  15. Q3. (Daniel 1:8-10) Why do you think Daniel took a stand concerning being defiled by the king's food and wine? How do you think eating the king's food would cause defilement to Daniel's conscience? What does this tell you about Daniel? Daniel 1/8-10 Any right thinking faithful man would not defile himself by offering to eat on a same table ,on par with a conqueror ,it was not a happy situation of merry making ,but a solemn and sad oppression , It was a situation where unmerited equality in sharing a table with a king who has brought them by force ,. Separation/ There are deep differences in culture and rituals associated with food offered in pagans and idols ,,,,,,I am not very sure of the pattern that existed at the kings palace ,, The incident tells that Daniel was firm and faithful , In his resolve to deal with the official ,he showed restaint and gave the option to be his own master ,as far as food is concerned .,,he was open to make a request, that showed his ultimate commitment is to his own tribe and his God ,, Daniel allowed the Will of God in his life that the Plan of God is fulfilled through him ,by Taking The Stand !!!! ,

What do you think was the effect of changing their names to Babylonian names? What impact might it have on them to be made eunuchs? Did they make compromises? If so, why? Daniel as a teenager ,,faced many challenges along with his three friends ,Name changed to unacceptable and strange names , ,Lifted out from freedom of a noble and unblemished tribe , to the training and conditioning environment of a foreign pagan ruler ,in another land The status in Jerusalem were as servant eunuchs to the king of Babylon ,to stand in his palace .,,after three years of training , Changing the name was a cruel, crafty and well planned tactic that they have to be fully programmed to the nature of the new identity .,However ,the narration shows that the boys stood their ground with strong mental integrity and spiritual foundation.Making them eunuchs were also a part of breaking the personality and create total control over these brilliant lads , They did not make any major comprises ,except to sustain life ,but made known their position as far as praying to God Yahweh and choice of diet ,They were also very well behaved and polite to the new masters ,They made known the Power of their God,the God of Israel , who they served ,,
  18. I lived among multi -religious people ,having born and being brought up in India ,Although I moved out of the state ,I lived among people of different castes and culture ,but my parents laid a strong foundation of Faith .,even before pre- school period ,I would say ,the love that Jesus had for me ,helped me undergo a lot of stressful situations I faced ,when Dad died and when we lost our house for the national higway road that passed through our land , Christ became very real ,a person that stayed close and faithful to the many promises ,,,Over time ,I had days that were spent in the middle of festivities and celebrations that was steeped in idol worships ,something that a persona cannot avoid in a close knit multi-culture community ,but ,like Daniel ,the strength came from convictions to say NO to being overtaken or being unequally yoked together ,,,
