It is very "bitter" to think of all the things that will happen to humans who refuse to turn towards the Light of God. Sometimes, in our human forms it is so much "easier" to turn towards others and think of their ways as God's ways.....We lose track of GOD and who GOD really is.......That is bitter to me......That one can take the ways of the world and at first they might taste "sweet" in the mouth but by the time one has really consumed them throughout their body, these ways taste "bitter". It is a bitter lesson to learn how much humans who are "in sin" must go through now and during the coming days per these chapters in Revelation. What is sweet to me is knowing that there is "honey in the rock".....REAL honey in the rock......the kind that truly soothes the bitterness that can be found in the world through the sweetness of Christ Jesus. Our loads are heavy but we are told in scripture to take Christ's load on our shoulders for it is easier than the load of sin that we carry on our shoulders. When Christ was crucified there were Roman soldiers who stood around his cross. Is it possible some of them believed even then and turned away from the blackness of sin which would cover the earth? The sign of the dark cloud is gone now but the darkness of sin remains. This sin must be cleansed and removed from our Earth and that brings agony for those who will not turn to Christ so that they can be made new creatures by being washed clean before these events occur. For those who have been an active part of sin and "by their fruits you will know them" and refuse to turn from their sins just like the Soldiers who crucified Jesus and did not repent the cleansing will be horrible indeed. Maybe when Christ "wipes our tears" dry, gone from our spirits will be the "thoughts" of those who did not make it to heaven. I don't know that but I can see how that could be possible. (Revelation 7:1-4) There's disagreement about exactly who the 144,000 represent. Let's not debate that, but look deeper. From 7:1-4 what do we learn about God? Read Ezekiel 9, then answer: What is this seal supposed to do for the 144,000? There are always great answers here! I know for me personally some of these questions make me "dig a little deeper". I don't want to take someone else's answer as my own without studying to "show myself approved as a workman unto God". First, there is no way this can be the "only" ones redeemed due to the following verses. One thing we learn about God is that God knows who those twelve tribes are in today's time. With the records having been destroyed in fire in Jerusalem, we as a human people have lost valuable records telling us where they went. The tribe of Dan is gone....God knows why....No matter what else we see, we note that God puts his seal on those who belong to him. This is strictly from the Tribe of Israel. Does that mean that only those who are from the Tribe of Israel will be protected? What I do know for sure is that "he who endures to the end will be saved......" to see prove that others will also be saved, one must read further in this chapter, however. So, here I will cease writing on this question.

Q2. (Revelation 6:9-11) What do we learn about the Church from what is revealed in the Fifth Seal? Where are these "souls" at the time of this scene? What does their proximity to the altar signify? Why were they killed? Why do they ask for vengeance? Is that a Christian prayer? What does the white robe represent? What do we learn from their instruction to "wait a little longer"? First, I'm glad there are a lot of good answers here before mine. ".....the souls that had been slain....." I wonder if this really is talking about a physical death or if it's talking about a "death to the world" as we give up our lives to Christ Jesus. One thing we know is we are covered with rightousness and become "new creations" through Christ Jesus. Let's say for those of us who are still in the world......our Spirits cry out in agony, "How much longer Lord until you make things right here?" What prayer could be more just? Vengeance against Evil......sometimes we want to take this vengeance in our own hands but we are to pray and leave it to Christ. We serve to point the way not to try to wipe out all evil from the earth since we as human beings cannot do this. We can be faithful even as far as physical death as so many have done and will continue to do. We grow tired of seeing such things as abortion and so many sins running wildly throughout our world. For sure, there have been many Christian martyrs and there will be more. However, I see this verse not only addressed to them but to ALL flesh that will choose the "death of Christ" and then be clothed "anew". The instruction to "wait a little longer" reminds me that "all things according to their appointed time...." When God says "it is time" then it is time. Can we by our own desire bring someone into this world? Can we even give ourselves the breath we breathe? God is all powerful and knows the time....we must continue on our Journey until we are called home and strive to be a faithful servant.

All one has to do in this world is look around to see evil. The Bible tells us by "their fruit" you will know them. There are those who claim to be good and yet do horrible deeds ie abortion and many other sins that must be horrible for God to see since they are so horrible for Christians to have to see. As in the chapter where the Saints are being tortured, that's happening right now even in America! It's really sad to be part of what was once such a Great Nation. People WILL be brought to their knees......However, before this can happen, the seals must be broken so that action can begin. Christ did not cause anyone harm but rather salvation. He is the ONLY ONE who can open the path to heaven for anyone and is the only one that can open these seals. I think the "just" part comes from destroying EVIL....If one will not even attempt to turn from their "sins" then how can Christ reach out to them? Action will be taken to STOP EVIL that is in the world, finally. How can anything be more just? It's not up to us to even try to understand who will be harmed or how it will happen. The only thing we can do as individuals is turn to Christ Jesus, the one who is worthy. Therein, we can be saved from the sins of this world. All we need do is look around and we will see those sins. Since the time of Adam and Eve, sin has become inherent into our makeup. Only with the love of Christ Jesus can we fully walk in the light and know that we are not part of the evil that is in the world.

As humans, we have negative "traits" such as Jealousy and Envy......Here, we see the Father and Son fully glorified without need for those types of negative emotions or reactions. They are truly ONE and as true spiritual beings we are part of that oneness. You cannot be jealous in a rational way or have these other negative qualities toward yourself! *smiles* So, what we see is TRUE Spirit and Beauty here......Praise God!

On Earth we have various denominations of Christanity. There are many Sheep but only one Shepherd now. Someday, we wont need to find many different pastures to graze from for our Spirits but we will be in Heaven and worship in Truth and Love. We will be UNITED as ONE. Even with the many denominations, we are a "Kingdom" because we are Christ's own. We have chosen Christ AND Christ chose us. What a beautiful thought this is to me! When it comes to reigning, we know "Those who are first will be last and those who are last will be first." Every person who follows after Christ reigns as they serve just like Jesus did when he washed his Disciples feet. We must strive to serve not just be served.

It is the through Grace of the Cross and the price paid for our lives that we are enabled to go to heaven. There are TWO types of religion in the world essentially. One teaches that a person can "earn" their way to Heaven. The other teaches that only through Grace of Jesus can we go to Heaven. That is what sets Christians apart and that is what sets Jesus apart and on high and worthy of all praise.

Holy Holy Holy Lord God Almighty is a BEAUTIFUL hymn. We have so many beautiful worship songs that are tied to Revelations. God is good and loves us and provides ways for us to reach his kingdom in ways that not only help us understand his majesty but also help us reach his loving embrace of holiness!

ANSWER: This is explained in the final verses of Chapter 3: "Those whom I love I rebuke and discipline. So be earnest and repent.20 Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me. 21 To the one who is victorious, I will give the right to sit with me on my throne, just as I was victorious and sat down with my Father on his throne. 22 Whoever has ears, let them hear what the Spirit says to the churches.” We only need repent and open the door to Christ. It isn't easy to live a Christian life. However, we are promised great rewards for being victorious. What could be greater than setting with Christ. It's wise always to remember, "Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and always. JESUS is on the THRONE!" No society or church can remove us from this promise if we simply hold fast to this knowledge. We cannot buy into lies or other falsities. It is the Truth we must seek after.......Praise be to GOD!

Q4. Why are so many churches a "hotbed of apathy"? How can we combat spiritual apathy and an insipid witness in ourselves? I think traditions are fine and some are highly desirable. Seems like most churches think they have to do things the "new fangled way". You know, old fashioned religion was good enough for generations and it's good enough for me, too. I really DO NOT like how so many churches have gone to the overhead for music ALL THE TIME. Our gospels and hymns have a magnificent history and are worthy ways to praise GOD and glorify GOD. There is certainly nothing wrong with using overhead but it doesn't have to be the ONLY thing people do to keep themselves full of Joy and Glory. Being supportive of what exists and being supportive of new changes is essential in a healthy, growing church. I have searched (still am) for a church that uses the old hymns or gospels in their services. They don't seem to be existent they all think they need to change and go with this new form of music which really turns me off sometimes. You see, I have a log in my own eye about this. I need to remove my log........However, I also think there are people out there like me who would like to see some of the traditions stay alive and well. This is motivation for them and thus allows them to be more of a Joyful witness full of beauty and faith.....bubbling over with the GOODNESS of God's LOVE

While we are to LOVE our neighbor which would include Society of people we are NOT to participate in the SINS that our neighbor/society of people is/are committing. Homosexuality is alive as never before. Our churches are filling up with active homosexuals whose sin is horrible to God according to the Bible. We are not to condone such sin and we are to turn away from it. If the people practicing this type of sin do not change we are to do as the Bible says and have no further communication with them. We have done all we could do to help them turn to the Light of God's LOVE which can fulfill all our needs. In today's society, even the churches often would say this type of behavior is acceptable. READ your Bible and you will see the Truths for yourself. We struggle with broken relationships and how to continue life after we have endured these. We struggle with how we help people but we are not overcome with their sins and thus we ourselves are not lured back into the world. Often, if we don't accept certain practices in our modern world we are scorned and not accepted just as the Christians during the time frame Revelations was written. The more we change as a society, the more we often stay the same. The real KEY lies as always in Christ's hand. That is who can really help us change and live as we should. Right now, our society is helter skelter. In the military, for example, homosexuality is now an accepted part. Sin should never be accepted into our society but it's running rampid right now. In order to join the service, you might be forced to bunk with a homosexual. It's really NOT popular to be a Christian in today's society and we are penalized in many ways for being one.

I am a Nurse and aware of the Anatomy of the Human Body. To me, it is obvious that male and female were created to "cleave together as one unit"ie "one flesh"......God does LOVE us all. The sinner IS LOVED but we are to turn away from the sin.We are expected to live as close to the way God ordained as possible and that means NO to Divorce; Homosexuality and other Sins that are horrible for God's eyes to behold. In our Society, Ministers try to say it's "ok" to be homosexual. That's not what the Bible says. If you DARE speak up in this society against homosexuality, you are condemned as being "cruel". When you accept Christ, you become a new Creation and leave those sinful ways behind. It doesn't mean that we become perfect but our life styles begin to go under a Major Transformation so that we are more of the beings that GOD created us to be not to continue sinning. When we have sinned we turn to God and ask for forgiveness and this is always granted from our loving Father. However, we want to live in a way to bring God honor. There are many churches out there in today's time that don't stand up for the Truth. YES you can be forgiven and YES that gives you a whole new lease on life. No church has the right to hold past sins against us because Christ doesn't. However, we also don't surround ourselves with Ministers and such who will tell us what we want to hear not what the word of God has to say. We walk with LOVE and in LIGHT of what is RIGHT not what we wish was RIGHT.

Ahhhhhhh "FIRST LOVE".........Remember the excitement and the sheer thrill of being IN LOVE the FIRST time around.......This LOVE is like the "Garden of Eden" but we lose it when we take our eyes off the GROOM and put them on issues or any other slant of sight. Our eyes were created to stay on JESUS our GREAT LOVE. Our GREAT LOVE yearns to fill us with power and strength for the Journey of Life. When we "forget" when we start noticing that our love may squeeze the toothpaste the wrong way or that following Christ isn't always a "bed of roses" and we become distracted we have lost the ZEAL of our first love. We become busy with other objects. We could even be taking our LOVE for granted. We don't take time to be with our LOVE and actively WORK on our relationship to make it even stronger and better. We find fault.....and we move away in one form or another. We can tell when genuine signs of love for Jesus are present because it isn't a "rote" type of thing where "Oh yeah, I'm married now.....so the excitement is gone........" The fall from the Garden of Eden is complete.....We actively live our faith just like Corrie Ten Boom or Mother Theresa did. Not that we have to be as "great" as they were but in our own way in Christ's eyes we are! "We bloom where we are planted" We serve as God gives us ways to serve......and with a happy and Joyful HEART. Others notice this great LOVE because it bubbles over in our lives. When one member is "feeling down" we encourage each other just like in a marriage. We are truly part of each other. When we forget that we are one body of Jesus's Joyful LOVE that is beyond human comprehension even to the point of suffering physically but rising above spiritually , our love is lost and we only go through the "motions". To regain this love, it may take counseling through God's word. In this case, it was Jesus's words reminding this church to "return to their roots" of loving kindness and Joy. We often shift away into the world and lose our roots of Christanity. As a congregation, we must be careful to serve with Jesus's love. I was turned off by hypocrisy in the church at an early age. When others notice this type of SERVING FOR GLORY OF SELF they become blind to the LOVE that JESUS really IS. As a church, we must guard against these types of activities. When someone is new, we welcome them into our fold with open arms just like Jesus would. What would Jesus do? When we as a congregation live like Jesus, we will joyfully celebrate the fact that Jesus loves us and we love Jesus, IF there is hypocrisy, we turn to Christ and ask for ways to root it out of the church. We ask for God's guidance and clarity so that we may serve with Joy and Love form the heart. We actively seek to serve God with a loving heart and with praise and work diligently to serve God as the body of Christ on Earth.

This shows me that Christ's Spirit is ALIVE in the Churches. The Churches who do not honor this Spirit of Christ will pay the price as they are not worthy of being his "Bride". How does a Groom interact with his Bride? With loving and caring gentleness from the heart. This is how Christ walks amongst the Churches. If the Churches choose to turn away from Christ and not honor this love, it will be just like a Bride turning away from her Husband. How can she do this and remain a loving Bride? The churches are thus being given direction on how they are to respond to their "Groom's" love. In our modern world, many have turned away from the truths. Few are left who cling to the Truths that come from Christ. However, it doesn't change the fact that Christ still is present. We may see humans in the "church" who don't "act" like they should in Christian LOVE. That's not where our eyes are to be placed. We look at the GROOM the JESUS CHRIST for direction in our lives. We don't put our eyes even on the "church" but instead on Christ who is meant to be the LOVE as in the "Heart" of the Church.

We see the difference between HUMAN BODY and SPIRIT in this case of Jesus our Lord. Our Jesus is in the midst of his churches now in the Spiritual form instead of only the Physical form and continues teaching them through John and telling them what they must do to reach the level he is at since the Church will be "HIS Bride". Maybe it helps us to think of Jesus in the "physical" and "spiritual" since physical also holds us back and limits us. We ourselves are witnesses that the Spirit of Jesus has overcome all. When we die in Christ, we likewise have "overcome" all things that are "physical" as in the things that would hold us back. The Bible says, "Pray always....The Spirit is willing but the flesh is weak......" We can SEE this fact in this scripture that tells us Christ has OVERCOME and is VICTORIOUS in Spirit now. We, likewise, are to follow his example. By keeping our eyes on Christ that is especially the Spirit of Christ and always seeking to learn more about this Christ we will be given the power to overcome in Spirit as well! Our flesh will turn back into dust but our Spirits will reign victorious with our Creator King. We do not fear death. Our "fear" is only of our AWESOME Creator who is over all and who will bring us into his own being. When we look at the Ocean we have a healthy "awareness" that tells us the Ocean is mighty and can do many things both good and bad. So, it is with our Creator. We know that our Creator is capable of doing ALL things. How could we not find this totally "Awesome" and in an intelligent way, "fear provoking"? Our fear of hell is removed as we fear our Creator in his AWESOME ALL THAT IS the great I AM only.

It is certain we will have trouble in this world but this world is not our home. Throughout this world, persecution of Christians exist in one form or another. Even here in the United States of America, there is a LOT of persecution. We have had prayer removed from school. We see many forms of horrible actions around us but we are not to "pray" about it in a way that might offend others as in calling on the name of Christ. What really "stood out" to me is when this Author John wrote, "patience of Jesus Christ" in one version this translated to, "quiet strength of Jesus"..... We grow weary in our lives here, we yearn for our Spirit's true home. We can lean on the quiet strength of Jesus his patience will never fail us and is always there for us. It is the human part of us that gives us trouble and difficulty. Our Spirit yearns for the closeness of Jesus.....the ability to know that we truly are leaning on that gentle strength. This strength will NEVER fail us because it comes from the Great "I AM" who has always been. People can misunderstand us and persecute us but they cannot take our Spirits from us. There is a verse in the Bible that states,(King James Bible ; Cambridge Ed.) "And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell." We are not even to fear hell. Our Creator has paid the price and will not suffer our foot to be moved as long as we keep our eyes on our Creator. ......Why would we want to take our eyes off Jesus who is everything there is now and always?

For my own life, v. 8 tells me that our Creator is EVERYTHING from beginning to end of all that is and will be. That means I don't need anything else......I am his Creation and all things are known to our Creator. He is so HOLY we cannot in our own essence as human beings begin to fully understand how Great this being is. When we come into this Creator's essence, we too will fall on our knees. Through the LOVE of this Creator that we call Jesus, we are given reassurance and a Love so Deep that it is beyond human understanding. I learned a long time ago not to worry about what I call the "conjunctions" of God. Just TRUST and know that his love will be sufficient for any need this lowly human might have. Despite my faults and flaws, it is through his Grace that I find my way home and into safety beyond anything this world can ever offer us.

Testimony and witness are important because they show God's LOVE in ACTION. Even as a child I remember my Dad testifying, "God is still on the throne." When I get depressed with the condition of the world, this memory gives me renewed hope with the knowledge that this world is NOT my home.It is a valley of tears and Christians are being persecuted today. In America, we are persecuted just not in extreme physical ways as of yet. . In today's time, Christanity also is not NEW like it was in those days. This makes it worse in some ways. The reason I say that is many negative things have been done in the name of Christ or under the "Christian banner" that does not exemplify the LOVE that Jesus taught. Jesus is the EXAMPLE and the "faithful witness" because he always taught LOVE. The greatest commandment is to "LOVE". Christ witnessed to those who were not "lovely" and in fact were often considered "scum" in their communities. They chose to change and follow the teachings of Christ's LOVE. I do wonder how it was for them. After all, they were in the midst of "life's circumstances" and had to survive also. Many became Evangelists and gave their lives to this cause. However, some continued living life as in the woman at the well who had been married so many times and Christ forgave her telling her to "Go and Sin no more". She couldn't totally change her circumstances of life. How did her actions change? Did she struggle like I struggle and other Christians struggle to change with love of God at the core of her being? When I was about six years old, I invited Christ into my heart at my Sunday School Teacher's invitation. When I told my Mother she wasn't excited though she was a strong Christian. What I didn't know was she didn't think it was "possible" due to the "age of accountability." However, what they forgot was JESUS is LOVE. He, himself said, "Let the little children come unto me and forbid them not for such is the Kingdom of Heaven." It is the childlike wonder and love that we must be witnesses of. For me, the reason it's hard to witness in this culture is the concern that I will not be "understood". I don't want someone to think I am a "Bible Thumper who can't understand......" Man, I've been rebellious and been down just about any road you want to talk about. HOWEVER, even in the self made hell I created, Christ's LOVE reached me. THAT is what I want to share....I don't want to come off as "I am better than you because I am a Christian." Truth is, I am worse than so many people.......It's only the LOVE of Christ that has given me new Hope and Reason to continue to live. IF I can share this in a way that touches other people's lives without "turning them off"....Then, that is what I want to do. I think I'm overly concerned that I will "turn someone off". I was way turned off by church for many rebellious years. After what I'd seen other so called Christians do, I threw out the "baby" with the bath water. I know what it's like not to want to have anything to do with this "religion stuff". Also, I don't want people looking at my life and thinking, "SHE is a Christian?" I fail a lot. I know I don't always live like I should. I do the best I can and I know God is working on me. I know there's a long way to go for me to be the creation he intended. I try to share with people, "Don't look at me. Put your focus on the God of LOVE because I am human. Humans including myself can fail you. GOD never can. Sometimes I pray, "Lord, I am willing and I do believe. Help my unwillingness and unbelief........You are LOVE and i adore YOU!" That to me is the essence of this scripture.

Hi all participants! I'm absolutely delighted to be here! I searched long and diligently to find the Revelations Bible study that I wanted to be involved with. I live in Iowa but have been to all 50 states. I can tell you from that experience that God created beauty in each state. Every one always asks me my favorite state and I just am not sure. North Dakota would be my least favorite at this time. I was a Registered Nurse but was injured at the VA. So, am now on disability but thanks to a spinal stimulator I have a new lease on life. As far as my involvement with the Bible, I guess you could almost say I "toothed" on the word of God. However, I was forced in ways that caused me to throw out the baby with the bath water. I rebelled for many years. Mine is a long story but interesting for those who want to lend an ear.However, I have talked enough. It's time for me to put my focus on this study. Again, I'm absolutely delighted to be part of this study! Thank you so very, very much for the opportunity.
