I believe that our hearts can decieve us when we too quickly accept it without pondering over it. I see very often that it's easy to listen to a Bible teaching without allowing God to take full of control of your heart. The word can redeem us but too often we just process it in our minds and it doesn't sink into our hearts. When you listen to the word there has to be a transformation, a change of will, a conflict between our flesh and spirit and eventually the word convicts us. The nature of self-deception is when we node in acceptance, pay lip service, to the word and going out and forgeting all about it. Righteous living is when a word of God revives and energizes us into action. Bini

The "word of truth" is the gospel , the good news that Jesus died on the cross for our sins and by believing in Him and repenting of our sins we have eternal life. The word is like the mirror that shows us our true nature and any pollution that comes from the filth of the world. Our spiritual life is sustained by the "Word" and guided by it. Bini

The promise is to ASK in order to receive WISDOM. The condition attached is that we be single minded, ask believing that we would receive. It is written in Hebrews 11:6 that God is pleased when we exercise faith and approach Him believing that He rewards those who seek Him. Trials allow perseverance to develop in us a mature faith , a faith that has been tested. When we seek wisdom, we receive because we persevere through trials, and approach God with a conviction and desire to receive the perfect gift from the Father of the heavenly lights! Glory to God.

Many people blame God because they don't know enough abut God. If they new God and his love, kindness for us, they wouldn't blame God.
