  1. Q2. (Psalm 91) What does this psalm teach us about God's protection when in danger? What does it teach about our authority to vanquish our enemies? What promises does Psalm 91 contain? How does this psalm make you feel?

That He is with me ( watching out for me). That through Christ I have been given authority over them and I need to start acting like what the word says I am. That He will rescue me,protect me,answer when I call, and even when I don't.

He will also deliver me,honor me,(can you imagine that!),He will satisfy me , give me long life, and show me salvation. I feel safe!

meditating on Psalms 40. It is overwhelming to me to think God's thoughts are toward me!! I will continue in that,If His thoughts are continually towards me what should I be doing? Continually seeking Him, but some days are better than others. Thank God for His mercy and grace towards me. Without Him I am nothing.

  3. Q5. (Psalm 80) If you were to formulate a personal prayer for revival for your own life or for your congregation, how would you word it? What elements should be present in a prayer for personal or congregational revival? What would this prayer have in common with 2 Chronicles 7:14? How does this kind of prayer pave the way for revival and restoration to take place?

    [/quot

Dry and parched,my heart grows weak, only your face God do I seek. Refreshing sweet refreshing. Because of your love poured out through your Son. Food for my soul, now I am made whole. Refreshing sweet refreshing.

realizing our error, humility, realize my need for a Savior. As I/we seek His face humble ourselves before Him he will lift us up and stir the embers within us.

  4. Q4. (Psalm 40:17) In this verse David combines both humility and faith in his prayer to God. Why are both humility and faith necessary? What happens when one of these qualities is missing?

Because David knew just like I know I am nothing without Christ. An we believe that God is faithful to His word. He did not give me what I deserved. Well then you are going down the wrong road with more troubles to come.

  5. Q3. (Psalm 40:5b) When you realize that God's thoughts and plans are focused on you in particular, how does that make you respond?

I feel loved, cherished really describes it better. I and secure and safe, confident of our relationship. It makes me respond with great love and devotion to my Father. It also increases my desire to please my Father by being obedient to His will.

  6. Q2. (Psalm 69:30-32) Why does this lament (and nearly all laments in the Psalms) end with an upswing of hope and praise? What does this teach us about our own laments and prayers? Why is praise, the language of faith, so important in our prayers, especially prayers of desperate pleas for help?

    [/quo

Something coming from the heart is always better than sacrifice. Because faith expressed by praise and thanksgiving pleases God. We should do more of that instead of complaining about our situations. I believe praise changes our prospective, we look to the Father rather than concentrating on ourselves. Praise shows my belief in my Father, and I am thankful for all He has done for me.

  7. Q2. (Psalm 69:30-32) Why does this lament (and nearly all laments in the Psalms) end with an upswing of hope and praise? What does this teach us about our own laments and prayers? Why is praise, the language of faith, so important in our prayers, especially prayers of desperate pleas for help?

  8. Q1. (Psalm 69:12-18) How could David dare to ask anything from God after the shameful things he had done with Bathsheba and Uriah? How does God's grace and mercy function in the face of our sins?

Because David remembered God's goodwill, grace and favor that He has for His children. God made a way for me by sending His son Jesus Christ who willing shed His blood to cover my sins, so we could have a relationship. The blood covered my past covers present and future. Its hard for our brain to wrap around that sometimes because it is a divine attribute not a human one. So don't let guilt and sin keep you from your Savior, run to Him,there is new mercy every day

I really enjoyed Psalms 150. I think when you read it out loud to yourself and you start each verse with Praise Him, It impacts and changes your whole day. It distracts you from yourself and directly sends you to God. I will memorize it. Up to this point in my walk with the Lord, I know His word, but I can't say it exactly. You know a minister said to me today that the Lord would bring His word back to my rememberence, if I don't have His word in me He can't remind me of it. Pray with me for divine intervention in this area. You know where I am weak He is strong.

  10. Q3. (Psalm 98) What are the reasons given for praise in Psalm 98? Why do you think praise is so exuberant in this psalm? How exuberant is praise in your congregation, in your life? Why or why not is it exuberant?

The Lord's record of salvation, righteousness and faithful love and coming with righteous judgement. Because of the salvation of the Lord and His return. More in my life then in corporate worship at church, I don't think we spend enough time, we are on a schedule and we rush through the program.

  11. Q2. (Psalm 95) In Psalm 95 we are commanded to worship the Lord. What are the reasons why we should worship contained in this psalm? Why do you think the warning in verses 8-11 is included in this psalm? How does this fit with the earlier elements of the psalm?

    He is:

The Rock of Salvation, The Great God, MY Maker,Our God,King above all. Because we can still go astray after we have worshiped Him(empty words).Worship is nothing (void) without obedience. It still has the theme of worship, If you say you love and worship me why aren't you obedient?

  12. Q1. (Psalm 150) What does this psalm teach us about praise? Where should praise occur? With what should praise be conducted? Who should praise? What does this psalm make you feel like after reading it out loud?

That it is a command, not a choice. In the Holy place, the heavens. Praise Him with your voice, in song with instruments, everything that has breath should praise Him. I feel thankful and excited about my Savior. He keeps me each day.

    Paraphrase of Psalms 133

How wonderful it is that the body of believers are knit together by our love for God.

We are covered by His love flowing among us, I am saturated!

In it comes refreshing, blessings and life.

  14. Q3. (Psalm 133) What about this short psalm seems to attract you? Why is "dwelling together in unity" so difficult? What kinds of commitments does unity require of us? How do the principles of unity and purity seem to conflict with each other? Why are reconciliation and unity such high values in Jesus' teaching, do you think?

I like verse #2 The oil running down the head to beard to the collar. It reminds me of a covering at type of protection. Unity is difficult because we all want our own way, our own opinions etc. We need to accept others just as Christ accepted us. But some still have issues and we want to judge and separate from that. I am incapable but Christ in me is able. My job is to love and it is Christ's job to change.

  15. Q2. (Psalm 15) The Wisdom Psalms are meant to instruct us. How would you use this psalm in your family to instruct your children? What topics of right living does it cover?

Keep your word at all cost. Do what you say, don't take advantage of the poor/persons in need for your own benefit. Don't be motivated by money and tell the truth. Stability! not to be swayed by changing situations. All of them.

  17. Q1. (Psalm 1). This short psalm seems to reaffirm what we already know: the righteous will succeed and the wicked will perish. Why do we need to be reminded of this? From an emotional standpoint, what lines in this psalm stand out to you. Why do you think you like them?

Because sometimes in this world evil looks like it is prospering and the righteous are having a hard time. I like verse #2 In the Message bible it says it this way " Instead you thrill to God's word, you chew on scripture day and night. The definition of thrill is something that causes emotional excitement. My pray is that this would be my hearts desire, more of His word. Like in Jeremiah 15:16 , I found your word and I ate it, to me is was the joy and rejoicing of my soul.

Psalms 63 was the psalm this week, I am going to read it to my husband. He does not have much contact with people outside of our home. He does not attend church with me, I pray the Lord touch his heart. pray for us.

  19. Q3. (Psalm 63) Why is recognition that God loves you the basis of all faith? What does this realization bring about in your life?

Then what would be the point, If God did not love us there would be no need for our relationship. Everything God has planned and done was so we could commune with Him. It tells me no matter what has happened in my life, I am loved by my Father. And He loves me so much he goes out of His way to call me to His side. To speak with me, to teach me, to use me to further His Kingdom. Words can not say all that is in my heart for my Lord.

  20. Q2. (Psalms 42-43). What is the psalmist feeling during this spiritual struggle? How does he combat his spiritual depression? Have you ever felt this way? How did you reach out to God at this time?

Overwhelmed, depressed, alone and defeated. He combats his feeling by going by what he knows about God, by reminding himself of all the Lord has brought him through up to this point in his life. Yes I am sure we have all been there. We can worship God for who He is and with praise and thanksgiving we can thank Him for being faithful to all His promises to us. And suddenly my perspective of situations and circumstance has changed because of His presences in my life.

  21. Q1. (Psalm 27) What does it mean that David desires to "dwell in the house of the Lord"? What does it mean to "seek his face"? How does David provide hope at the end of this Psalm?

    [/

To be in God's presence, dwell close to the Lord. Pursue God! seek after, long for (to know Him). That he will see the goodness of the Lord on this earth.

Prayed Psalms 139, I will continue to pray it for the rest of the week. It is really helping me realize how close God is to me and how I am always on His mind. Truly He knows me better than I know myself. As I continue in this prayer, I pray it would become even more real to me and I would begin to walk in who I really am, not what the world says but who my Father says I am. Margie

  23. Q3. (Psalm 139). In what way does the wonder of creation in the psalm seem to affect the psalmist? In his concluding prayer in verses 23-24, what does he ask God to do?

He realizes that God knows every part of him, He knows my beginning and end. He knows all I have endured or done in this life, and He still loves me. We as humans sometimes don't know our own errors/sins. He asks his Father to search him and cleanse him and put him on the right path again.

  24. Q2. (Psalm 19) Verses 1 to 6 seem very different from verses 7 to 13, but there is a common thread that relates the first part to the second part. What is it? In what way does the psalmist seem to bask in God's Word? Have you ever felt that way? How does the psalmist's wonder in creation seem to affect him in this psalm? In the classic prayer of verse 14, what is David asking God to do?

How magnificent the Lord is. By telling all that the Lord does for those who apply the word to there lives. Yes I have felt that way before. You can see God in nature, that just didn't happen it was created.I am sure he was in awe of it all. He asks God to let all he (David) does bring glory to Him.
