  1. We are God’s children bought with the price of the sacrifice of His Son Jesus Christ. God loves us so much that He sent His only begotten Son that through Him the world might be saved, God didn’t send His Son to condemn the world but to save it and that’s what Jesus Christ did. We should always have in mind that Jesus Christ died for our sins and always be grateful for that, and try to live a Christian life. Do the commandments, live peacefully with one another, most of all submit yourself to God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Ghost.
  2. The Old Testament slaves had a debt that they couldn’t pay. Jesus Christ payed the debt by being sacrificed on the cross for the sins of mankind not his own He had no sin. Jesus freed men from sin because his blood is Holy and more acceptable to a Holy God than any animal even those without blemishes.
  3. The class of humans were slaves not redeemed with corruptible things like silver and gold. Nor with the vain conversations received by the tradition of their fathers. God sacrificed his only begotten Son to save humans from the sins of the world and to eventually defeat the devil forever. Jesus plainly says no person gets to God but through me. I am the light, the life, and the resurrection those who believe in me though they shall die they are passed from death into life eternal. The Christian life has to center on Jesus Christ as the head of the Church.
  4. Gideon refuses to be king over Israel because he wants God to be their king. God is the true king and Gideon wants the Israelites to acknowledge that. It would be treason because God is the sovereign king of Israel and Gideon doesn’t want to commit treason him or his son. They felt like it was Gideon who delivered them from the Midianites, but it was the work of the Lord.
  5. An ephod is a sleeveless garment worn by the priests. It was usually decorated with gems and gold and silver. It was probably beautifully decorated made out of gold. It didn’t have any sleeves and was like a breastplate for Gideon.
  6. The were three hundred men with him in the battlefield, so he could encompass the Midianites. Then he gave every man a trumpet and they carried the trumpets in their right hands and held the lamps in their left hands. Then Gideon instructed the men to do as he did blow your trumpets on every side of the camp and say the sword of the Lord, and of Gideon. And the three hundred blew their trumpets and the Lord set every mans sword against their enemies. The strategy worked because it threw the Midianites off guard and they tried to flee. But the Israelites persued them and slew them, then they took the two princes of the Midianites Oreb and Zeeb. They slew Oreb on the rock Oreb, and they slew Zeeb on the winepress of Zeeb.
  7. He was seeing if God was with him. Unbelief because he did it twice, although it was not total disbelief Gideon just wanted confirmation from God. Yes, Gideon was testing God, for he wasn’t sure he was the one to deliver Israel. You don’t want to provoke God to anger, by breaking his commandments or questioning His authority and Omniscience. If we are unsure of what He wants us to do, God knows we need to be encouraged sometimes and He also knows how to encourage us. Well God could kill you dead in an instant if we make him mad enough like Uzzah who touched the ark of the covenant and God kills him instantly. The danger of demanding a sign from God could fill Him with wrath against you. God was even going to kill Moses his servant for not circumcising his son, Moses’s wife Zipporah saves Moses by circumcising Gershom because God had stricken Moses with an illness.
  8. The Spirit of the Lord came upon Gideon and he blew the trumpet. They all had the Spirit of the Lord come upon them when they did these mighty acts. Without the Lord’s Spirit I don’t think the judges could have prevailed in all that they did. For with God all things are possible, to those who believe.
  9. He was mocked, hit by people in the face, spit on, they put a crown of thorns on him, put a purple robe on him, they said prophesy to us. Well I’ve sinned more than once and Jesus Christ got the punishment even though He was before everyone.
  10. The gospel according to Saint John, for in the beginning of John’s gospel He was in the world and the world did not know him, he came to his own and they did not receive him. But to as many as received him he gave them power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name.
  11. It is written that many nations shall have their sins removed. For as many as believe in Him and do His commandments they shall be saved. It’s wasted on the unbelievers and the evil lest they shall be converted. For they don’t believe on the only begotten Son of God, therefore they shall be damned.
  12. Because lambs were sacrificed by people to God for different things. Lambs are gentle animals and are led by a shepherd. Therefore John called Jesus Christ the Lamb of God, since He was going to go gently instead of making war which He certainly could, but He said I’m not of this world therefore my servants will not fight. Because it is so vast that He takes away all of the sin of the world. Man has sinned since the beginning of creation and Jesus Christ took away all of that sin by dying on the cross.
  13. Being saved from sin and evil, being born again in the spirit. We were redeemed from evil by Jesus’ perfect sacrifice on the cross, He defeated the devil by doing this unselfish act. I don’t think the devil thought Jesus Christ would die for us but it was really the work of the devil that Jesus Christ was crucified. Before Jesus Christ was crucified He said “the prince of this world comes and has nothing in me”. Our redemption lasts for eternity if we abide in God’s commandments and love Him, confessing our sins.
  14. Jesus Christ is the mediator between man and God. By Jesus Christ being one of us, He bridged the gap that there was between a Holy God and mankind that can’t avoid sinning. Jesus set the example for us to follow, even though we can’t be as Holy as He is. Jesus said “ it is enough for the servant to be as his master”. He died on the cross and died a death that He didn’t deserve. But He rose to His Glory on the third day just like He said He would.
  15. That God loves him and has plans for him. Jesus Christ makes Paul feel better when He says “My grace is sufficient for thee;for my strength is made perfect in weakness”, this had to make Paul feel better about his infirmities and it does. That God knows just how to encourage, strengthen, and get his servants to follow through with His plans for them.
  16. Because we need to follow what His will is for us. In prayer we should ask for the things we desire if they are appropriate and a part of His will. Let go of your earthly desires and seek out God and His righteousness. We will be living contrary to what God has in mind for us. Sin can make you feel so guilty that you’re afraid to even touch the Holy Bible or confess our sins. We have to confess our sins to God and remember that Christ died for us.
  17. Fornication, the desire to have money more than faith in God who is able to provide money, ******* after women, adulteries, abortions, etc. The world is evil Jesus Christ said it himself the works of this world are evil. So the voice of the world would want material possessions how rich one is. Who does a person know, how many friends. Who’s their friends?? The devil has a deep voice he wouldn’t say anything nice but pure evil, he would use foul language. He would blaspheme God, he would lie, he would threaten oneself. Because it’s a matter of life or death. The Holy Bible is the truth and is a sharp weapon against the devil and all demons. They know the truth but they lie because they are evil. We need to know the Bible as a guide on how to live life, what to do and what not to do.
  18. Because we all make mistakes, it’s part of human nature. But we learn by making mistakes and we become wiser at least some of us do. Sometimes we aren’t sure it’s God’s voice we’re hearing and we just go about our business. God understands that man is not perfect except Jesus Christ, and it’s a learning process to hear God speak.
  19. I wouldn’t say his unbelief, I would say he isn’t quite sure that he is the one that will save Israel. Gideon is just confirming with God that he is the one who will save Israel. Testing God in a way that displeases him calls to mind God’s first choice Saul to be the first king of Israel 1 Samuel Chapters 10,11,1213,14,15, Samuel anoints Saul to be king of Israel and Judah under the direction of God. The story of Saul doesn’t end well for him, he is instructed to kill all of the Amalekites the Lord of hosts says to him utterly destroy all that they have, and don’t spare; slay both men and women, infant and suckling, ox and sheep, camel and ***. But Saul didn’t do as God told him he spared the best of the animals to sacrifice to God, and spared the king of the Amalekites Agag. That made God mad and He was sorry that He chose Saul to be king. Later on Saul ends up killing himself by falling on his sword. God doesn’t mind if we ask for confirmation, he knows we need encouragement. If you keep asking for confirmation that could anger God because you’re questioning His Omniscience.
  20. Because God is not just a voice you hear, He is our master and can do anything and everything to one that believes. God wants to have a relationship with every one of us personally. He is our Father, our savior, and our master. We have a great help in God. Because He wants to strengthen our relationship with Him as His children, He corrects us when we are going down the wrong path. Paul had great faith, he however didn’t get to know Jesus Christ like the original 12 minus Judas Iscariot. Well I mean he wasn’t daily with the Lord as they were. But Paul was very passionate about his relationship with Jesus Christ and did a lot of work for God. He spread the gospel more than the other apostles to other lands and people.
  21. Because God knows what He is doing, if He prevents you from something He might be saying I have something better for you. God sees the whole picture and has everyone’s salvation worked out as well as damnation to those that will not obey Him. God loves and expects obedience to Him, then He can pour out His Spirit into us.
  22. Pride is one of the seven deadly sins and is actually the number one deadly sins. It was Lucifer’s pride that created the war in heaven, he is so proud of himself and I’ve seen a proud look and I hated it!!! By being humble and submission to God we can keep our pride in check. God loves humility and rewards people who are humble for Jesus Christ said the humble shall be exalted and the proud shall be abased.
  23. Eli said to Samuel lay down and the Lord calls you say speak Lord; for your servant hears. Yes, at first Eli told Samuel that he did not call him, but on the third time he perceived that the Lord was speaking and Eli told Samuel to lay down and if He calls you say speak; for your servant hears. Yes, it was good counsel because at first Eli might have just thought he heard a voice but he tells Samuel if you hear it again listen because it’s the Lord. He is submitting to God, recognizing that he is a servant of the Lord.
  24. If we are listening good enough then the Spirit will definitely guide us in the right path. Yes, the promptings of the Spirit are clear when we are quiet. Yes, I’ve felt God prompting me in certain directions, and I took action. The Lord protected me and blessed me greatly. Oh what a great master we have with God.
  25. David gets direction from God to attack the Philistines when he hears the sound of a going in the tops of the mulberry trees, then the Lord will smite the Philistines. So the Lord did so, He smote the Philistines from Geba to Gazer. God gives him more than a yes or no answer, God instructs David on what to do so the Lord can kill the Philistines who were notorious for worshipping idols and false gods.
