  1. When i pray in thanksgiving, i am saying that God has done it for me before and He shall surely do it again. I ma being grateful for what He has done before, is doing and continues to do. Not only that, i am saying, "Lord i thank you for this need", if i had everything i need in life, if i was content, it will come to a point where i am too self-centred to even go before the Lord. Even when needs are not met, thanking the Lord for enabling you to have a relationship with Him goes a long way. When you ask for something from anyone and you never say please or thank you, chances are the next time you ask, you might not receive. Thanksgiving increases our faith as we pray. We are confirming who He is. If i list all the things He has dine for me then i will be a fool not to have faith in the Almighty.
  2. Is rejoicing in the Lord a feeling or an action? How should you seek to fulfill this command if you don't feel like it? What is the effect of rejoicing? When you rejoice in the Lord you are proving your faith in Him to be true. When you rejoice you dont say "for all that You have done", but "For who You are Lord". Therefore rejoicing is more of an action than a feeling. Were it a feeling, what happens when you just dont feel like it? Like prayer, we have to do it good bad, or any way. The only wrong way to pray is not praying at all. At the time you dont feel like rejoicing, that is the time when you should greatly rejoice. Only the devil makes you sad or depressed, so if you give in to his demands of not rejoicing then you will realise that you "dont feel like it" more often than not. Lastly, rejoicing gives you a feeling of satisfaction and ease. Have you ever realised how a good belly laugh lifts you up? That is how being in a jovial mood always will lift you up. Yo u will no longer see the hole in the doughnut, but the dough in it. So rejoice in the Lord always, there is more to gain in so doing.
  3. Where does God's power work according to verse 20? His power works in His children, in us who are saved and called by His name How much power is at work there quantitatively? It is immeasurable Why isn't it more evident? In verse 19 it clearly states that His love passeth all knowledge. If it were so evident then our belief would be limited How does exercising Christ's power on earth bring glory to God? We have been given power as Christians so that we can bring back the lost to His Kingdom, and when sinners sing i have been redeemed, that brings glory to the Lord. In terms of our evereyday life as belivers, when we prosper by the power God has given us and live a life that is examplary, so much such that our lifestyles minister to sinners then we are giving Him glory.
  4. As i pondered the answer to this question one thing came to me. You cannot have faith in something / someone you do not know. You have to know their abilities. Having faith in Jesus, is saying "i know who You are Lord and i belive in you". But faith cannot grow on that simple knowledge of God saved me and He is Lord of all. One has to grow in a deeper knowledge of God through His Word, thus developing an intimate relationship with Him, ultimately grow stronger in faith. "Without faith it is impossible to please God", it is not said that it is hard but can be done but IMPOSSIBLE. Therefore, you cannot have a relationship with someone you are not pleasing in any way. Therefore it is not possible too have a personal relationship without faith. "Oh that I may know Him!" That is my prayer at this stage. I long for an intimate relationship with Him....This is an unending search for me.
  5. i greet you in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. i for one belive that a slave is one who is under obligation to serve a master, his or her life is in the hands of the master. a saint on the other hand is one who has totally committed himself to Christ, the Lord and Master. For one to do well in Christianity, they need to be both a slave and a saint. serve wholeheartedly, denying self and giving up their lives totally to God.
