Coming to the end of ourselves facilitates true mourning. When we realize that there is nothing good with in us, that we are totally desperate and in need of God this is what brings devotion and relationship with Christ. Our flesh mourns the loss of self yet our spirit rejoices with new life in Christ. Mourning is apart of letting go of what we hold so dear.
