  1. . (Psalm 95:1-7) How many names, titles, and metaphors of God can you find in this passage, both explicit and implicit? What does the Psalmist call on us to do in response to God revealed in his Names? Why are these actions appropriate? I have found the name Lord, Rock, King, Maker. We are to sing for joy to the Lord, shout aloud to the rock, come before Him with Thanksgiving. Extol Him with music and song. Bow down and worship Him. Kneel before Him because He is God our creator, Maker, Lord, King of our salvation and He made everything. This action is appropriate because we were made to worship Him, and if we don't the rocks will cry out. He is worthy of all our worship and praise and adoration.
  2. Q2. What inherent rights does a Potter, Creator, or Maker have over what he has created? How should that effect our lives, our self-image, our sense of purpose? He is Lord over the created thing. We should look to God, who made us fr our total existence. We were made in His image, ( Genesis 1:27). Therefore, we are fearfully and wonderfully made. (Psalm 139:14) New International Version (NIV) We have purpose because God has told us, I 11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. (Jeremiah 29:11)
  3. Q1. (Isaiah 45:9-12) Why is it ridiculous for a pot to second-guess the Potter? How do we Christians do this? What is a better attitude and behavior before our Creator? Because the Potter is the Maker/The Creator of the pot. We wonder why God is not doing something that we think that we should do. The better attitude is to wait expectantly on Him and to honor Him in all that we do.
  4. Q3. (Isaiah 44:6; Revelation 1:8) What does the idea of "first" and "last" tell you about God? How does Revelation 1:8 relate to God's revelation to Moses, "I AM THAT I AM"? He is the beginning and end. Time is in His hands. He is Time. He is which is , which was and which is to come. He is the almighty. Who can be compared to Him? No one.
  5. Isaiah 57:15) What do you think it is like to "inhabit eternity"? I really don't know, as the song by Mercy Me says, " I can only imagine" I will live forever with everlasting joy and peace and will be in His presence always What will it be like when you inhabit eternity with the Eternal God, seated with Christ Jesus in heavenly places? What emotions does this inspire in you? It has to be more than wonderful. The wonderful there cannot compare to the wonderful here. And, to be with Christ Jesus, the one who died for me sins. Oh, thank God that Jesus Christ loved me enough to sacrifice His life for mine. Happiness and joy are the emotions that are inspired in me and oh yes, peace.
  6. Q1. (Exodus 3:1-15) What does God's name Yahweh reveal about his person and his power? How would an understanding of Yahweh's name contrast him with the idols worshipped by the Egyptians? Yahweh reveals that God is the One who is, the One who will always be. The idols worshiped by the Egyptians were not everlasting. They had not always existed.
  7. Q5. How should the knowledge that the battle is the Lord's affect the way we approach life? We should be submissive and look to God for guidance. In what way do both timidity and brashness get it wrong? We can certainly become too passive and in being brash we can get into pride and fight with our own strength. Then God will have no choice but to back away and look at us fight and lose. Are there any instances in which the Lord will not fight our battles? If we are not is His will, He cannot and will not fight for us.
  8. Q4. (Exodus 17:9-16) In what sense was Moses' rod like a signal pole in this battle? Moses used his rod as a rallying point for the troops. In what sense is the LORD our banner in the battles we face? Because we look to Him in the battles that we face.
  9. Q3. (Matthew 26:53) Why did Jesus not call on the heavenly host in the Garden of Gethsemane? Because this is a battle that He had to fight alone. The Righteousness for the unrighteousness, to bring us to God, the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world. What happens when does he does call on the heavenly hosts? (Revelation 19:11-16) The armies of the heavens will follow Him, riding on white horses and dressed in fine linen. He treads the winepress of the fury of the wrath of God Almighty.
  10. Q2. (2 Kings 6:13-17) Why was Elisha's servant afraid? What was the difference between Elisha and his servant? Because he could not see with his natural eyes. What does it take for our eyes to be opened? God has to open our eyes. How can 1 John 4:4 strengthen you in your spiritual battle? It helps me to know the the Greater One is on the inside of me and that He will go with me into battle. He is my confidence.
  11. Q1. (Joshua 5:13-15) Why did the Commander say he was on neither side? Because God is on the side of those who are following His plans. What is the significance of this? Because God is the Commander In Chief, not Israel. What did Joshua feel like during this encounter? How did he feel after this encounter? Joshua felt confident, because God told him that he would be with him and to be strong and courageous and do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.
  12. Q4. Meditate on the titles "King of Glory" (Psalm 24:7-10) and "Father of glory" (Ephesians 1:17). What do they tell us about God? How should they affect our attitudes as we worship God? According to 2 Corinthians 3:18, how does God's glory come to fill our lives? He is Distinction. He is Honor. There is no one besides Him that deserves all the honor and the glory. As we worship God, we need to know that we are worshipping the Supreme One. The only One who is worthy of all honor and praise. God's glory fill our lives as we worhip and honor Him. We can worship and honor Him by living a life of obedience.
  13. Q3. Meditate on the phrase "High and Lofty One who inhabits eternity, whose name is Holy...." (Isaiah 57:15, RSV). What do you learn about God from this phrase? How should this affect your outlook on life, your way of conducting yourself? He is High above all, yet, He is with the humble and revives the heart of the thoroughly penitent (bruised with sorrow for sin). This effects my outlook in knowing that He alone is in charge and if I always live with this in mind, I will not have a problem, because He that is within me is greater that he that is in the world.
  14. The Most High is above everyone and everything. By calling God El Elyon, in my worship, I will get to know Him in a bettr way.
  15. They both believed that The Most High God is the possessor of heaven and earth.
