  1. EASU AND JACOB BOTH HAD A CHANGE OF HEART. THEY BOTH WAS VERY CONTENT WITH WHAT THEY HAD. EASU HAD LOST THE BITTERNESS OF LOSING HIS BIRTHRIGHT AND BLESSING. JACOB WAS VERY HAPPY TO SEE ESAU WHICH PLEASED EASU.THAT IS WHAT HAPPENS WHEN WE HAVE A FORGIVING HEART. WE CAN RID OURSELF OF BITTERNEES AND UNFORGIVNESS BY TAKING OUR FEELINGS TO OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST. BOWING LOW SEVEN TIMES IS THE SIGN OF RESPECT GIVEN TO A KING. JACOB WAS TAKING EVERY PRECAUTION TO DISPEL ANY THOUGHTS OF REVENGE. I THINK EACH ONE REALIZED THAT THEIR RELATIONSHIP WAS MORE IMPORTANT THAN ANYTHING THEY OWNED IN SPITE OF THE GIFTS JACOB OFFERED EASU, HE KNEW THAT THE PROMISE OF GOD WAS THERE . HE REALLY DID NOT HAVE ANY REASON TO FEAR.WITH THIS SAID JACOB'S FAITH LED HIM TO THE PROBLEM AND WITH FAITH ALL WAS WELL. JACOB COULD NOT BE BOTH AND I THINK HE REALIZED THIS. YOU CAN NOT BE BOTH AND LIVING FOR THE LORD. I THINK JACOB HUMBLED HIMSELF AND STAYED THAT WAY
  2. I think it was God Jacob wrestled with God. Jacob wrestling was both physcial and spiritual. I think he did it to be blessed and was very persistent. I think God encourages that we be persistent in all areas of our lives. The wound means that Jacob would always have it to remind him that God will always be there with him. The same with the limp. Jacob will always remember the night he met GOD FACE TO FACE.
  3. Jacob realized he was about to face his brother that he had deceived and stole from some twenty years before. Had he forgot the promise God made to him? I think Jacob got him self together and started to pray. When we run into conflict or have something to fear just stop and pray and our God will take care of it. FAITH Jacob let his fear get in the way of what God had promise him. We all do this at times. All we have is faith to keep going.God puts those same angels around us in times when we are weak in faith. PRIDE In spite of conflict between Jacob and Easu, Jacob sent gifts to try to repair damage done. Pride did not stand in the way with Jacob even though he was fearful of Easu. GROWTH.All of the above explains his spirtual growth stopping to pray in time of fear and needs and sending gifts to Easu trying to make amends in spite of all conflicts between the brothers
  4. 1. To let Jacob know he is protected by the promise he had given him. God always delivers when He mnakes promises He keeps them. Maybe to assure Jacob that he will be protected.Maybe Jacob was doubtful and God assured him with the angels. 3. Jacob thought that if one part of the group was destroyed the other could carry on. I think the prayer Jacob prayed was to let the Lord know that his family was more vaulable to him than any material possession.
  5. I think God put Jacob in the same situation that he was in with Easu to show him how it will not work to be a deceiver. I think this made Jacob more mature. Now he had more than himself to look after. I think Jacob realized that he had more at stake than just his hurt. Plotting revenge makes us unable to see from God perspective.
  6. We are so busy with every day living that we forget to keep God in it.We can do nothing on our own. We have to ask for strenght during our conflicts and when God gives it to us we thank and praise him. God should be part of our lives when in conflicts and when are going great. Sometimes conflicts and trials come our way to test our faith. We have the every lasting love of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ
  7. A coventant made between Laban and Jacob to use God as their witness so they would keep their word.
  8. Laban was a deceiver also and I think Jacob thought he would not let him leave with his daughters and grandchildren and what he work for so many years. They deceived Laban by taking something that was his. Yes it was an idol. It also signified who would get the greatest part of his inheritance.wrong to have idols yes but it is wrong to take something that does not belong to you no matter what the case may be. Unjust and unrighteous yes by stealing and even though Laban would not have sent them off in the way he said they should have address the situation the way they did when Laban caught up with them. You never win with being deceitful and turning to God
  9. Trusting God when nothing seems to happen is hard. But it is harder to live with the consequences of taking matters into our on hands.I think Jacob realized to be patience and wait upon God When we think our prosperity is all our doing we are only fooling ourselves. It is so easy to let God slip out of lives when all is well. But it is God who blesses us with abundance. He also ask us to manage it for him.Let us not forget God in our abundance or He will remove his blessing from us. The most valuable thing we have in our lives is our relationship with God and it is FREE
  10. The deceiver of Esau was now being deceived. How natural it is for us to be angry when an injustice is done and we close our eyes to what we have done to other people. I think the purpose is to show Jacob as with all of us is to do unto others as we have them to do unto us.
  11. Jacob knew that God had totally accepted him. Jacob wanted to give back so he commited to giving his tenth. How wonderful we serve an almighty God that only ask for a tenth. This gives us 90 percent to enjoy and that is what our mighty Saviour wants. He wants us to prosper and the only thing He ask in return is to love Him and love others.
  12. Jacob set up the stone for a monument and annointed it to consecrate it to God as an atlar. Jacob was showing the greatest respect for the place he met God.He also was pledging his future with God. Jacob may have been thinking since God has bless me I will always follow you. God blessed Jacob but God also had some hard lessons for Jacob to learn.
  13. 1: Angel sinified that Jacob knew God was with him.I think he realized that ths same promise made to Abraham and Isaac was being extened to him We all have to establish our own relationship with God.
  14. I think I am more like Rebekah. I have special feelings for one grandchild and my kids resents this. I try to treat each child and grandchild as the needs arise. Still creates problems. I ask Jesus to help me be the same and fair to each one. The kids makes it almost impossible to do that, but my Saviour always comes through.
  15. I was one of eight kids and none was treated the same. I grew up in a home that love and church was not important. I have three kids and tell them daily I love them. I do not think you can treat each kid can be treated the same They have different needs.
  16. I think both isaac and rebekah were spirtial. I think isaac was more sensitive due to rebekah plotting with jaccob.
  17. Easu story shows us that sins and mistakes we make have lasting consequences. We ask for forgiveness but we still have to pay the consequences. We need to pray about our long term decisions, base on what effect it will have on us quilter Tn
