  1. Once we have poured out our hearts.....in my case it is more like pleading/complaining........God then speaks to us and gives us the seed of hope. I always have to remind myself to thank him and perhaps the Lord wants to hear more of my affirmations to him than my complaining. When we praise God we are affirming our faith in him that all things will work out according to how he wants them to work out. Praising is significant, because the more we praise, the more we are intuned to God's greatness.
  2. David was in deep shame, but his faith and his heart knew that his God was a loving God and that he could go to Him. I too have felt this deep shame and loathing. To the point of not being able to literally look myself in the mirror. But I I can go to God for forgiveness. Without fearing I would be whacked on my head. During my times of self loathing, Jesus has spoken to me that I am loved. I am sure that David heard those same words while crying out to God. David humbled himself, as I need to humble myself. I found it interesting and revealing that Jesus' and Joshua's root word is yesha. Jesus died as an ransom for our sins.
  3. My praise is not as exuberant as the Psalm implies as it should be. Perhaps it is a cultural difference. Or it is a personality difference. being more on the quieter side I.e introversion, has stunted my praise. Never the less I am able to enjoy the way others have praised God. We praise God for all the things he has done for us. We praised God for our salvation. We have praised God for his faithfulness. We praise God for his righteousness. We praise God for everything.
  4. We worship you oh Lord for you are our God, our King. We worship you in thanksgiving for everything you have created, for everything you have given us. We worship you for you have given us our life. we need to worship you even when things are not going our way. For in the Thanksgiving and praises during the hard times is for us to show you our faith in you that all things will turn out according to your will. Keep on worshipping God through the good and especially the bad or we risk alienation from you.
  5. Praise ye the Lord, Hallelujah, oh Praise ye the Lord, forever and forever and ever. I do wish I could record and sing those words out loud so you could hear the melody. Praise the Lord can be done with anything or anywhere..
  6. This Psalm is speaking to the heart of how Jesus wants us to live. As followers of Jesus we must live together in close harmony in one community. This is difficult as even as Christians we disagree on even the simplest things; such as what songs to sing, ways to worship. We must give up ourselves or bring ourseleves into unity and acknowledge that there are differences, but remember the only thing we should agree on is to love the Lord our God and love each other.
  7. WOW. Psalm 15 gives us the basic rules in which we are to conduct our lives in a straight forward manner. I noted I. My Binle for vs. 3 to watch my my tongue and my words. Keep your word, no matter if it hurts. Stay away from toxic people, give generously, speak the truth. Doing these things is staying in God's prescence.
  8. This is the Psalm 42 and 43. My prayer listen Lord to my prayer. I am so full of anxieties and self doubt. Yet in the midst of this emotional turmoil, you show me the good. You show me that I am worth it. You show me that once I turn to you, you are the problem solver. You show me the way towards the light. While I moan and groan for awhile, you bring me out of the this downward slump. I continue to call out to you... I continue to seek you, to pursue you. Help me Lord out of my self doubts. Guide me towards the path that you want me to take. AMEN
  9. Without seeking out God, what kind of hope do I have. I have or have seen others who are in the desert. God is our oasis in that desert. A good worship time is better than the best chocolate cake in the world. While in worship, raising my hands up, I am in another zone. My mind and heart are totally focused on Him. This is when I am most aware of his love. This love is what I cling too. This is my faith, this is my basis of my faith.
  10. The psalmist is is feeling useless. " bone dry" as if God is faraway from him. He is struggling to keep his mind on God and praising him even while he is depressed. I so often have experienced that struggle. What's the use, nothing will change. Then I have rallied and cry out to the Lord to rescue me. Asking what is the purpose of this suffering, why are others so close to the Lord and I am not. Yet my heart and my mind continues to seek Him. To continue to rekindle my closeness. In the desert God is so faraway. I feel like that Psalmist reaching down deep to find my joy
  11. David desires to be close to God in all places and in all circumstances. David wants a close, personal relationship with God. As we all do. We want to be in close relationship. We want to be with God, be in his prescence. We do not want to be apart from our Lord. To be apart from him would be separation that would leave us out there on our own. Nothing to seek when we are in trouble, no one to praise when we are happy. David pointed that we have hope. Our hope comes from when we wait for our answers from God. Our hope is in the waiting.
  12. This is one of my most favorite Psalms. God knows everything about me. it is awesome to think that he knew everything about me even before I was born. What's kind of scary is that he knows what I am about to say or do before I do. But at the same time he guides me into the right direction, the right words if only I let him or even ask him. Oh Lord, I am your creation. There should be no self condemnation, because in your creation you did not make junk. You made us in your own image. Lord help me to be as beautiful as you made me and intend me to be. You know my thoughts of worry and condemnation. Cover those thoughts with your blood. Grant me the knowledge as soon as those thoughts arise and blow away those thoughts like the winds blow away the tumbleweeds. At the same time point out to me anything that is not good or spiritual within me and lead me onto the right path. Amen.
  13. This Psalm teaches to continually praise God. He is the ruler of all. When we pray or say his name we are to remember his majesty. Also remember that God made us, yet we are ranked just below Angels. When we sing praises to God, our praises will over rule the criticizes of God.
  14. Hi! My name is Ms. Joanne. I am so excited to have found this Website. I look forward to going deeper into the Psalms and sharing your thoughts throughout this study! I live in the dry side of Washington State. I have been looking for a Bible study group that shares my passion to going deeper into the Bible.
