  1. Pigs and dogs were both seen as unclean animals in the times of Jesus. Holy Food and Pearls had value in this time. Conditional Giving - you would not be wise if you gave something valuable to someone who abused and rejectes the gift; you would give the gift to those that recognized the value. It is the same with witnessing. Opportunity and Holy Spirit prompting often works, rather than using your witness as judgement tool or weapon..
  2. The visual image of a man even seeing anything with a plank in his eye really reflects the humour. All sin offends God but perhaps using the measure of speck and plank reveals the level of sin. When we have gone to God, acknowledged our sin, repented and have allowed the grace and forgiveness into the situation then we can come alongside our brothers and guide them to seek God.
  3. A Mirror falls before us. God will bring the measure that we use on others on ourselves. I need a bucketful of Grace so for me the challenge would be to meet every judgement situation with that in mind. Also not to extend this boundary that I also need to disern and become like 'my brother's keeper'. Talk about balancing plates. But this is our walk to chew on these situations with 'Father' and let the Holy Spirit lead us into the Righteousness.
  4. Much to process in this area. Certainly I found this study to be really relevent. Again back to taking thoughts' prisoner. To interrogate them (especially in reference to fault finding) and perhaps to chew it over with the Lord before proceeding in any direction. What an opportunity to re-evaluate one's own situation. Thank you for bringing this to me. Much work to be done.
  5. Tomorrow never comes. Notice that. Why dwell outside the timeline that God has defined for us. Living in the moment guided by the Holy Spirit is ideal. Jesus knows we are human and his projection shows this. Worry is not anything of God and reflects the lack of faith we feel at the moment. Worry is the invitation to lay it on the altar.
  6. Seeking first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness is the instruction given rather than to forage in the physical realm for the needs of the flesh. By seeking first God we often find that he reveals HIs plan for us and shows us how it will unfold in faith and trust. This is the promise He will meet the need - abundantly. It becomes the constant dialogue with Father - am I in your will.
  7. God gives good things to all his children. When we believe in Christ it alters how we see things. Their is a bigger picture when you look at the dynamics of everlasting life through Christ and also knowing God. Trust and Faith need to prevail against the fear of want. Fear turns into worry and Jesus advised us not to worry and to live each day in God. All needs, circumstances, events, and trials create an expression of our precious gift of free will. We choose to know who is the giver, and what the situation can produce. In my life positive viewing of trials alters my perception. I need to go to God to see what it is really about. Pagans do not acknowledge the true source, live in fear and are totally insattiable.
  8. Jesus reminds us of our need not to worry. That God knows all about all. He cares about all things and looks after them and we do not need to be concerned only to trust the Father in Heaven. Our needs are met.
  9. For somany years I lived in the dark and lived in the Fear of want. When God showed me what he wanted me to do and provided all that I needed I knew that it is about Him and not me. Sure occasionally if feel the gap between needs and greeds , the fear of growing old and being really in a bad place but he is my Provider and I shall not want.
  10. I beleive that Jesus meant this deliberately. I believe that it is wrong to keep your hands closed to not receive a blessing. God knows who you are and if you seek His heart He will reveal to you what to do with the wealth given to you. The key is to know the wealth that you have in Him and it might be translated into an abundant crop but it is up to God what to do with this.
  11. I am going back to an Audience of One.....the treasures that we store I believe are kindness, thoughtfulness, grace and uncondtional love. Each day we are given the opportunity to make hundreds of choices, the easy, feel good choices are often rewarded in the earthly realm, the harder intentional choices are invested in the heavenly realm. The truth of the heart motive does need to be investigated and often God directs us in how to handle the situation. The advantage of this is that the 'interest' pays off in the earthly realm in being closer to God and being blessed. Seeds planted bring harvests. I think we are uncomfortable with the concepts of rewards in heaven because it is like the parable of the rich fool we would like to just eat , drink and make merry and coast and think that as long as we say Jesus is Lord we will have everything. Their is a judgement.
  12. Jesus was very specific about what he was teaching. We need to define what we are seeking and how and where we are going to place it. A treasure might differ but earth and heaven are understood and one's direction is targetted. Again it is a choice that we have to make. I beleive that this is an old testament teaching and those around Jesus would comprehend totally what he was meaning.
  13. I think that the problem is the thinking of the farmer he gives no consideration to give to God or man in need only to his own greed. He did not acknowledge the source of his fortune or pray what to do. His treasure were in his thoughts of greed and the outcome of his thoughts were to eat drink and be merry. This relates to the Sermon on the Mount in knowing what realm we really are in.
