How should this knowledge affect our prayers and our boldness? To be seated with Christ in "heavenly realms means our union with Christ so that his action is our action, since we are in him. God's grace is more than just of foregiveness in the past put for right now in the present time as we live our lives, transforming ourselves and the live of those around us. vs. 6 helps us to understand that God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him and because of this we have spiritual authority over the enemy Because we already have the victory we should be confident in praying to him, giving him praise, thanking him and ask him to reveal to us our true hope, with our true inheritance and power.

If we really believed that they were "dead" and subject to God's "wrath," what would we do? Non-believers have no understanding of who they are and whose they are. Our absence can withol blessing from others that we might have the opportunity to fellowship with and help to encourage, build their faith.....
  14. Q4. (Ephesians 1:20-22) Why do we so often take a "pass" when it comes to spiritual warfare? Why is Christ's exaltation, demonstration of complete victory, and superior rank over all spiritual powers important enough for Paul to mention it to his readers? Why do we tend to feel powerless in the face of spiritual enemies? What was Paul assuring the Ephesians of? What does this encourage us to do? Lack of truly understanding things of the spiritual nature. Because the victory has already taken place. Because of what we can not see. There is power in Jesus and we should be encourage because he has already won the victory for us
  15. Q3. (Ephesians 1:18d) Why are we powerless sometimes? Is it an inadequacy with the source or with our faith? Why do some congregations and movements produce disciples with miracle-believing faith and others produce disciples with wimpy faith? How can this be changed? We are powerless because we don't see it or have enough faith. It is idadequate because of our faith Some congregations trust in His word, believe in His word, have faith in His word, while others can't see the truth. The way to change it is by teaching the word of God for what it really is...the truth.
  16. Q2. (Ephesians 1:18c) If you knew that in a few years you would inherit $10 million, would it affect your life now? How should our expectation of an inheritance in God's presence temper our present-day concerns? Since this inheritance will be shared with "the saints" -- our Christian family -- how should that affect our fellowship with them? If I knew that I was going to inherit $10m, it would not affect my life now and even then. I have in the past been blessed by lump sums of money and it has never changed me, in fact some in my family thought I was a fool for sharing it. Our expectatioof an inheritance in God's prescence should make us very much concerned and we should have a desire to live righteouse because of our reward in which is above all measures. The affect should be unconditional love
  17. 1. A firm HOPE 2. This HOPE should motivate us by being encouranging and assured whats to come. 3. We should live as we already have victory and we do because of the price Jesus paid or us. 4. 20. Q2. (Ephesians 1:9-10) What is the significance that all things will be brought under one head -- Christ himself? How does this relate to the Creator? What does it say about unity? Extra Credit: How does this verse relate to 1 Corinthians 15:24-28? The significance is that his mystery was revealed that we all will be brought together, all people around the world Jews and Gentiles, all things in heaven and in earth in one body with Christ as the head. It relates to the Creator because it is his mystery that was revealed to us, his plan that was predestined for us from the very beginning. Unity.....we will all be brought together, summed up...all things in heaven and in earth. 1 Corithians 15:24-28 relates to this verse as under one head. God the Father and God the Son are equal both having their special work to do. When God the Son work is done...defeating all evil and the purpose, the plan fulfilled he will hand over the kingdom to God.
  21. Q1. (Ephesians 1:7) In what sense have you been "redeemed" from slavery? What do you think your life up to now would have been like if you hadn't been redeemed? What would your future be like without redemption, do you think? I've been set free (redeemed) from my sins. I was alienated before I came to know God. Now that I know the Word and still learning I am tremedously happy to know that God has chosen us, adopted us and redeemed us from slavery. My life up to now would have been one that is lost. My future without redemption would be one that is dead.
  22. Q4. (Ephesians 1:5-6) Why is adoption a particularly apt illustration of God's relationship with us? Why is the concept of adoption encouraging to us? Because he loved us so much that he sent his "only begotten son" to pay the debt for us. In sin we could not inherit the kingdom but since the price was paid we are able to be his adopted sons and daugters. The concept of adoption is encouraging because he chose us.
  23. Q3. (Ephesians 1:4) What does it mean to be "holy"? In what sense can you stand "blameless" before God? To be holy means to be held sacred, to make something an object of honor. I can stand blamless in the sense that Christ died for us and paid the debt of our sins and because of that God can look upon us without sin.
  24. Q2. (Ephesians 1:4-5) What is scary about predestination? What is comforting? Why does Paul bring up predestination? Why do you think he praising God for it in the "hearing" of the Ephesians? It is not scary to me. But yet comforting to know that God has had a plan for us all the time. I believe that Paul brings up predestination to allow us to understand that we have a part in Gods plan. It was his purpose for us. Paul praises God because we are apart of his family.
  25. Q1. (Ephesians 1:3) What does it mean to you to be "in Christ" -- incorporated into Christ? What are the implications of this for your life? The meaning to be "in Christ" to me means to be one with "Christ". For me it represents that indwelling spirit of him that I have in me since the time I confessed him as my "Lord and Savior" and understand what he came here to do for all of us. The implications of this on my life has been to make the effort daily to die to myself and walk with his example while using the guidance of the word for my map. I pray to be decreased and he increased so that I might be an example for others to see how wonderful being here and how important it is to truly understand God's purpose and plan.
