  1. That we have one who speaks to the Father in our defense - Jesus Christ, the Righteous One. It comforts us to know that He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, not only our sins, but the sins of the whole world.
  2. I would define confession as an open and public acknowledgment of wrongdoing and/or sins. Confessing our sins is important because it sets us free from the bondage of sin and deception. When we stop confessing our sins we become bound to that sin which is holding us captive. The promises that are given when we confess our sins is twofold: (1) He will forgive our sins (to release us completely from our sins); (2) He will purify us from all unrighteousness (to make or declare clean). Forgiveness of sins is our relationship with the Father - whereas cleansing concerns our character.
  3. 1. The result is that we are liars and do not live by the truth. 2. It involves self-deception because we are not only lying to others, but also to ourselves. 3. We have fellowship with one another and the blood of Jesus purifies us from all sin.
  4. Fellowship with other Christians is often surface level because of fear and trust. Most people live in a box in which they rarely come out and they don't let anyone in. Only through the Word of God can we have a deeper level in Christ. To deepen my level of fellowship and relationship with other believers, I believe, is dependent upon how much time I spend with the Lord and studying His Word.
  5. Like all Christians, we are tempted to become indifferent to God's Word. Because of carelessness and indifference, we may easily begin to pay less attention to God's warnings. We must pay close attention to God's Word, our relationship to Christ and the leading of the Holy Spirit. That good seeds will be planted but the evil one comes alongside and snatches it away.
  6. The Son is the radiance of God's glory and the exact representation of his being. Because he took his place of authority at God's right hand.
  7. In the past God used the prophets as his instrument of revelation, but now has spoken or revealed himself to us by His Son Jesus Christ, who is supreme over all things. The Son's words have more weight than the prophets because absolutely nothing has greater authority than Christ.
