  1. Knowing that God is watching over me reassures me so much. It gives me freedom from fear. This is one of my favorite psalms and was also my mothers.
  2. As long as we rely on him, seek Him, he will protect us when in danger. We have the authority through Christ to fight against our enemies and He will help us. The promises in this psalm are 1. I will rescue him 2. I will protect him 3. I will answer him 4. I will be with him in trouble 5. I will deliver him 6. I will honor him 7. I will satisfy him with long life 8. I will show him my salvation. This psalm makes me feel confident that with God, I can overcome anything.
  3. I see the images of the Rocks(protection high above), the image of a hen, covering her chick with her wing (another form of protection) there is the image of the tent where God dwells The first four verses make me feel well protected by God and I know that from wherever I call to him, He hears me and protects me. Kind of wa rm and fuzzy isn't it?
  4. I do so enjoy this Psalm and love to sing the song How Majestic Is Your Name. What we learn here is: About God: He is the creator of all - man and the universe. About Humans: We are simple children that are helpless without Him. About Christ: He was made a little lower than the angels and that he would become human and die for our sins. Jn. 3:16 About responsibilities: We are to oversee his creation and try to make it a better place.
  5. I believe God was pleased with Abraham's boldness. Abreham was "the apple of God's eye" and with this dialogue Abraham's faithfulness was shown. When I pray aright, show humility while praying in faith believing, I hope God will be pleased with me.
  6. Abraham showed his humility by the words "May the Lord not be angry-" which shows he knows his place. Then with a humble heart he asks the Lord to save the righteous. We come boldly to the throne of grace but we cannot demand of God, but should be humble.
  7. Even though the wicked deserve punishment, the righteous do not. God is a just god and would not destroy the righteous with the unrighteous. God's character is jut and righteous.
  8. If I thought everything was predetermined, I wouldn't pray much or even feel the need to pray because, Oh well, what's going to happen will happen no matter what I pray. Prayer does change things. The fervant effective prayer of a righteous man availeth much. That's the way I see it and I know for a fact that prayer does change things.
  9. We need to emulte all of Moses' aspects of intercession. Moses offers his bold appeal on the basis of God's promises You need to know the promises in order to pray them and you only et to know them if you study the Scriptures When we pray from the Scriptures and God's promises, you know that you are praying God's perfect will.
  10. God was angry with them because they made a golden calf and began to worship it as another god. God has every right to be angry. The people sinned and God is totally against sin. God is a covenant God and the people broke his covenant. I believe that God is justified in his anger. He can do whatever He feels is right.
  11. I think that pride has crept in our daily lives and we want to think that we can do everything for ourselves. This is so untrue because with out our Lord, we wouldn't be anything. We thank him for the use of our hands to help us to provide for our families. We thank him for the job he has given us and the talent to do that job. We need to ask God for everything and thank him for what he has given us.
  12. I think that we hallow the name of Christ when we praise Him and worship Him. By hallowing his name we are reminded that he is the Holy One and sinless. We disrespect Him when we take his name in vain, ie: Lord, Jesus Christ, My God, and swear. We use so much of this in our daily language that it has unfortunately become a part of our language and we must strive to remember just who Jesus Christ is. When we begin to pray we can start with praising the names of God, like Jehovah, Shammah, Shalom, Nissi etc and then go in to how wonderful He is.
