  1. Knowing that the battle is my Lord's should affect every decision I make. It should NOT make me prideful or arrogant. It should make me humble. I should approach each battle with the knowledge that this battle is my God's and he shall fight for me. I must approach this in the way the Lord would want. I should not be timid or brash in any battle. Timidity implies I have no faith or trust in my God and being brash implies I am fighting the battle with my own strengths. Both of those will result in failure. I believe there are battles Christ will not fight for us. The battles that we are trying to fight on our own or when we make decisions that do not coincide with His will or His plan. I should make all decisions with the Holy Spirit. For he is my counselor.
  2. Moses' rod was like a signal pole in that at any point that the soldiers got weary or wondered what was the point they could see that rod and know they were fighting for their God and that their God was fighting for them! The Lord is my banner in the same way. No matter what battles I may be fighting I need to realize that my Lord and Savior is fighting for me also. The battle becomes almost pointless when I know my God is fighting for me. For if God is for me who can be against me?!
  3. In the Garden of Gethsemane, Jesus could have easily called on the armies in heaven to come to His rescue. But that was not His Father's will. This battle had to be fought and won by Jesus Christ alone. He had to die for me to live. However, when He does call on the army of Heaven it will be a time of Jesus Christ rightfully claiming what is His. The angels are ready, just waiting on His command. Isn't it overwhelming to think about?! That our God is that magnificent and the powerful. It gives me chills. How awesome that a God that powerful not only knows who I am but also loves me unconditionally.
  4. Elisha's servant was so afraid because his lack of faith caused him to be blinded of the things of God. He couldn't see that God was there with His mighty army to fight their battle for them. Elisha's faith in God allowed him to see the chariots of fire and the hill filled with horses. Sometimes it takes a great deal for our eyes to be opened. But all it really takes is a step of faith and then BOOM your eyes are opened to the splendor of our God. Our spiritual battle has already been fought and WON! When Christ died on the cross he defeated Satan! I should remember this when hard times come my way. I am more than a conqueror in Christ which mean not only do I get to defeat Satan, I get to take back everything he has taken from me! How AWESOME is that?!
  5. The Commander wanted Joshua to realize that he needed to be on God's side; on the Commanders side. Instead of Joshua fighting for his reasons he needed to be fighting for the Commanders reasons. Once Joshua realized this he felt the courage and the strength he needed to go into battle. During the encounter he was humbled and fell to his knees in reverence. He felt assured because he knew that his God, the Commander, would never leave him. He would be there in battle right beside him.
  6. KING OF GLORY This wonderful title of God speaks volumes to me. When we look at this title in Psalm 24:7-10 it tells us that God fights our battles for us. After all He is King of Glory. He will always fight for me. He is strong and mighty. He is quick to conquer. He never leaves me to fight for myself. He deserves all the praise and honor. FATHER OF GLORY When we think of what a father is, what comes to mind? In my thoughts a father is someone who wants what is best for you. He wants you to succeed in everything you do. So, Father of Glory wants to give us knowledge of Him so we can better understand Him and His ways. The better we know Him the closer we can be to Him. He wants to be our FATHER OF GLORY. 2 CORINTHIANS 3:18 The closer we walk with God the more the Holy Spirit transforms us into the likeness of Jesus Christ, our Lord.
  7. "High and Lofty One" is a description of God's wondrous love. He is far greater than any thing here on Earth. He rules in Heaven and yet He has such love and compassion for us. His name is Holy. He is perfect. Yet, He loves me; the definition of imperfection. He sees me as His daughter. Wow! Such an unconditional love! It is also humbling. And it should continue to humble me everyday. He is more powerful than any other "king" or "god" that we have here on Earth. There should be nothing put before God because God put nothing before me. Jesus Christ, the High and Lofty One chose to die for me! Wow, it is just overwhelming and humbling.
  8. As I think on the term Most High, it overwhelms my emotions. Most High, He is higher than my problems. Higher than my feelings. Higher than anything we put in front of Him. He conquers our fears and failures. He conquers our sins and our enemies. He conquers them because he is the Most High. And because He loves us. This means that I can run to him and seek shelter. I know His arms are always open for me to lean in to. It means I can come to Him with all the good things that happen to me and all the bad things that happen to me. It means I can take my weaknesses to Him and He makes them my strengths. While I worship Him, the term Most High, reverberates through my body. The only way I know how to express what Most High truly means to me is by worshiping Him.
  9. They both believe that God created both the Heavens and the Earth. That he is the Most High God. He rules over everything and deserves to be praised. They also both know that without God Abram would not have been able to rescue them from their enemies.
