  1. a single person acting for an entire group would be the president, parents ,a ships captain. The members of the group are tied because, what ever dicision is made on behave of all, and the group has to accept or suffer the consiquences of the leaders actions.
  2. If you are not aware of your need you won't seek a solution. If you don't know your sick you won't look for a cure. If someone chooses to follow Christ for any other reason than that they are a sinner in need of a savior, that they are seperated from God and only Christ can bridge the gap, in time they will fall away or feel unfilled because they were most likely seeking an experience, and not a relationship based on need. In order to become a true follower of Christ, we must morn over our own short comings ( all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God), if one doesn't believe or care about this short coming they will not be a true follower of Christ, but perhaps religious. Christians should morn over lost souls, we should morn over sin and the effects of sin and death. We should morn for those who live by the law, for the law brings death, but Christ is the fulfilment of the law and brings grace, mercy and forgiveness.
  3. The two parts are who can be blessed and what the blessing is. Jesus made each Beatitude a paradox or contradiction, because he wanted to show how much the Kingdom of heaven is not like the kingdoms of the world. Only those who are lacking will seek to be filled, the holy spirit then will fill us and produce the fruits of the spirit. He who is not lacking, is not searching to be filled, won't be filled with the holy spirit and can not produce fruits of the spirit. Many people in the world do good things, but only the spirit of God can produce the fruit of God.
  4. reconciliation means brought into harmony with someone we were enemies with. The bible says while we were God's ememies Christ died for us, when we accept the work of Christ's death we a brought into harmony(reconciled) to God. We are saved by Jesus' life in the sense that he now makes intercession for us, because Jesus is in heaven he could send the comforter, the Holy Ghost who leads us into all truth. Presently Jesus sits at the right hand of God making intercession for us. Just as Abraham interceded with God for Lot's life, so Jesus intercedes with God for us.
  5. If Christ died for us when we were ar our worst, we can dispel the taunts of the devil and not feel God is going to leave us or throw us out anytime we mess up. God knows we are not perfect, but being perfected.
  6. WE rejoice in suffering because we know it builds perseverace, character and hope. If we suffer for nothing than there is no reason to rejoice, but our sufferings have a purpose, so we rejoice. As Christ suffered so shall we. Paul counted it all joy to suffer for Christ's sake. perseverance- means we can go through without losing our minds and falling apart. We can endure with patience, knowing that this too shall pass, if God be for me who can be against me? Character- what we hold fast too. When all is well in your life it's easy to speak of faith, but the true test is when you are suffering, your convictions or lack thereof will come shining thru. hope- that which we know will be. Our hope of heaven is not as a wish, but as a firm belief in that which we know to be, but have not yet seen.
  7. Hi everyone, My name is Monique, I'm glad to have found this study site. God has been doing wonderful things in my life, and I just keep seeking him, through the word and hungering after him. I look forward to learning, meditating on the word and hearing all of your responses. May we all continue to bless God.
  8. Abraham was justified by his faith in God,the bible says Abraham believed God and it was counted to him as righteousness. I often hear people say they believe in God, that is not the same as believing God. We (christians) believe God, that Christ died on the cross to take away our sins and so we were made righteousness. Justification in my words is to be made right with God, we are now in a right relationship with God, living in his wisdom, his healing, his supplication, his faithfulness, his glory. In him do we live, breath and have our being.
