  1. The Word of God has a power of it's own and it operates within the Holy Spirit. New Disciplers must learn to Give words from God directly through the Holy Spirit. Church members need to hear from God not from the person on the pulpit. The Word of God teaches disciplers how to operate in the spirit of God .
  2. Q4. (1 Thessalonians 2:11-12) Why are “fatherly” roles so important to making disciples? How effectively do you think women can adopt these traits? Fatherly roles are important to provide discipline and guidance. Women can adopt these traits by submitting their will to God our Father and trusting that he will equip them with all the traits they need for ministry.
  3. Q3. (1 Thessalonians 2:6b-8) Why are “motherly” nurturing qualities so important to growing disciples? How effectively can male disciplers adopt some of these traits? Like This Quote MultiQuote Motherly nurturing qualities are important to growing disciples because people in the world have been so hurt by the world and they need love they can feel and trust. Leaders have to be ever so careful with new disciplers they are God's babies and he entrusts them to love, guide and teach them. Male disciplers can adopt some of these traits when they learn them by imitating leaders who display them.

  5. Q2. (1 Thessalonians 2:3-6) Which of the character flaws mentioned in these verses is the greatest problem in the church? Why do you say that? How can you prevent one of these character flaws from overtaking you? http://www.joyfulheart.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=1219 The biggest character flaw is that a lot of churches and church leaders are doing things to please man and not God. My husband and I have witnessed a lot of churches in our area compromising the truth and dishonoring God's house in order to please the congregation for fear that they will lose their position or members. I work in the trenches with people that are hungry for the truth, hungry for something real and serving them keeps me focused on God's purpose for His ministry.

  9. 1. (1 Thessalonians 2:2) Why is personal courage such an important character trait for a disciple -- and for a discipler? How does lack of courage prevent evangelism? How does lack of courage prevent a congregation from being healthy? What is God calling you to do that will require courage on your part? Personal courage is an important trait for a disciple because as a disciple one will definitely encounter opposition because truth and faithfulness always solicit a challenge from from fear and untruth. Lack of courage will stunt the growth of a church of those who hear the gospel and those who want to hear the gospel. God is calling me to minister his Word and I refuse because of a lack of boldness . I have a lack of boldness due to not feeling worthy to serve Him.

  11. It teaches to wait for the second coming. He will deliver us from the wrath to come.I feel that there is not enough teaching and understanding concerning Christ's second coming.
  12. Q3. (1 Thessalonians 1:5b-6a) How important is imitation in the formation of a new Christian’s spiritual life? What kinds of ministry are most conducive to imitation? Why is the character of the mentor or leader so important to the health of the church? How well do people grow in Christ who aren’t part of a Christian community? In what way is your character important to your family and spiritual children? 1. In the world we learn worldly (self centered ways) we emulate other sinners we are fascinated with. Imitation in the formation of a new Christian spiritual life is important because we have to learn new ways to carry ourselves and become God centered. We are supposed to be followers of Christ so we must imitate his ways. The character of the leaders of the church is so important to the health of the church because the members will emulate them and follow them they will imitate the pastor. New members in Christ especially can be damaged by unfaithful or dishonorable leaders. My character is important to my family and spiritual children because the will imitate me and experience God's glory through me if I walk in faith.

  15. Q2. (1 Thessalonians 1:4-5) Why is the Holy Spirit’s working so necessary to effective ministry? What happens when the main power behind our ministry is will-power? What is the role of miracles in Paul’s evangelism? What would happen if we saw miracles in evangelism in our day? What is hindering this? In and of yourself you do not possess the power to carry out God's ministry. The power of the Holy Spirit is needed to carry out effective ministry it is not our ministry it is God's ministry and who knows the mind of God except the Holy Spirit. If the main power behind our ministry is will-power then we our leaning on our own understanding and our efforts are in vain. We can put on a good show that people can feel intellectually and emotionally but we will fail to help people change their inner man. We can give the Word of God but fail to demonstrate the Word of God by example. Miracles in Paul's evangelistic ministry were the tangible proof of the Word of God that he had spoken. If the tangible proof of miracles was present in the evangelism of today it would result in the harvest that is already plentiful that Jesus prophesied in His day. What hinders miracles in present day evangelism is our failure to trust God in believing the fact that as the Father sent the Son He also sends us to demonstrate the Spirit without measure.
