  1. 1. The promptings from the Holy Spirit are clear enough when seeking God for direction as Jesus said the father would send a helper . 2 No is just so important as Yes,because God knows best and is in control. 3 Yes i have,and it always works out.
  2. 1 PAUL WOULD NOT HAVE GONE TO JERUSALEM BUT FOLLOWED HIS OWN HEAD. .2. PROBARLY BEAUSE SELF TELLS US WE ARE RIGHT AND MAYBE WE DID NOT HEAR FROM GOD. 3. ONE HAS TO HAVE EXTREME MATURITY IN BELIEVING THAT GOD KNOWS WHAT IS BEST FOR US AND HE WILL NOT LEAD US IN A WRONG DIRECTION. 4. WE MISS OUT ON KNOWNING THE ONLY TRUE GOD AND MISS ALL THE BLESSINGS HE HAS INSTORE FOR US.
  3. 1.. IT STRENGTHENED PAUL TO CARRY ON WITH THE MISSION HE WAS CALLED FOR. 2 THAT GOD IS A LOVING,GRACIOUS GOD.
  4. 1 GOD DOES NOT NEED TO SHOW HIS POWER BY SHOWING OFF TO MAN.HE CAN IF HE WANTED TO BUT I THINK HE WOULD RATHER SPEAK TO US IN A PERSONAL WAY. 2 GOD COULD HAVE REBUKED ELIJAH AS HE WAS ACTING VERY COWARDLY,BUT HE SPOKE TO HIM GENTLY AS HE KNEW THAT IS WHAT ELIJAH NEEDED. 3 WE ARE SO BUSY AND CAUGHT UP IN THIS WORLD-LEE THINGS THAT WE MISS THE STILL QUIET VOICE OF GOD.
  5. 1. The Holy Spirit speaks to us of things the Father relates. 2. it is through the Holy Spirit that we get guidance from God. 3 We need to go to place where it is peaceful and quiet so that we can Hear the still small voice of God.
  6. 1.. Guide, Teach,Speak,will tell what to do. 2. The Holy Spirit will hear from God and relate it to us.
  7. 1 .Jesus got direction and answers by praying to God.,so that He could fulfill the fathers Will. 2. There are 3 persons. The Father,Son and Holy Spirit. 3 To go to God for Wisdom,Guidance and to Lead us. 4. Jesus saw the father by praying and keeping silent so that He could hear His voice.
  8. 1. Jesus got up early to pray to the Father. 2. Jesus put His plans for the day with His Father. 3. It helped Jesus to hear God's voice. 4. The disciples i believe did not know much about how to pray,they were more interested in Jesus power in healing. 5.I do have a Quiet time,but not as i should. 6.Spend more time in prayer and listening for the voice of God.
  9. Q4. (5:5-6) What acts of humility are appropriate for church leaders? How can we discern a person's humility before putting him or her in a place of leadership in the church? What happens when we fail to do this? --- Humbleness No Pride,Good Listener.,Show fear for God. ---By approaching the coucillors and members of the church. ---We will loose members of the church,the church will not grow.
  10. 3. (5:3) How can we best keep elders and pastors from being power-mongers? From limiting a pastor's authority? What's the danger here? From testing a person before bestowing authority? How can this be difficult? How can we deal with this serious problem properly? ---By keeping regular meetings with the Councillors and memners of the church. ---We cannot test a person unless we have given them the opportunity to prove themselves worthy. ---We need to pray and then confront the issue.
  11. 2. (5:2) What's wrong with the common practice in churches of "twisting a person's arm" to get him or her to serve as a church leader. What damage does this do to the church? What kind of leader does it produce? --Not portrayed as a Leader. -- Mistrust will creep in, Unhappiness between people, --It produces a weak leader,who does not fully know God.

What happens when we aren't willing to die, when we are afraid to "take up our cross daily" (Luke 9:23) and follow Jesus? What does this have to do with "commiting ourselves to a faithful Creator"? ---All servants of God,called to Preach,Teach and Prophecy. --- Willingness to serve

What does this have to do with "commiting ourselves to a faithful Creator"? ---Because we will get the strength we need in the situation from the lord. --We are perceived to be cowardly,and wavering in faith. --We have to commit ourselves in all areas of our lives.
  14. 3. (4:14) If we are never persecuted, what does that say about how people view us? In what way should persecution make us happy? --People could view us as being weak,and shallow. --We grow stronger in our faith through persecution.
  15. (4:13) When you meditate on the idea of partaking of or being a sharer in Christ's sufferings, what perspective does it give you on whatever persecution you may experience? It would give me joy,knowing that i am doing it unto the Lord.
  16. Q1. (4:12) What's the danger of trying to avoid persecution and suffering for Christ? Have you ever been distracted by persecution from what you should have been doing? Have you ever observed this in other Christians? ---Yes i have been many times when i loose focus on Christ. ---Yes,
  17. Q4. (4:10-11) If people are always promoting themselves and pointing to how God is using them, what does that say about them? Their sense of self-worth? Their maturity? Their realism? Their humility? What spiritual gifts has God given you, and how are you using them to his glory? ---They are seeking glory for themselves and not God,maybe that they are spiritually immature. ---Have not matured in the faith. --Have not learnt what true humility is. ---They do things so that others could praise them and so they fell good about themselves. --=At this stage of my life i am battling with what gifts i have,but have taken it to the Lord to show me. --
  18. Q3. (4:5-7) Why don't non-Christians like the idea of giving an account of their actions? Why don't we Christians like it? What should the realization that we must give an account of our actions inspire in us? With what attitude should we live as a result? ----Fear,rejection,guilt,accountability. ---we live in guilt, we grieve the Spirit in us. ---Because we are children of God,and because Jesus gave His life for us on a cross. --We should inspire in us to live Holy lives. ---Being obedient to God's word.
  19. Q2. (4:3-4) Why do non-Christians try to get you to sin with them. Why are we tempted to do so? How can we resist this temptation? ---Non-christians do not believe in God,or that Jesus died for their sins. ---We are more concerned for peoples approval of us. -- We must resist the devil in Jesus name,and as Jesus said he will flee from us.
  20. 1. (4:1-2) When the scripture says "arm yourselves with the same attitude" as Christ had, how should this attitude help keep you from sin? What attitude are we talking about? ----We must become more sin conscience ----Keep our eyes on Jesus

(3:20-21) Various Christian traditions have different practices of baptism -- the mode (sprinkling, pouring, immersion) and the age (infant vs. an age when a person can profess his or her own faith). Let's not argue about that in this forum. Let me ask you the crucial question for you -- Have you pledged your faith in Jesus Christ and promised to serve him as his disciple? How does this pledge relate to your own baptism? (Remember, no criticism of another's understanding of baptism in the forum. No fighting. No setting people straight -- seriously!) i was babtized in the Anglican church at 6 months old. when i was 26 i gave my life to Christ in the Presbyterian chuch and was babtized.
  22. 3. (3:18a) Meditate for a few minutes on this verse: "For Christ died for sins once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God." Now personalize it to imagine (1) your sins, (2) your unrighteousness, and (3) your reconciliation with God. Each of these ideas is awesome! Which of these three aspects of the verse has God impressed most strongly on you today? Select one of the three and share it. --- That Jesus died for my sins so that i may have eternal life.

Which one of Peter's four instructions do you find most needed in your particular situation? ----Maybe not trusting God will come through for us.. ----For approval --- Ready to talk freely about God.
  24. Q1. (3:8-9) Which of the qualities Peter mentions in 3:8-9 are most evident in your congregation? Which are most needed? What can you and your friends do to change the relational climate at your Church so it is more Christ-like? --We try in our congregation to display all of the qualities as Peter mentions. -- A concern for the youth. --Set the example.
  25. Q3. (3:4-6) How does a person cultivate inner beauty? How does one gain character? Why is true character so important and precious to God? How can character help a Christian woman win and hang onto her husband? By spending time with God and allowing Him through the Holy Spirit to change us. By spending time with the the Father,Son and Holy Spirit. Because God knows our hearts and what comes from it. By being a godly woman.
