  1. Christ is head over the house of God, which we are if we remain "In Him". We can only remain in Him through our faith in Him. If we don't we can never enter the "rest" of the Lord and being in His house.
  2. Jesus had to become like us in order to fulfill his role as high priest to show his mercy to us. His humanity gives him understanding of us...as he has been tempted in all ways just as we have.
  3. The purpose of Christ death was to defeat Satan..the holder of death. Christ overcoming death (spiritual) is a one time for all time. Past, present and future. The result in our lives is 'Praise to God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit we will go home to be with HIM.
  4. To bring many sons and daughters to glory, is to bring them from death to life...To His glory. Jesus became perfect through suffering death and conquering it. It means we also can be free of death through HIM.
  5. Christ became our substitute..He died for us...He paid our price for sin. We cannot be a sacrifice for sin because we are not sinless...only Christ could meet the requirements. Christ died for all my sins..I am free..the price is paid..I am His...bought with the greatest price ever given. Rom. 8:1 There is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus..He made this possible.
  6. Jesus suffered in rejection...in people's lack of faith in Him..in watching suffering. In being tortured on the way to the cross.. On the cross..Crying to the Father.."My God, My God. why has thou forsaken me. Suffering has great value in the molding of oneself..in Jesus case the suffering was for our salvation. In avoiding suffering, we will avoid growth in our Christian walk. We will avoid becoming like HIM.
  7. The truth of salvation has been confirmed to me by the written word of God. Signs and wonders are not needed..we either accept the WORD or reject the WORD. Jn. ch. 1. Signs and wonders had a place in time...now we have the words of God. I have formed a lot of my opinion because of I Cor. 12.
  8. We are not immune from drifting away from the gospel..if we are not living it, continually learning it, growing by it, we will find ourselves drifting. Fellowship with God is no. 1. Hearing Him, living with Him, giving up self for Him. He will successfully lead us so that we don't drift. It will be through His power. Jesus makes us alert to the types of soil that will cause drifting. So many times we can see ourselves as different soils in our journey to a closer relationship with the Master.
  9. The description of God speaking through his Son.... The Son as the radiance glory of God..... Superiority over Angels.... Sitting at the right hand of God.... worshipped by angels...firstborn..laying the foundtions of the world... never to perish...speaks of being divine. The Son will do the Fathers will as he is the exact representation of the Father. He loves righteousness and hates wickedness. Sitting at the right hand of God..ruling with God.
  10. I believe that the word "son" is used in the "exact representation of". Jesus said "if you have seen me, you have seen the Father". Many times Jesus (in the bible) shows that he is God. As the word "firstborn" is used..meaning first in rank not born before anyone else.
