Persecution is more severe in some countries than others. We should however all expect persecution because our "war" is not against flesh and blood - and hence we will all be subjected to some form of persecution. For those that are threatened with their lives, the knowledge that He who is the Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, is faithfull to His promises and in total control - despite what we see with our eyes.

It is such a comfort to understand that the Bible as the Word of God is consistent in its teaching, confirming the doctrine of the Trinity. It fills one with amazing thankfulness that we believe the only true God, really thankful that in His grace, He also chose me to be His child, although I do not deserve it.

Testimony and witness are important especially under difficult circumstances. Jesus' testimony, Him being the "truth" cannot be doubted. It gives confidence, encourages us and provides comfort to know that the testimony given is true. We are afraid to be clear wittnesses as it will expose us to ridicule, being the "odd one out", behind the times. We also know that we do not always live lives revealing God's promises of peace and joy, and hence "self conscious" of our lives lest we should be confronted on these issues.
