Q1. Bearing Our Sin

Jesus' cause was to save us of our sins.  For this purpose He came. Just as He died so did our sins.  I think this is what Peter was saying.

I feel that Peter emphasized the physical body of Jesus to alert us to the fact that Jesus was human when He died for us. That each stroke of the whip, each ounce of pain was a representation of our sins. The sins of the world were taken on to His physical body. This represented the lamb of the Old Testament whem the priest would lay his hands on the lamb to transfer the sins of the people to it. Once again, here is a fulfillment of the scriptures in the actions of Jesus.

Jesus bore our sins onto his body,and we should remember this when we take communion.

Q1. (1 Peter 2:24) Why do you think the Apostle Peter emphasized Jesus' physical body, when he talks about sin-bearing?

1. Jesus was crucified on the cross in his physical body and beaten for us. He was punished for our sins which also allowed us to have salvation.

"He himself bore our sins in his body (sōma) on the tree, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; by his wounds you have been healed." (1 Peter 2:24)

Why do you think the Apostle Peter emphasized Jesus' physical body, when he talks about sin-bearing? 

1. From the beginning God called for an acceptable sacrifice to make an atonement (Gen 4:3-4), which He would later furnish (Gen 22:8). Jesus was that perfect unblemished lamb given by the Father (Jn 1:29, 36; Jn 6:38). 

2. There are so many Scriptural references for why the Word of God because flesh but, beside being God's plan, sinful man could not and did not fulfill any of those reasons, hence our need for a savior. Jesus fulfilled and satisfied the Father's justice.
