  1. I have several questions in this area of the study. As I said in my introduction, I love to research, so as I read through this section, the word, "ontological," popped up and I wanted to know the definition. I read about "ontological Trinitarianism" (no debate--I believe in the Three in One) and it spoke about "economic Trinitarianism," where it indicated that there were many debates on this topic. I believe fully that Jesus' physical life was a pattern for us to see how to live in our physical bodies, seek, obey, care and be an example to others. And His prayer life was to show us that we should and need to be connected--life runs so much easier when I am practicing the presence of God. You mentioned Jesus; "economic subordination" role with the Father and how Jesus was dependent upon the Father. My questions are: Could this be similar to our relationship with Jesus? Would we be considered "economically subordinate" through Jesus, since we were created in the 'Image and Likeness' of God [Reading Richard Rohr's study about God, as well, as this one.] (John 15:15) Jesus said that we were no longer slaves/servants, but friends and in Romans we are 'adopted heirs.' It appears to be somewhat like a family tree? I hope this doesn't sound crazy. I'm always trying to figure our easy ways--as Jesus did--for people to understand, when presenting the Trinity and Christ to others.
  2. Good Morning, I'm Catherine from Pittsburgh, PA. I am a full time teacher at a middle school--my second career. My husband and I are also pastors of a small church. I'm feeling pulled to move in another direction of Spiritual Formation at the Pittsburgh Seminary. "Listening for God's Voice" seems to be a good place to start in this area of study. I love to read God's Word, research, read commentaries, take notes and journal my prayers for insight and direction. I love Jesus immensely!
  3. My name is Catherine.  I live in the Pittsburgh area.  I belong to the United Church of Christ denomination.  I'm on my second career, the first being retail business and presently I am a full time teacher at a middle school.  Our denomination offers a license ministry program with the process of moving in the ordination direction.  My husband and I have been blessed with a small church.

I love studying God's Word and I delve into it with scripture reading, research, commentaries,  prayer and generally discussion with my husband/friends or during bible studies.  I love to take notes and post in my bibles over the years and also in journals, which I have many.  The journals include my prayers to understand what I just read and petitions for clarity, when things are cloudy to my limited mind.

I love the Lord Jesus.  When I say it at the end of prayers, I get overwhelmed, my heart swells and generally I cry.  He's amazing.  And it's amazing what God has done in my wretched life because I was once very worldly, secular person.  I find this also amazing because God has blessed me to use what I learned from past mistakes to lead children and guide others, when I consider God opening a door for me in these situations.

Jesus pray to His Father in the morning, like we should do because for me the '"manna" is in the morning alone with our Precious Lord.  In the morning, I need to have this solitary place ( ground ) where i can be with Him Alone (CONNECTION WITH MY PRECIOUS JESUS IN THE MORNING). Jesus here is teaching us ... do the things that MY Father is saying... by going out somewhere else with His disciples... In fact, , I think HE IS OBEYING TO GOD THE FATHER  and HE IS FOLLOWING  WHAT HIS FATHER IS SAYING TO HIM...  Here, Our Precious Lord is not focusing on his needs, but where the Father wants  him to go ... HIS FATHER DIRECTION.  HE is  TRUE SERVANT of His FATHER. Jesus do not let the WORLD stopping Him from listening to His Father direction.

I should do the same thing as Jesus ignoring people that want to take me out my way and obedience and prayer time. AMEN.

  4. People don't like change; especially when change challenges perceived 'societal norms.' When people see others changing their lifestyle drastically, it makes them question their own beliefs. God doesn't want chaos, but I believe that He likes a good duel (His duel with Satan in the book of Job). I don't proclaim to know God's motives, but by reading scripture you can pick up some insights. Possibly, God allows these things to occur for several reasons: continued growth in St. Paul, challenges to non-believers thinking, a call for others to step up, demonstrate His power (really,an earthquake amidst all this?) and because we all know that none of this could occur without the power of the Holy Spirit behind it with counseling, guiding, etc. Paul said in Galatians that he was crucified with Christ. In Romans he stated, 'we are baptized into Chrst's death and buried with Him through this baptism.' There's so much more Paul said that demonstracted his convictions and committed relationship with Christ. Anyone continually proclaiming such strong visual words, has to have such a profound belief that they can't stop even when a little pressure assails them. I see some of Paul's protection actually coming from the people around him, looking out for his safety. When I feel pressure from others, I know I am on God's plan. When I see doors open in unusual places, I know God's plan is at work. When I don't try to manipulate situations and something comes out of the blue, i know God wants me to do something. Do I trust all the time? I wish I could answer yes, but feeling discouraged and sorry for yourself is so much easier.
