  1. Churches are a hotbed of apathy because the members don't want to take the initiative to do what is right. We look to one side or the other, saying "I don't have time for this" or "I don't have time for that"... If people would get off their duff and do some things the churches would be thriving. Instead we are all going about putting eachother down. We don't think so and so can do a good enough job so we decide to find someone else only to find out that so and so didn't do such a bad job afterall. It all boils down to trust and faith. I know I can't sing, so I don't even try, but I do do good on the computer. Ask me to make flyers or bulletins for the church and I will gladly do it. I leave the singing up to the ones that can do it. People are ashamed when they can't do certain things that is asked of them. No I am not saying you shouldn't try but when someone quietly tells you that "Hey that was ok, but we think so and so can do it better" don't get all bent out of shape. Go with the flow. That is the way we can combat it too.
  2. Anytime we put other things, whether it be a TV show, other god, or any of the thousands of things that is of the WORLD, before our worship of the One TRUE GOD, we dishonor Him. That is spiritually destructive. We live in an instant gratification world now and we have to be on guard for anything that is not of the one TRUE God. When we compromise in our faith we dishonor the Lord. We fail to see because of the worldly things but anything that is not of the Bible is against God. We must learn what it is that God likes and the only way to do that is to study the Word. If we had more of the Bible taught in schools we would not be in the mess we are in now. God says you bless me I will bless you... So why don't we just tell the 24% that don't believe in God to take a back seat and show them what God will do if we get back to the basics of His love.
  3. The significance of Jesus walking among the lampstand is that of Jesus walking among His chosen people. Jesus said He would never leave us. We, at one time or another, have left him. Whether we come back to him or not is a choice we have to make. The church is nt a building. it is the people. We can hold Church services at the beach and not in a building. People today put too much emphasise on a building. Jesus is in our hearts no matter where we hold church or even if we do hold church. Jesus said, "Where two or more are gathered in my name there I will be also." He did not say in a building. And he did not say a large crowd had to be present. It can be a husband and a wife, a daughter and mother, ect. as long as Jesus is with us.
  4. As with many things being constantly put in our dailey lives with things you do not naturally accept as a Christian you become more tolerant of them and the shock originally felt becomes less and less. If we are not on guard we not only accept these activities as being normal but we are drawn into taking part, in one way or another. Whether it is actually doing the wrong thing, or wittnessing it and not saying anything. Watching TV, reading books that once were intolerable, even standing in public and hearing the language coming out of the everyday people is testing our judgement. We have to be vigilant in our stand against the everyday world. If we, in todays society can be vigilant in our stand, that is a wittness in itself.
  5. As with any relationship there has to be committment. If you and your congregation are committed to the relationship of member vs Jesus, then you will have a perfect harmony. In todays society so many people put the worldly things above Jesus. When this happens the Love for Jesus is not there. When you lose the love for Jesus the world steps in (satan) and takes over. The church splits and then you have no church. In order to regain the Love of Jesus we have to first Love Him. Put the worldly things aside and say, "Today I will from this day forward, give my all to Jesus." He gave his all so we might love him first. Love, honor, faith, all go hand in hand. We have to get back to the basics of faith. When we do this then we will begin to live the love of Jesus.
  6. God the father says: I am the alpha and the omega, the beginning and the end. He is the Almighty God. Jesus says: I am the first and the last. Jesus is saying that He was God in Human form. He and the Father are one and the same.
  7. The understandng of God's word. The way you act so that the people around you KNOW that you are a true Christian. We, as Christians, MUST act as if Jesus is in our presence at all times, because IF we are TRUE CHRISTIANS the Lord IS WITH US AT ALL TIMES!!! How we do the ord for the Kingdom of God determines our growth in fruit.
  8. They are ALL dangerous. They go hand in hand with eachother. I heard someone a while back make this comment: "I am so 'worried' that I will not have the money "ie. riches" to pursue my 'pleasures' in life." I tell people like that, "put your trust and faith in Jesus and he will supply all of your needs and even some of your wants. Peoplke in life today, especiallythe "young adults" (18-25) say "by the time I am 30-35 I want such and such. And they waste a lot of energy trying to pursue this 'dream' and they forget to 'stop and smell the roses' the little things in life. So, for all you young adults I have to say "Don't build your riches on this earth! Build your faith and trust in the Lord, and He will supply your needs and maybe even some of your wants."
  9. As I stated in the question before, He is among the lampstand in His spiritual foam. This lampstand signifies his church. We are always to be faithful to our church. Jesus says, "You be faithful to me before men and I will be faithful to you before my father.
  10. Jesus among the lampstand is His spiritual form. He is among thelampstand, or the Churches, to signify that He is always with us, His chosen people. We need to understand this Spiritual realm of the Holy One to have a Balanced faith.
  11. Slowly but surely our religous freedoms are being taken away from us here in the USA. But mainly the countries of the third world, asia, Iran, and those countries are being hit by trials and tribulation. The Book of Revelation can be an encouragment because it explains that the longer and stonger your faith is in God and Jesus the better you will be in the end. Keep on keeping the faith. It tells them of the rewards they will get and the new world that will come to be.
  12. According to this Doxology, God is King, Immortal, Invisible and the ONLY TRUE GOD!! No I have never tired to learn or speak one of these Doxologies. It reminds the reader of who we are speaking to, and who we are speaking about. We must in our dailey walk with Jesus learn to read and speak some of these doxologies if we want to lear and grow like Jesus wants us to.
  13. He shares this information about his life to prove that you can be the worst of sinners and when you choose to folow Jesus, you become a different person. The sharing of this information can make the people think about what they are doing and change there ways. When a church follows a false doctrine they are not in line with Jesus. And he can and will do something drastic to the people to get thier attention.
  14. The results of the teachings of false doctrine was that the church was getting further and further away from the teachings of Jesus. If the teachings are false then the spirit is false. When the spirit is false the church will not grow. The teachings of false doctrine is like telling a lie to God. When you tell enough lies people won't believe in you and that causes the church to split. And a split church cannot do the mission that it is meant to do.
  15. Mary's question was asked from faith. She never doubted what was going to happen but how. Zechariah's question was asked in dout. He doubted that this could happen to an older woman.
  16. 1. The child was the Son of God. 2. The child would become a great person. 3. His kingdom would NEVER end.
  17. Repentance is so vital to a Christian because it shows that sinners, which we are even though we are Christians, are asking for forgiveness. Baptism is an important part of becomming a Christian, because it is an outward show of becomming a changed person. Christ needs a repentant heart because we need to show Him that we are willing to show that we need His forgiveness. We are but filthy sinners, so we need to ask His forgiveness, and only then will we be forgiven.
  18. The true Jew would be offended because they thought they had the protection of the Mosaic Law. They didn't think they were in the wrong. They did not recognize the need for a savior as their way to God. They were a prideful People. The people who did repent of their sins were everyday people like you ad I. They were the ones who recognized the fact that they were sinners and they needed to repent of their sins. The people who resisted were the Saduccees and Pharosees. They were the ones who were wanting to kill Jesus. When they hung Him on the cross they mocked Him and thought that He was just a normal person, when he didn't come down off the cross. Only when they went to the grave and f ound Him not there did they begin to worry.
  19. People who adopt the Christian faith and don't repent are fake; they are mocking God and His Son. People avoid repenting because they don't want to "look weak" in the world's eyes. Little do they know Or maybe they do know, but don't care, that Jesus is watching everything you do. I think the percentage will be rather high between 50% and 75% of the Christians are unrepentant or unprepared in heart. There is a slow moving of the repentance in the world today. Everybody is so afraid of what everyone else thinks of them. "I may not look cool if I pray to Jesus." I don't care if I look cool or not, I pray in my car, in the grocery store and any where I can. I am not affraid of dying, I just don't want to die right now. I want to be able to take as many lost souls with me when my time is up. I still have a lot of work to do for My Lord.
