(Romans 6:3-4) In Paul's reference to baptism in 6:3-4, what does "buried" (6:4a) correspond to in the act of baptism? Baptism is acting as death, hence we are baptized we die the we are buried with Jesus through the baptism. What does "Christ was raised from the dead" (6:4b) correspond to in baptism? After baptism, we live a new life, just as Christs was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father. Q3. (Romans 6:1-7) Is Paul referring to a figurative "death" to sin, or to a kind of historical, actual death? He is referring to a figurative death. Whose death is he talking about? Jesus Christ, our risen Lord. How does this death become our own? Through his death we were justified and reconciled with him.

Q2. (Romans 5:13, 20) What is Paul saying in these verses? In verse 13 Paul is saying that the sin existed even before the law, and in 20 Paul is saying that law come for the sin to imputed. For without the law the sin cannot be imputed. Can there be sin without law? Yes, through the sin of Adam of Disobedient, sin entered the world. In what sense does the "trespass increase" (5:20) when the law is present? It becomes visible

Q4. (Romans 5:9-10) What does "reconciliation" mean? To make peace, to have harmony to turn from enemies and become friends. These were able to achieve through the death of Jesus. Why is reconciliation with God necessary? Because there now there is not condemnation for those who have been reconciled with God. We understand our having been saved by Jesus' death (5:10a, past tense). In what sense are we being saved (5:10b, present tense) by his life? We shall be saved by his life. What is Jesus doing for us in the present? He is interceding for us

For Abraham because of his faith, he was counted righteous, and because of his righteousness he was justified. For us, we have trusted in the promises of Christ, because of the trust we have been justified and out justification is through faith hence through our faith in Christ we are justified. To me as Justice is when you are honesty, or righteous to be justified to me is to be found innocent, without a case to answer. In Christ to be under not judgment because you your are counted righteous through Christ.
