  1. They experienced cultural changes and language. They were from royalty in Jerusalem and subjects in Babylon. When their names were changed it didn't change their faith. Becoming eunuchs only caused them to rely on God all the more. They did not compromise they stood firm.
  2. He provides for our physical needs. He brings rest. He refreshes our soul. He teaches us. He provides for us spiritually. He protects us. He rescues us from evil. He abundantly provides . He gives us eternal life. He gives us mercy.
  3. My husband and I moved back to the land, so to speak. For me it was a radical change producing everything we ate and even building our house ourselves. The people were very different, the churches were different. It was lonely at times, during this time even though spiritually the church was dry I became closer to God because I had to lean on Him more than ever. I look back at that time now and realize the beauty of that experience.
  4. David quieted and stilled his soul before God. Just to be quiet and be comforted by God's presence like being comforted by your mother. A beautiful picture of relationship with God.
  5. It is a great assurance that I know that God is watching over me in every way, there is such comfort especially when life gets difficult. I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth.
  6. This Psalm has meant a lot to me and I have spent many months soaking it up the protection he promises us from so many situations is comforting. There is an if clause, He who abides in the shadow of the almighty and makes his habitation with Him will receive these promises. As the world gets more and more evil we need to draw closer to our protector. I have committed this Psalm to memory for that reason.
  7. God is our shelter and refuse. He is our Rock to run to and we hide in the shelter of his wings. As long as we believe and trust Him this is great comfort in times of trial.
  8. I am overwhelmed when I consider that God even thinks of me. Sometimes it is good to really meditate on God's love toward us. Joy overflowing in my soul!
  9. Sometimes we just need to pour out our hearts to God, be honest in how we feel. Cleansing comes from this so that praise flows out. I'm so thankful for these Psalms because they teach us how to work through situations in life.
  10. David called out to God for help and salvation because he knew of His tender mercies before, the guilt was great. This Psalm is also prophetic of what our Lord suffered growing up as a child. Not because of anything he did but because he was considered illegitimate. This Psalm is a great prayer when we find ourselves in sin. We now know the salvation of our Lord in the Son, Yeshua.
  11. God bringing Israel through many situations in a miraculous way. The exuberance to praise God is because the psalmist is remembering the many things God has done for them. Their are times when I reflect on God's goodness that the praises flow from my heart.
  12. We worship God because He is our creator and everything is in His hands. He shepherds us and watches over us. We are warned to not hardened our hearts toward Him our creator, if we do we will miss out on His best for us.
  13. The Psalm releases us to praise him with music and express great joy and awe. It talks about praising Him in the sanctuary, however anytime and anyplace also. We should praise him with what we have available to make a joyful sound. Everyone should praise Him who has breath. I feel like rejoicing!
  14. Dwelling together in unity is something to strive for, in this day we live in everyone is about themselves so unity can be difficult. It is hard to find two people that can walk together in unity because of different agendas or pride. When it does happen there is joy and the things that can be accomplished are great. You see conflict in the church so much and if we were walking in unity we would see the world lit on fire because of God's love. When Jesus prayed for us he said that the world would know we are His disciples by our love one for another. We need to repent and humble ourselves so that we can work together for the kingdom of God. If the world saw us in unity they would be drawn to the love of God.
  15. Follow the 10 commandments. Tell the truth Do not gossip treat people with respect Pick your friends wisely so that you don't get led astray Stay away from vile persons and respect those who walk humbly before the Lord Do not take advantage of poor people If you follow the right path you will live a blessed life.
  16. It is important to meditate on God's Word for direction in this evil world. When we let others things influence our thinking it can take us off that narrow road. This is why I like verse 2: But his delight is in the law of the Lord, and in His law doth he meditate day and night. I know when I spend time in God's Word that my thinking and my actions have a compass that guides me in the right direction.
  17. If I did not know that God loves me, what would be the point. The remembrances of God doing special things in our lives helps us believe and have faith for the future. When I get discouraged...I remember and let my heart be comforted. Spiritual blessings and miracles are a result of this knowing God's love.
  18. The Psalmist is feeling far away from God and his temple worship, the joy of the festivals and fellowship. He laments and then he starts talking to himself, encouraging himself. It brings to mind the idea of taking every thought captive. I know for myself I have done this and sometimes reciting special scriptures over and over have finally drawn me out. God's Word is a powerful healer!
  19. David had an understanding of what it is to be close to the Lord, dwelling in the House of the Lord is his way of expressing his continual desire to feel God's presence. I do feel that he actually enjoyed the tabernacle. When he talks about seeking God's face it is an expression of his desire to feel God's presence and direction. The hope is that if we presentt our requests to the Lord he hears our cries and then we wait patiently on Him our hope and salvation.
  20. This speaks to me on so many levels, with all the abortion news happening now. My heart rejoices at this Psalm and at the same time breaks. I just had a new grandson born when all of this news started and looking at such beauty just born makes you morn for so many babies destroyed. I think we all would be better off if we allowed God to search our hearts.
  21. The first part of the Psalm referring to the Glory of God in the heavens and how it speaks all languages is God's way to reach everyone. If you take the time to study the constellations and the stars names it is the story of God's redemptive love. Then you transfer to His written Word with all of its beauty to guide and speak to us. God try's to speak to us in many ways. Mediating and basking in God's Word helps to keep our thoughts in line with God's will, the descriptive way this Psalm talks about God's word fills me with joy. I believe that the wonder of God's creation was something that happened as a result of mediating and observing which fills one with awe. The last verse David wants God's help to keep his thoughts pure and on Him, in doing so it will keep him from straying.
  22. I love this Psalm, I'm reminded that we need to take the time to admire the creation. It is majestic and vast. He created all of this for us to enjoy. This teaches me that Yahweh is so much more than we can fathom yet He cares for us. As far as We are concerned, we are small yet can be mighty in speaking God's name. Yeshua, our salvation, coming down as a man and suffering on the cross for us is overwhelming when you ponder it. The great love He has for all of us. We are reminded again of the fact God put us in charge of everything and as we take care of things we should do it as an act of worship.
