  1. Q2. God purposely created us with a good and natural sexual desire. How do we distinguish between that God-given sexual desire and forbidden lus+? Any **** or longing outside of the marriage relationship that is allowed to persist is a dangerous place to be. God has promised us the Holy Spirit as guide and counsel and this would not be a place that He would lead the Believer into. The Believer has some responsibilty in this 1.) to pray and give the feeling over to God - make him the desire of your heart 2.) Like Joseph get yourself away from the object of ****. Don't even go back to get your coat. 2 Corinthians 10:4 (for the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but mighty before God to the casting down of strongholds), 5 casting down imaginations, and every high thing that is exalted against the knowledge of God, and bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ;
  2. Q3. (Matthew 5:28) What is wrong with pornogr*phy? What is wrong with going to prostitutes? Who are the victims of this "victimless" activity? *********** turns us away from the "Light" of God therefore diminishing the possibility of being "light in the world". The more time we spend outside of the plan and purposes of God the less like his Son Jesus we can be. We also must look at the affect this "worship" has on the home- our mates and children. An old friend often uses the quote "Garbage in, Garbage out." This is true even for a Christian man or woman, *********** leads us to settle for something less and thinking that is less than God's will for us. Prostitution devalues the life of the prostitute and their body which is created in the image of and designed to be a temple for our God. The victim becomes the prostitute and us as we once again turn away from God and the plan he had for men and woman. We must realize our soul becomes victim when we live in enmity with God's will.
  3. Q3. (Matthew 5:5) How does this sort of gentleness contrast with the world's ideal? the world generally operates with a get all you can get, fill your own belly first, fend for yourself attitudes and all this getting it doesn't matter who is in the way. The Christian is shown by the Savior that we are responsible for our neighbor. To Christ each one of us was the weaker "other" the "friend" who had a problem. ..He laid down his life for us. How is humility important to Christlikeness? Though he was God's son he took on himself the mind of a servant to rescue us from sin and death. He had all the power in the universe in his hands and yet was harmless even to those who persecuted and killed him. To those who have been given much, much is expected of them Luke 12:48.
  4. Q2. (Matthew 5:3-4) Why is it necessary to be aware of your spiritual poverty before you can become a Christian? Until we acknowledge the need for a Savior we can not be saved. It is part of agreeing with God that we have all sinned and fallen short of his glory. We are spiritually bankrupt without Christ we may be good by mans standards but we are still wretched in comparison to God. Jesus sacrifice justifies us in the eyes of God and the indwelling Spirit leads in ways pleasing to God. What kind of mourning is necessary for a person to become a Christian? Sorrow that leads to repentance. Repentance equalling not only sorrow that our sin has been discovered but a disgust for that sin that turns us away from it and a prayer for the grace of God that we may be victorious over that sin. What kind of mourning is a common experience of Christians? (See Isaiah 61:2-3; Ezekiel 9:4.) Sorrow for the sins of a nation and governments, the "missing the mark" of the people of God, weaknesses of the flesh.
  5. This is my first attempt at this sort of thing I hope this is near what you are looking for! Q1. (Matthew 5:3-11) Each Beatitude consists of two parts. What are these parts? Why do you think Jesus made each Beatitude aparadox? What is the relationship of the Beatitudes to the Fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23)? A.) What are these parts? The position (attitude or action) of a Believer/Seekers heart and the response of God. B.) Why do you think Jesus made each Beatitude a paradox? These are Easily remembered with maximum impact on the hearer! Also in Setting the stage for and introducing the "Kingdom of God" they help by describing the actions/attitudes of those in this Kingdom in contrast to those in the kingdoms of the world which is a reversal of the normal values of the community. C.) What is the relationship of the Beatitudes to the Fruit of the Spirit? If the beatitudes are descriptions and commendations of the good life, the requirements to be blessed or happy. Then the Fruit of the Spirit may be considered part of those blessings! The out growth of a life surrendered to God and his will and His Spirit. The "Light" and "Salt" of the Christian walk. In the "world" these things may be impossible but with God through the sacrifice of Jesus and the indwelling Holy Spirit we can put to death the old man, and crucify the flesh with its affections and lusts Gal 5:24 and walk in the Spirit... Holiness. Blessings
