  1. Q6. What do you think God intended animal sacrifice teach us about sin? About holiness? About God's nature? That our sin must be taken into account and paid for. That God desires for us to be holy not make alot of sacrifices. Gods nature is forgiving and merciful but we are still to strive not to sin. Alicia
  2. Q5. In what sense is God's provision of animal sacrifice for forgiveness of sins an expression of his mercy? Were animal sacrifices actually adequate to atone for human sin? Because He knew our flesh would get in the way and provided an atonement for our sin, He has never wanted distance from Him. They were not adequate as it distanced us from God in that we saw the law and this seemed to be broken easy and distance from God was greater because we had to talk to a man of God instead of a clear direct path. The man of God was still that -a man. Alicia
  3. Q4. What are the basic elements involved in a sacrifice for sin? (Leviticus 4:32-35; 5:5-6) Which of these are still necessary for forgiveness of sins today? Which are no longer necessary? Why? Confessing you have sinned, bringing a animal with no defect or blemish and the best of what you have, not the one you dont care is taken, lay your hands on the head leaving your sin in effect on its head, slay it by slitting its throat, blood collected by a priest to put on the altar, remove fat portions to be burnt also, burnt offering was all of the animal, meat is eaten by the priests. Still needed today are confessing you have sinned leave the sin on Jesus's head that way your fat isnt in the fryer of hell. Alicia
  4. Q3. Why is animal sacrifice repulsive to modern people? How much of this has to do with a city vs. a farming way of life? Because they dont have to even prepare their own meat, some have no idea how their food gets to the store. City its more because on the farm you know where your animals are going and whats going to happen when they are sold. Alicia
  5. Q2. Why is anger an appropriate response to sin? What is the difference between capricious or uncontrolled anger and anger that brings about justice? Because sin causes undo pain and suffering in us and those around us. Capricious and uncontrolled anger is taking the Lords righteous vengance and not trusting in Him to deal with it wisely. Anger that brings justice is following in the Lords will for following justice and not taking it into our own hands. Where emotions rule. Alicia
  6. Q1. How do you know that John the Baptist's statement about the Lamb of God refers to sacrifice? (John 1:29). How was the comprehensiveness of "sins of the world" so radical a concept? Because at that time the only way sin was atoned for was sacrifice of a perfect and blameless lamb. Of course God's only Son it would be no less than the sins of the world. The sins of the world was radical because they could only atone for their own sin with a lamb. Alicia
