taking care of the harvest animal, field dressing, skinning and quartering up is not a big deal when you know and understand the Lords grace overall of your entire life. A pastor told me once, that most people don't know that if they where to go 12 mealtimes without food, they wouldn't hesitate to kill for food, a natural instinct to survive, it would be on your mind every minute your awake.
  3. John the baptize stated in the gospel of John (sorry for the lack of chapter and verse) he said that there is one among you that will come after me, that existed before me and that he did not know him, even though John was Jesus cousin, they did not know each other before the day Jesus was baptized by John, so John was not an ordinary prophet, but had a special ministry given to him by God it would seem, so in my opinion, John knew way more than anyone could comprehend at that time in history. Fascinating!!
  4. Thank you Diane for mentioning this very important quality of the sacrificial lamb, you stated it beautifully! A detail that I will keep in my mind from now on. I knew that the Lord was sinless and had to be, to fulfill prophecy, but it is nice to have this correlation from the old testament of the lamb, and Jesus as the lamb!
  5. My name is Richard, I enjoy being just me, I am 43 years old, live in Houston Texas, my likes are studding God's word, spending as much time with my family, I cycle as many bike tours in Texas I can, like the ms150 (180 miles) for the MS Society, or the Alamo Challenge (200 miles) for the American Lung Association. After 180 miles of peddling, believe me, you'll start talking to God, "Please God, ease the pain in my legs and gluteus, please, help me PLEASESSS, give me the strength to finish!!!!!". During the winter months when it is too cold to put on skin tight cyclist clothes and go riding, I put on the more warmer camouflage clothing and go archery hunting white-tail deer and turkey! It is rare but it is nice to just fall asleep leaning up against a tree at a pond with a fishing pole in my hands!! I love the outdoors, especially in the remote places, where I can see God's creations!! All that aside, I am happy to be here and am ready to study the word!!
