  1. Q5. (Hebrews 5:9) In verse 9, what does "made perfect" refer to, since it obviously isn't talking about Jesus' moral growth and perfection? (Hint: The word teleioĊ means "bring something to its goal or accomplishment.") He overcome all sin/temptation - He passed the test - He fulfilled what He came to earth to do for mankind. He became the One for eternal salvation
  2. What is so important about holding fast to our confession: It is so important to hold fast to our confession - to say out loud confessions with faith to keep sin out of our minds and hearts cause the mind is where Satan attacks the most - we must hold fast to take hold of our eternal life What is our confession or profession of Faith? To fight the good fight of faith Why is maintaining this confession so vital If we do not maintain our confessions we will lose our eternal life and we want to keep feeding the Holy Spirit
  3. Only hte word can give us rest cause the word is God who tell us who we are and how to live The word is alive and sharper than any two edged sword. The word convicts us To ward of temptations and to remain strong only in Him
  4. Eternal rest which is a promise for each believer We are prone to temptations which eludes to what we believe as christians. We are reminded that we must not take for granted the promises of God 'Apostacy from Christ' when one willingly reject Christ. Falling into sin is when a believer fall without knowing it.
  5. The importance of our faith in Chirst is to trust God and to be partners in Christ. Sin trick us when we isolate our selves from our brothers and sisters Sin hardens us and is very deceptive It hardens us by blinding our eyes So one will not fall in sin - must daily encourage one another so as no to be hardened So one will not fall in sin - must daily encourage one another so as not to be hardened by sin
  6. We must hold onto Christ so that we would not go back to our old ways We must continue in our faith so that we wont be rebellious but obedient and faithful to him If we dont continue in faith we will waiver
  7. Why in God's plan did Jesus have to become human like us? Because God knew and saw how mankind was wicked - because we are created like Him he sent the second person of the trinity to come and pay the price for our sins once and for all cause sacrifices had to be done constantly. It was a the only dear and most costly price that God could have sent to mankind - his priceless son How does his humanity provide encouragement and help to us when we are in trouble? Knowing that He paid the price so that we can go boldly before him when we are in trouble and call upon his name anytime.
  8. What was the purpose of Christ's death according to verses 14 and 15? Destroying Satan and nullifying his power of death over mankind In what sense is this mission accomplished? By Jesus being the Victorious over satan. Mankind have a choice and can be save thru the power and blood of Jesus because he is sitting at the right hand of the Father making intercession for us and we have the power to defeat Satan by calling on His name and blood cause there is power in them In what sense will it see its final completion in the future? When the Bride Christ shall rise and those that are saved will meet and go with Him What is the result in our lives from Christ's accomplishment? That the price we paid in a sinful world by serving Him we will be able to spend eternity with Him
  9. What does it mean, to bring many sons and daughters "to glory"? It was suitable to divine wisdom and justice and the program of grace to offer Jesus as a sacrifice in order to bring many souls to glory or to accept Jesus as they Lord and savior Jesus Christ bringing them from death to life In what sense did Jesus become "perfect" through suffering? What are the implications for our own lives? He suffered for the remission of our sin and because of his suffering He is now able to offer eternal salvation to those who obey Him. Through the suffering before and on the cross Jesus completed the work necessary for our own Salvation. Our suffering can make us stonger sons and daughters with utmost respect for him thru obedience. It will also make us more compassionate to those who don't know Him and servants of God who are struggling to become more like Him.
  10. In what way did Christ "taste death for everyone"? Angels are immortal and cannot die so Jesus was made lower than the angels in the form of man in order to taste death for mankind Why is this so dependent upon God's grace? Because of we are created like him (little gods) that even the angels could not fathom what it is He has with mankind - it is not his will that we perish so he had such grace towards us and still do If Christ died for your blackest and most stubborn sins, what are the implications for you? That I should be sold out to Him and Him only, I must at all times pray, praise, and worship HIm. I must share and give love cause love came down from heaven
  11. In what ways did Jesus suffer during his life and death? He suffered pain, shame, loneliness, rejection, redicule, temptation, persecution to name a few In what ways are we likely to suffer? We are likely to suffer the same and if not more because of the nature of time. I perceive that we can even be stoned, the bible taken away from us, not to mention His name Does suffering have any value? Yes What happens when we live in such a way to avoid all suffering? We miss out on spiritual growth and closeness with God- we are pruned thru suffering to fully understand how and what He himself have suffered for us so that we can love him more. If we look at all the patriots in the bible and Jesus himself they all at one time suffer But God brought through
  12. By what way has the truth of salvation been confirmed to me? It was confirmed to my by its founder Christ, its price death of the only begotton son, it's benefits thru the Holy Spirit - soul salvation, healing, deliverance, joy and peace, preservation, daily benefits - signs and wonders Would signs and wonders help or hinder establishing the truth of Christ's ministry today? A big YES it will help! Because He said, I have to go unto my father, greater works will we do when He is gone (signs, wonders, miracles) but the Father will send another Comforter Jn14:11-17 26, 16:12-15 - Power with demonstration must come - it is already happening - soon it will be more prevelent - Oh Glory to God!!! But we are to be very careful according to Matthew 24:24 and Mark 13:22 "For false messiahs and false prophets will rise up and perform signs and wonders so as to deceive, if possible, even God
  13. In what ways are we not immune to drifting away from the gospel? when we read the gospel we are to believe it as words sent from God - the Holy Spirit who inspired men to write and not as human opinions - if we believe it's men opinions we are apt to drift How can we successfully resist the tendency to drift? By not letting the truth slip away from us and forget that we were purged from our old sins (2Pet 1:4-10) How did Jesus describe this phenomenon of "drift" in the Parable of the sower? They heard the word of God but they did not take heed of it - like a seed that was not sown in good ground will not germinate so it is with the word of God when we hear it and not let is go into our hearts we will drift especially when situation arises - we need to speak the word to those situations to rise above the situation and live
  14. His radiance and his glory as a matter of fact all of the 6 characteristics mention but his radiance and his glory stuck out to me cause John 1:14 states the word was made flesh and dwell among us (Jesus) and we beheld his glory - the glory as of the only begotten of the Father - full of grace and truth The role the Son have in doing the Father's will according to these verses is for the salvation of mankind
  15. The author is using the word son as a biological relationship because Jesus is God's son made flesh. He is emphasizing not only His sonship, but that He is the only Son in the sense of being begotten (Jn 1:14) A Son's words have more weight than a prophet's because The Son is the spokesman for God, was appointed heir of all things, planner of the worlds and brightness of God's glory - His Son made flesh (God himself)
  16. If we were to believe that God predestined everything then there is no power in prayer. If we have a wrong understanding of determinism and predestination then we believe that we cannot change God's mind and action, we would not have any bold prayers like Moses. What do you call a belief that our prayers make no difference to God's response? Our prayers would passive and unbelieving.
  17. What aspects of Moses' prayer of intercession should we emulate in our own prayers? To pray for mercy for people who hurt us instead of condemnation Upon what logical grounds does Moses offer this bold appeal to God? On grounds of reminding God of the promise he made with Abraham, Isaac and Israel his servants. Whereby he sworn that he will multiply their seeds as the stars of the heaven and all the land he will give to his seed and they shall inherit it forever What do you think it means to "pray the promises of God"? How does knowing the Bible help you get your prayers answered? To pray the promises of God is to pray his word back to him that is suitable for the pray we are praying to him so that his will be done- we also challenge him when we pray his promises back to him - he cannot say no to our prayers just like Moses Did - Knowing the bible helps us align ourselves with the will of God
  18. What had the people done that was so bad? They corrupted themselves v7 Turned aside quickly v8 Made a molten image v4 Worshipped it v5 Sacrificed to it 46 Claim it was the God that led them out of Egypt Stiffed necked people How can a loving God be Angry? Because God is God - thank God He is God cause I would have long time ago destroy them. God is very serious about covenant. He is a covenant God - the people broke the covenant by making a false God and to make it worse they worshiped it. Is God's sentence to destroy Israel and raise up a new nation through Moses justified? Yes. Again, He is God. He did it once with Noah and could have done it again. He wanted a nation that would obey him not a disobedient nation. Disobedience is like witchcraft.
  19. We seek to be independent of asking anyone for help for the good reason because we trust in God and know that all help comes from Him. For the selfish reason is that we are just too proud to ask anyone for help - many times we just want to make believe everything is alright when it is not and for the sake of pride we suffer the consequences of not asking for help. We seek to be independent of God because some of us have what we need 80% of the time so we think we are doing well. The bills are paid, have a car, the husband etc - things are just good - so therefore we tend to rely on us and forget that God is our Jehovah Jireh our Provider - like you said it is not until we lost that job or get sick - our comfort zone got rocked. When that comfort zone is shaken that is when we remember Him when it should not be. We should ask God to give us daily bread so long as we can earn a living for ourselves because no day belongs to us - one day we have food or a job and the next day we we may not so we should ask him on a daily basis to provide.
  20. When we ask that the Father's kingdom should come we are asking our Father for his awesome manifest presence/power/glory of his kingdom to come upon us so that we can take it to the world - to a people who do not believe in God. When they see the glory on us the glory that will cause us to look different, shine - do His will and speak His word. Is God's will that mankind should be like Him - love, unity, peace to name a few. We are asking the Father's will to be done on earth so that we His people will be ready for His return. This prayer should affect our living by asking God to be his hand extended by asking Him for that power and glory to fill us - to be new vessels/shepard to go and take this power and glory to those you are lost
  21. In my life I just say the our Father prayer without fully understanding or feeling the dept of how deep this prayer is. I think my hallows was empty, would say it from my head. Now it will be from the heart cause I now fully understand what it means to hallow His name. Many times like you stated we use his name in vain i.e. in a simple situation saying, "for God's sake," or God, are you kidding me to name a few We should begin to hallow the Father first by acknowledging him as Our Father, the only Holy God etc., telling Him who He is and who He is to us and how much we reverence his name.
