  1. As a son of a carpenter, Jesus would learn carpentry skills, as well as business skills to effectively communicate with customers, entering into contracts and/or agreements to provide carpentry products and work. He would have been exposed to meeting people seeking his fathers work in addition to watching his father work with his hads, learning the value of hard, honest work. He would have experienced time alone with his father as they worked side by side.
  2. Blessed Virgin Mary and Mother of God are appropriate titles for Mary. She gave birth to our Lord. Scripture states she was a virgin. What a blessing to have such an honor. However, the reluctance comes for most of us when we realize that she, herself, was not divine, so we hesitate to exalt her too much
  3. Mary's response is one of humble submission to whatever God has planned for her. We can learn to be like her in allowing God to be the master and submitting to his rule in our lives. When we respond to God we consent to living as He would have us live, to obedience to what He wants us to do, to set aside our personal desires and take up His goals and plans for our lives.
  4. The virgin conception teaches that Jesus is both fully divine and fully human. This idea is central to Christain doctrine and theology
  5. Mary's response was one of wonder and faith. Zechariah's response was one of unbelief and doubt.
  6. Angel announced to Mary that she would bear a son and name him Jesus. He would be great and be called the Son of the Most High. The LORD GOD would give Him the throne of his ancestor David. He would rule forever over the house of Jacob and his kingdom will know no end.
  7. Good Morning. I am Cheryl, in Scottsbluff, Nebraska. This is my first study on this site, but I've done others. The internet is truly a blessing to those of us whho enjoy studying God's word. My husband and I have been married 21 years. This is my second marriage. Together we have four children and 8 grandchildren; 7 living. We lost a grandson to suicide this past summer. We greive and mourn our loss. I am looking forward to "chatting" with some of you. And preparing my heart for the celebration of our Lord's first advent.
