  1. Hello, I have been a christian (as in beliver that Jesus is the son of God, God incarnate, lived, died, rose again, and now is at the right hand of the Father) since I was 12. But for many reasons I've not been an active follower or desciple for most of that time. That has changed and is contiuing to change. At 62, I'm an assistiant pastor in training at my church and a "mother" to many. Finally finding a church (pastor) who beieves that the Bible is true has made all the difference. It continues to surprise me how many "christians" explain away Bible truths as "not for this age". If there is a conflict between my opinion and what the scriptures say, then there is a problem with my opinion. Sometimes it is because I don't understand what is being said. But often it is a place where I've accepted the world's truth and need to renew my mind to align with God's truth. This study of 1 Cor. should be very good and I am looking forward to learning more and going deeper into God's word.
  2. So many of the replies to this question are both eloquent and profound. Mine is simpler. Is He "Most High" in my life? Do I put my plans for my time, energy, money, and other resources over Him and His plans? Turth is that all too often, yes. Someone offended me Thursday and I let my reaction to the offence overshadow God's call to serve others. He's dealing with me about my eating. Today is the day after Halloween and the left over candy is winning the "Most High" battle. LORD, I repent. HELP! I feel like Paul when he said in Rom 7:19 "For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do." Thank you for this study. I now see clearly that I need to get on my spiritural face before the true Most High, repent, and walk anew in the Spirit. He is so good and mercyful.
  3. Hello, I'm Mickey (MickR) and it looks like I'm joining the study late. But, isn't that one of the nice things about on-line studies; we can join when we can and not miss out because a deadline came and passed.
