  1. Yes, we can be a disobedient disciple, for we have all sinned, but if we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins! We are all still too human and the flesh often takes over and we do fall into sin.
  2. Obeying the commandment to honor our mother and father does not necessarily mean we have to agree with them and we should certainly never disobey God in order to satisfy what our parents may expect out of us. What Gideon did led his father to take a stand for God.
  3. God promises Gideon that HE will be with him. In our lives today, the enemy would have us believe that we are of not worth to God, giving us a poor self imagage which keeps us from totally trusting that God does indeed have a plan for all of us that involves His Kingdom. When we truly seek God, He directs us right where He wants us. Lately, I've been praying for another Christian, my daughter, and for myself that we would all recognize what God is trying to show us. I praise Him for directing me to this study!!!
  4. God saw Gideon as a mighty warrior, while Gideon saw himself as the least of his family. This is much the way David started out, as a shepherd boy. God however saw him as a king. Such great things happen in our lives when we truly seek God, for He promises that He does not have plans to harm us, but to prosper us.
  5. The Israelites broke the commandment "Thou shalt have no other gods before Me". The history of their people should have already taught them what happens when they failed to worship God alone, but like many of us, they were very stubborn......continuing to stray and doing things their own way.
  6. I don't believe Gideon realized why God was allowing Israel to be chastised....maybe because he was to young? I don't know there. However, God never abandoned Israel, they abandoned Him, thus the consequenses.
  7. Hello from south Arkansas:) My name is Peggie and like many of you, I'm looking forward to this Bible study God bless!
