  1. What is the significance to you personally that Jesus bore your sins in his own body on the cross? the significance is that Jesus is my personal savior - he died for me and he loves me beyond all measure. There is no love a great of this then that he gave his life for me. It is a personal thing. There is a personal relationship between the person who sins and the one who Bears the sins on the cross. It is like one who has given life by giving someone else an organ from his body, a kidney or part of a liver.
  2. Q2. Why is Jesus' sinlessness important to understanding your salvation? In what way do you think Jesus suffered when your sins were poured into his soul? How could a sinless Man stand this kind of corruption? we have learned and understand that Jesus has died for us, for our sins. Jesus bore our sins, is bearing our sins and will bear our sins. Dr Wilson writes "A sinful man couldn't interpose himself before a holy God on behalf of another sinful person. But because Jesus was tempted and sinless, he could interpose himself between us and God as our Mediator (1 Timothy 2:5)." As was suggested in the last question the very thought of Jesus suffering for my sins, as that my sins were poured into him makes me cringe and I and unable to understand how much the Lord God through Jesus Christ loves me!! a sinless person could not stand the suffering and the pain all less he were God himself!
  3. Q1. (2:21) According to 2:21, in what sense did Jesus suffer for you personally? at first glance at this scripture it did not appear clear whether the word you was the singular or the plural as quite obviously Peter is writing to more than one person. However upon looking into the Greek it does appear that Peter is talking to me exclusively in this verse. If Jesus suffered for me personally then this place is agreed onus upon me to live a life that is somewhat righteous. Or at least I should try to live such a righteous life. For every sin that I commit is another stripe on the back of Jesus that he must bear. Heavenly a savior, I pray, that I will be able to live a life which is sufficiently righteous that Christ will not need to suffer a great deal because of my terrible and treacherous sins. It pains me greatly to think that Christ must bear the stripes for my sins on his back and that I get away scot-free. Heavenly Father Make Me righteous as Thou Art righteous. Amen.
  4. Q4. (2:21-23) How does Christ's example speak to your situation? How is your behavior going to be different because of what you see in Jesus' character in this passage? the example of Jesus is one that we can follow to our great advantage. There are several things that Jesus did not do when he was confronted by evil man - he did not send with his words, he did not deceive his accusers, he didn't retaliate and he did not threaten his accusers. What Jesus did do was to trust his father in Heaven. the least that we can do is to try and take Jesus as our example. No, we are on able to come up to his standards of perfection but we can try our best to do what we can.
  5. Q1. (3:8-9) Which of the qualities Peter mentions in 3:8-9 are most evident in your congregation? Which are most needed? What can you and your friends do to change the relational climate at your Church so it is more Christ-like? In our congregation, it seems to me that compassion, affection and sympathy are qualities that we see in our congregation. Humbleness, being grudge free and humbleness are a problem. As a group we could practice More Love, forgiving and working together in harmony.
  6. Q5. (3:7) How can treating one's wife wrongly hinder a husband's prayers. How can treating a husband wrongly hinder a wife's prayers? when people do not treat each other with love and kindness it is a sin and sin will tend to get in the way of Prayer.
  7. Q4. (3:7) Why should a husband relate to his wife with knowledge and wisdom? In what way does this demonstrate love? In what way does this demonstrate self-interest? Why do men sometimes try to dominate their wives? Why do wives sometimes try to dominate their husbands? What harm does this do? How is domination of another person contrary to God's nature? Men and women are equal before God. Paul writes in Galatians 3: 29 for you are all one in Christ. When someone is truly loves as an equal then they will be treated with love and respect. Some men just do not know that I want is to be treated with love respect and honor.
  8. Q3. (3:4-6) How does a person cultivate inner beauty? How does one gain character? Why is true character so important and precious to God? How can character help a Christian woman win and hang onto her husband? A person can call of eight inner beauty and gain character by following the precepts of Saint Peter of: Faith- to trust, to put their hope in, the promises of God. Obedience to God and His Covenant with the children of Israel and to local authorities. We are to be fearless, courageous, and rise above a reign of terror. We are not intimidated. We live upright lives because of their character rather than out of fear. We obey Earthly laws when they are in line with the attributes of God's Kingdom. Righteousness, a person of God lives an upright life and blesses those around (Proverbs 31:10-31).
  9. Q1. (3:1) Why is submission so difficult for us humans? Does submission require you to be silent when you don't agree or feel something can be improved? When is submission wrong for Christian? Submission is difficult because we, as humans, are very independent. It seems that God made us independent creatures so he could, for some reason, love us more. Adam and Eve were, at first, submissive to God. However, Satan convinced Adam and Eve that it was cool to be independent and to strike out on your own. Young people from that time when they come of age still want to be cool and independent and to strike on their own. Jacob, the grandson of Abraham was also cool and independent and went his own way but God called him back and Jacob became Israel the father of the nation. It is not cool to remain silent as evil and wrong Deeds are performed period we have an obligation to speak of for the Lord in such situations. The Bible has many examples of those who have done this.
  10. Q3. (2 Samuel 18:1-19:8) Why does David command mercy for Absalom in the battle? Why does Joab kill him against David’s orders? How does David’s loud mourning threaten his kingdom? What does this say about his followers’ loyalty? What does it say about David’s faith? About his weaknesses? David commands mercy for Absalom because he loves his son. Joab The Kills Absalom because Absalom is such a threat to David into the kingdom off David. Joab also that's really hates absolute because first of all, the Prince had set fire to jobs crops in the field. As well Absalon has been acting very very badly in strutting off his importance as the king son and had been for some years intriguing to start a rebellion. Davidson mourning over Absalom is not taken well by the troops for these men have put their lives on the line for the king and the King does not know seem to appreciate them. David's weakness is his sons. He seems to be unable to discipline them and is a very indulgent with them.
  11. Q2. (2 Samuel 16:5-14) Why doesn’t David silence Shimei son of Gera from cursing him? Is this a political decision or a spiritual decision? What does it tell us about David’s faith? David doesn't silence Shimei because he is unsure from whence comes the abuse. Does the buse come from Shimei or does it come from the Lord? This is probably a spiritual decision for it does not seem that there is any political advantage to take such a cursing. You David is very faithful and a patient.
  12. Q2. (2:18) If we are to submit to our employers and respect them, what is that saying about God's expectation that we do a good job? In what sense do we dishonor God when we don't give our full effort to our jobs? Respecting and employer is God's expectation and implies a very strongly that we are to do a good job. We are not to cheat our employer by not working with all our skill and energy. However, the employer has a responsibility to treat his workers fairly, honestly and with good faith. This is a two-way arrangement and when both parties treat the other with all due respect then there will be Harmony in the workplace. But if one side or the other does not treat fairly than the workplace can be a terrible place to be involved in.
  13. Q1. (2:15-16) In what way is God's glory dependent upon us living submissive, obedient lives? How is God hurt when we get rebellious? The glory of God is dependent upon Christians living a submissive and obedient lives for in so living people will see the lives we live and we'll see in US some aspect of God, the Father. If we Rebel then people will see us as troublemakers and include that the children of God are troublemakers.
  14. Q5. (2:12) How can the good deeds we commit by living openly as Christians increase God's praise. How does our "blending in" detract from God's praise? Peter writes in 1 Peter 3:15- always be prepared to make a defense to anyone who asked you for a reason for the hope that is in you, yet do it with gentleness and respect. This quote seems to answer the question, we are too live openly in the Society of the world and perform our Good Deeds off service and love in such a way that people will Marvel and will ask from where does your joy come from. We will answer from the Lord. If we try to blend in we will not stand out and people will not ask us the reason for our hope.
  15. Q4. (2:11) Read 1 Peter 2:11 carefully. The world tells us (1) to conform and (2) that sin won't hurt us. What does Peter tell us to combat these lies? How can this reminder help us? "Dear friends, I urge you, as aliens and strangers in the world, to abstain from sinful desires, which war against your soul." (2:11) we are not part of the world. We are separate from the world, as Christians we are to live our lives according to a standard that is higher than that of the world. The ancient world in which Peter and Paul lived had many desires which were put before the people and many or most of these were evil desires. In today's world the situation is very little different than that of the ancient world. Frequently in the television and in the internet and in the bookstore we are confronted with evil desires of **** and these war against your soul. There there is a constant War between the evil and the good and we are to put on the whole armor of God to stand against The Wiles of the devil. If we even let these evil desires have a foot hole upon our soul they will often squirm their way into being greater desires and one may not be able to stand against them. Paul realized that there was a spiritual warfare that was going on when in the book of Ephesians he wrote suggesting we put on the whole armor of God so that we can war against evil and be on God's side.
  16. Q4. (2 Samuel 13-15:13) It’s difficult to find positive spiritual lessons in these sad and grim chapters. What negative spiritual lessons do you find? A spiritual lesson that we can learn is that we are to use the talents that God has given us for his service. So often we neglect these talents, do not use them in God's service but use them instead to enrich ourselves. A person may have a great speaking Talent and use it for their own benefit instead of spreading the word of God.
  17. Q3. (2 Samuel 15:1-6) What are the elements of Absalom’s public relations campaign to win over the people to his side? How effective is it? What should David have done differently? Which of David’s weaknesses does Absalom exploit? Absalom to build up a large household filled with servants. He had many chariots and horses and men in his bodyguard. he met the people outside off the city Gates and told them how wonderful he was and how he would help them if he were King. he undermined at the king bye suggesting that the king was not treating the people fairly. Absalom was overly nice to the people and pretended that he cared for them. mission Absalom's mission is very successful for he is able to form an army which will drive King David of Jerusalem to be Fugitive in the desert. Absalom is taken advantage off King David's love for him and off his inaction and sadness over the death of Amon. King David should have chastise Absalom as soon as he heard of the young man's activities.
  18. Q2. (2 Samuel 13:39-14:24) Why do you think Joab conspires to get David to bring Absalom home? Why do you think David does not immediately show Absalom his favor? Joab sees problems in the Kingdom. He sees the decline in King David and hopes that Absalom his favorite will be able to bring new Vitality to the king. Joab also wants to be a kingmaker. If he helps Absalom now when he becomes king he will then look mightily upon Joab. It is quite likely that David feels it is necessary to discipline Absalom in some way.
  19. Q1. (2 Samuel 13:21-22) Why do you think David doesn’t discipline his son Amnon for his sexual assault on his half-sister? What are the consequences of David’s inaction? David and did not punish the Crown Prince for several reasons : First, the Crown Prince was possibly a favorite of David because he was the first born son and he would be the one two take over the position of kingship from David. Secondly, as far as the David was concerned Tamar was just another female and with all his duties and with so many children and wives he probably did not even know her. As well How can David punish a son who is only doing the same thing that David did with Bathsheba. Is he able to punish the Crown Prince when he himself would be seen as an adulterer and a murderer for something and not much worse then the Crown Prince. Both are acting under ****. What effect would a severe punishment of the Crown Prince have upon the relationships in the country. At this time the future of the Crown Prince may have been thought to have been more important then his sexual relationship with his half-sister. As well David might have thought that this would all blow over not realizing the hate off his son Absalom for the Crown Prince. Absalom no doubt was the jealous and probably was looking for a way to get rid of the Crown Prince before he even raped absence sister. Now Absalon head excuse to rid him self off Ammon. His actions bring him a two full reward, the Crown Princess removed and he has an excuse for his actions. Is one the knot supposed to look after family? The consequences of David's action or lack thereof is that things get out of hand on him and his favorite Ammon is removed from the scene and now he will have to deal with Absalom. As we will see this will have disastrous results for the king in the Kingdom.
  20. Q3. (2:9) What actions and attitudes should this idea of being part of God's own people inspire in us? if we are God's Own people then we are very special. Just as the ancient Hebrews that the Lord took out of Exodus were a special people to him so here in 1 Peter we are also told that we are a special people. We should then look to God for our leadership and for our example in life and we should be pleased to serve him even if it is only by suffering. If we are special to God then we need a never to be ashamed how far heritage as Christian people and as such we should speak out when the opportunity occurs to tell off our love for God, of our dedication to him, what he has done for us and what his plan is for the world and everyone in it. As well we should praise God with all our hearts, all our minds and all our souls. And we might as well go a little farther and love our neighbors as ourselves.
  21. Q2. (2:5) If your praise is primarily for God's benefit, not your own, how should you be offering praise? We should then praise God in ways and fashions which please God and glorify him. We should then praise God in obedience and with all our hearts. Just as David put his whole heart into his dance before the Ark of the Tabernacle as it was being transported to Jerusalem so we should also put our complete heart into our worship and our praise of God our Almighty father.
  22. Q2. (2:5) If your praise is primarily for God's benefit, not your own, how should you be offering praise? We can offer praise to God by our obedience and by bringing our Thanksgiving before him in prayer. We can praise God in song and in voice as we gather together to Proclaim our allegiance to God.
  23. Q1. (2.5) Christians often look at their relation to God as consumers, delighting in what God does for them. What is the mindset of a priest towards God? What actions does this mindset inspire in you? A priest is 1 who intercedes for the people before God. In the Old Testament only one tribe, the Levites, were able to be priests and offer sacrifices to the people. This difficult verse seems to be suggesting but all Christians are Levites - they are priests of God and are able to offer spiritual sacrifices to God. If our sacrifices to God are to be spiritual then animal sacrifices are no longer necessary and acceptable. God is a spirit and everyone who worship Him must worship Him in spirit and in truth. It would therefore follow that if we are to offer our sacrifices to God and he is spiritual then our sacrifices must be spiritual. We all as Believers have direct access to God by virtue of the Cross and the resurrection of Jesus Christ ( Thomas Schreiner,106). Are Spiritual sacrifices would be prayers and the praising of God's name as we worship Him in spirit and in truth. Further spiritual sacrifices that we could offer God are our obedience to him and to his word, proclaiming the gospel and praise.
  24. Q4. (1:18-19) Have you ever felt you were of no worth or of no value? What does 1 Peter 1:18-19 say about your worth? What does it say about God's love for you? What does it indicate about the long-term value of your balance sheet and financial assets? What are your true long-term investments? Why? I think that every person feels at times that they have no worth period, but this is not true. We have been purchased by the precious blood of Christ shed for us on the cross of cruelty. Long term investments are in our faith and belief in Christ - that is our future, that is our hope that is our eternity.
  25. Q3. (1:17) Why are people in our culture so upset when they sense they are being judged by someone else? One is unable to answer this question, one is only able to give an opinion. In our culture we are very independent. This seems to be a characteristic of the people as well as something that is ingrained in us by the nature of our culture. How do you reconcile final judgment with God's love for the world? God's Final Judgement is not for Christians. we will not be judged with the rest of the world for we are judged by our faithfulness to Christ, our belief in him. Yes , we are not judged by our Deeds or our works for we are saved by faith. Why must final judgment be at the core of the Good News of Jesus Christ? We have nothing to fear from the final judgment for Jesus Christ is our advocate and he will speak for us before God and he will hold us with his cloak of righteousness so that we can stand before God despite are filthy sins. We must just believe and have faith in Christ Our Lord and our savior and we will have nothing to fear. He is our anchor who will keep us true steadfast and sure while the Billows roll. What happens to the Gospel when final judgment is left out or ignored? Jesus and his mission on Earth often speaks of the final judgment and we need only to trust in the word of Christ.
