  1. In what ways are we not immune to drifting away from the gospel? If we are not in the God's Word daily and living what we are learning we can get caught up in the world and drift away from the gospel. According to the author, how can we successfully resist the tendency to drift? We must pay careful attention. The author is telling us to be mindful of what we know and to apply ourselves to it. How di Jesus describe this phenonmenon of "drift" in the Parable of the Sower? Jesus talked about the seed that was sown on the hard ground of the path, the shallow ground of rocky soil, or the thorny soil where it was choked out. We are also reminded by James 1:22 that just being hearers of the word, and not being doers of it is a dangerous, deceptive place to be.
  2. The fact the the author uses characteristics that are descriptive of our Holy Father and that only the divine one could possible possess all of the characteristics that are used to describe Him. It seems to me that the Son is completely responsible for doing the Father's Will. He is the only one capable of doing what the Father desires.
  3. This is my first bible study and I was very apprehensive at sharing and answering the questions. However, I want to say that after reading the entries is was very encouraging to see in everyone a common understanding. It has helped to me to feel comfortable in sharing my own thoughts. I believe that the use of the word Son was meant to help us as humans understand better the relationship between the Father and Jesus. It was a true biological relationship that we could clearly understand. It holds meaning and honor in our lives and therefore helps us to see the relationship between Jesus and God. As, most have stated, Jesus had the authority to speak the Words, were as the prophets were told what to say. Jesus truly was God in human form. Thanks Kim
  4. I have read quite a few of the introductions and I find myself thinking what a great blessing this on-line study will be. I am Kim from Florida and I am thrilled to be a part of this class with people that are so enthusiatic about being in God's Word. I have invested a lot of time in making sure my children (twin teenage boys (almost 16) and a pre-teen girl (almost 12)) are well grounded in their faith and have a firm foundation. I have not spent enough time on my own walk and feel this will definitely help me to get it right with God. I can't wait to get into the Word and start feeling closer to my Lord and Savior. Blessing to all. Kim
