  2. the ascension was 40 days after the resurrection. The resurrection is about the victory over death and the ascension is to the right hand of the Father-exaltation by his Father to the highest place.
  3. what about the grave clothes brought peter and john to faith? Peter ran straight into the tomb, John was hesitatant and then went in, the way the clothes were laying on the shelf, because Jesus just slipped through them, if his body had been stolen the clothes would either not be there or they would be in a pile and not laying as if a body had been in them. what was peculiar about them? the head piece was folded neatly, the linen from the body was laying there.
  4. The similarities are that women came to annoint the body, there was no body and they were told by angels that Christ had indeed risen as he told them that he would. Upon following instructions from the angels the women and Christ's disciples later encountered Christ when and where they were supposed to.
  5. There are 3 synoptic gospels Matthew, Mark and Luke they all tell of the resurrection account in there own way. Mark's was the earliest, Matthew was written with the Palestinan Jews in mind, and Luke speaks to the Hellinistic audience. John's perspective was mature in that it followed what was said, done and intended by Jesus himself.
  6. Because of hearing it straight from him and remembering stories about how other things had happened as he said they would. the disciples were not ready for Jesus to go they felt there was more that he could teach them. His enemies weren't sure so that is why the guards were posted at the tomb. His followers were ready for whatever was to happen, because he had taught them so much already.
  7. Jesus meant he was the giver of new life and giver of eternal life for those who believe in him. The role he will play is that the dead in Christ shall rise to eternal life and those who did not or do not believe will be condemed.
  8. job's vision is that there is life after death, we will see our redeemer wholy and completely. The Jews feel once dead there is nothing but darkness, gloom and we are gone forever. progressive revelation is that upon death knowing I might live again brings me hope and an eagerness to live right on earth to see what is waiting for me
