  1. What about the author's description of the Son makes you think that the Son described himself divine? What role does the Son have in doing the will of the Father according to these verses? The Son had a direct and very personal relationship with the Father,he described himself as a co-creator,He is an heir at the right hand of the Father, the radiance of Glory, there is so much that the author rights that describes himself as divine. The role of the Son in these verses are he is a co-ruler and does what the Father wills,he is like the superior one above all others and there is no sin in Him and He is to teach others about what GOd wants for each of us,that is what i think the Son is doing for the Father, this is why people accused him of Blasphemy cause they have no idea
  2. In what way do you think the author of Hebrews is using the word SON? As a metaphor? AS a biological relationship? How would a Son's words have more weight than a prophets? He is using the word to show that God and the Father are deeply personal and very direct with one another, they are one in the same.It is not used as a metaphor but more as the family relationship. The son's words are more powerful because it is by divine revelation from the Father himself and not so much with the guidance of the Holy Spirit
  3. Why is prayer vital to the spirtual warfare? What does it mean to pray in the Spirit? Prayer is important because we need the help and the guidance of the Father in order to battle against the enemy of our lives. Prayer is our constant communication and lifeline to the Lord so He can be with us in all that we are fighting against the enemy. To pray in the Spirit is to be able to let the Spirit guide us during everything and in our battles.
  4. In what sense is a husband's care for his wife's needs just common sense in taking care of his own needs? What is the principle from Genesis 2:24 that underlies this? When you get married then you and the wife become one so everything that each one needs can be found in each other. The wife needs protection and comfort then the same things is the opposite way as well so it works hand in hand.
  5. Does being head of the wife involve being Boss? Why or why not? What does being head require of a husband? What is the example husbands are to follow in headship? Being head of the wife is not being her boss because marriage is a two way commitment, not one ruling more over the other one.The only reason that a husband is the head of the wife is by financial means and being her guard or her protector like God is for us right now.Being head for husband is providing the necessities and by showing love and protection like God and Jesus is doing for us right now. The examples that they should follow as far as being headship is of Jesus in the Bible and to strive to be like Him in all that they do regarding marriage.
  6. I think that God gave us the emotion anger because we need to learn how to be able to handle it and not lose control.Anger can really blind a person and God needs to teach through the Word that when we are angry,we need to turn to Him so we can forgive the situation and the person.Anger can be dangerous because it can consume us and lead us to do something that we do not want to do,there are consequences if we do not control our anger.I think that there is good anger and bad anger, the bad anger i believe can be a sin because when we are angry we dont realize that we are hurting others and ourselves
  7. Using Ephesians 4:17-19 as a basis, how would you describe in your own words, the secular and the non-christian mindset of our age? Why are we tempted to conform to its value? There is alot of pride and being lovers of themselves and in this world, the things that went on in the days of Paul is now up till today,is still occuring. There are people who are mockers and are doing whatever they want and think that God is not going to anything that Christians profess, like in the days of Noah. The people of the secular world have there eyes blinded and their ears dont want to hear, the people are under the sway of the wicked one and they live in all the drugs and drinking, etc to make themselves feel like they are on top of the world. We are tempted to conform to this world because we figure that it cannot hurt us like if we listen to a rock song or we drink an acholoic beverage then we think that it cant hurt. The devil does not want us at peace,he wants us to go back and to doubt God like the Israleites in time of Moses
  8. HOw can we stir up the gift of evangelism among members of our congreation? What might be the earmarks of a person with this gift? How can we encourage and stimulate the Spirit-gifted evangelists in our mist? We can sit and encourage the person to be bold for the Lord and we can pray for the people who have the desire or even the gift of evangelizing. There is bible studies for them as well and classes in the church for teaching of evangelism. The earmarks could be that in conversations they can bring the Word into the conversations alot and in studies in the church itself,it all has to do with the guidance of the Holy Spirirt.
  9. If there were apostles today, what kind of function might they have? What needs do our congregation and regional groups of churches have than an apostle might meet? How might we detect false apostles? If there were apostles today then they would be doing the same thing as the apostles in the Old Testament and in times of Jesus.THey would be leading and preaching to all souls with their lives and the work of the Holy Spirit. The congregation can show love and guidance to the apostles so they can be better prepared for the ministries that they will have or already have. There is unity or even teachings and confrences where ideas and studies can be shared among others and apostles. I think that we can be able to detect a false prophet when they are using there own thoughts and the Scipture to brainwash people into thinking that what is being taught in church is not right.Twisting the Word of God around to meet their own needs or even blaspheming, there is so many ways but prayer, fasting and the guidance of the Holy Spirit will reveal to someone that there are false prophets amongst the church
  10. Who gives spirtual gifts? Can our natural talents be related to our spirtual gifts? How? What is the difference between a natural God-given talent and a spirtual gift? The one who gives the spirtual gifts is the Lord and when we pray what our talents is or what it is that we want from the Lord then spirtual gifts is possible. Our natural talents i think can be able to lead to the spirtual gifts or it is a combination of the two so we can be able to use natural and spirtual together for the will of God. A natural god-given talent is something that comes regular not something that a person has to practice or keep trying to get correct, and i think that is the major difference between gaining a spirtual gift and having a natural talent.
  11. It is important because humility and patience had shown the character of God in Jesus,we need to reflect those kind of characteristics if we want to be like Jesus in our daily lives. When we know how to be patient with others or with God then it is possible to achieve the unity in the churches. When we are humble and not filled with pride then we can be able in conjuction with patience then unity becomes more achievable. Along with arrogance and the right doctrine not only does it make us seem bad but also it does not give God all the Glory. When we say the right things but think that we know it all then it makes us seem like we are full of ourselves and that is not right in the sight of God.We have to live when we are Christians under the microscope of the world so we have to reflect God in all that we do,when we have arrogance then it makes God and Jesus look bad and that is not good. When we are going through something and i think that it has a deep affect on us then we need to be gentle with others. We should always fight the good fight of faith because the enemy goes about like a roaring lion seeking who he may devour.
  12. our behavior is to be Christlike and to be like the Lord Jesus. Our calling to be followers of Jesus but to live in a way that can give God the Glory. It is special when people can look at us and look at the life that we are living and be able to say they are loving the Lord with all that they are.A calling is something that is very sacred and should be treasured especially when it comes to the Lord.It is so good to be back and i say hi to all my brothers and sisters in Christ on Joyful Heart,be blessed
  13. The things that can prevent us from reaching out to GOd's love is that we have too much pride in ourselves,we can be lovers of the World, there is greed i mean there is so much that can prevent the Glory of God from passing through to our lives. When we do understand that He loves us and always want what is best for us then we can have anointing and be blessed filled in the calling that God has for us. There would be many different and awesome things that could happen in my life because Christ lives in me and the Holy Spirit as well.
  14. Do the concepts of a strengthened by the Spirit, in the inner person and Christ dwelling in our hearts say the same thing or are they seprate and distinct ideas? It is the same thing because of the fact that when we are saved through faith then we can have Christ dwelling in us.When Christ does dwell in us He restores all our mind, heart, and Spirirt to do the will of God in our lives. When we are hurting in ourselves or there is an tribulation or a trial then the presence of the Holy Spirit lives and comforts us of all that we are going through. It is one and the same but can be viewed differently
  15. Why is Paul so careful to be humble about his call and apostleship? How can his example help us remain as humble servants? He is humble because it was by the grace of God through the Holy Spirit, he has considered himself to be the least of all the saints that he should be preaching to the Gentiles. He recognizes that God created everything and it is a mystery to him. The example is that we should not consider ourselves of recieving that awesome power of the Lord, to be able to help others come to know who Christ is in our lives and heart. We need the power of the Holy Spirit to give us counsel even though it may be tough
  16. Just what is the mystery that Paul is talking about? Why was it important to the Gentile Christians in Paul's Day? The mystery is that the Gentiles did not know that they would have the same inheritance as the Jewish people in the New Testament.THe imporatnce of it is that they would be co-heirs of that same mystery of salvation in Christ. Both sides needed to be in one so like that they can be a family in the heavens and experience the same salvation together.
  17. Why is God's revelation to His Holy Apostles and Prophets our authority for faith and practice? What is the danger of minimiziing or straying form that revelation? What is the danger of superceding that revelation? What is the danger of denying that God reveals himself to us and to His church today? The reason for the revelation of our faith and our practice is because we have the knowledge of it before time, it is by grace so like that we can get to share the truth to unbelievers in this day and age. The danger of straying from it is that we are far away from the church and do not have the wisdom from the temple. The danger of superceding that revelation is that we can get ahead of ourselves or becoming to cocky or prideful. It can be viewed by unbelievers as like they do not want to come close to the Lord. The danger of denying that God is revealing can be an offense,it says in the Word of God that if we deny Him on Earth then He will deny us before the Father.
  18. what is the significance that your congreation was made to be a dwelling place for God in the Spirit? What hinders that from being fully experienced? What can you do to help that become more fully expeprienced and appreciated? God talks to everyone when they are in the temple and the spirit of the Lord makes that possible for everyone who calls out to Him. What hinders the Spirit from fully coming to be is that we sin and when we do not repent then it does not allow other to dwell in the Lord. To be able to come to experience fully and to be thanked is that we need to pray and to be able to worship so that the Spirit of the Lord can dwell with the believers in the temple.
  19. What does it mean to have "access to the Father"? in what way does the Holy Spirit facailitate this access? In what way does Jesus enable this access? To have access to him is through Jesus and the Holy Spirit, to be able to pray and to search for him in all matters that is in our hearts. The Holy Spirit is able to facilitate what we need which is the strength and the comfort to be able to do the things of God. Jesus had been able to do this with the Blood that he shed for us and be able to atone for it so that we can have what it is that we have, which is salvation and the ability to preach His Word.
  20. In what sense did Jesus as Messiah fullfill the mosaic Law? What is the signifcance of that for Jewish people? for us gentiles? He fullfilled it by dying on the Cross for us and shedding His blood so that we can have salvation and fullfill what was the word of God. the significance for the Jewish people was that they are already going to be part of that glorious family of Christ and what was promised to the patriachs from God himself. For the gentiles it means that we are able to come to Christ because of the sacrifice that He made for us on Calvary. We are able to be redeemed through Him when we do something wrong where before Jesus had died for us,it was not possible.
  21. Why does being out of touch with what it means to be lost impede our willingness to witness? In your own words, what is the spirtual condition of a friend or co-worker who doesnt know Christ? when we are lost we understand what the non believers or even the christians who have left the Lord feel like. When we come to the Lord we grow to love Him and we want to witness but we really have to know what it is to go through what our friends and families go through so we get lost.We then realize that people feel alone, afarid and confused but most importantly lost just like them then we can get strength from the lord to be powerful witnesses.
  22. What were we created to do?Why?What is the difference between these works and the works Paul discredits in verse 9? In Ephesians 2:10 it states that we are God's workmanship and He created us for good works, this means that before we were born we were set apart for Him then once we accept salvation he teaches us what to do and His servants and children. We are saved by faith and not by what we do as humans so we should not go around saying that we are saved because of our own selves but by God who is our Master. The work in verse 10 is because God is part of it all along and in what Paul says is because we think that we have done it by our own strength
  23. Saved has become a Christian jargon. How can you translate this word into modern speech so people can understand what it really means and why they need it? When we are called,we can accept to be rescued from the world that we are living in right now. When we have the salvation that means that we are free to be who Christ wants us to be as long as we are doing His will in our own lives.
  24. Why is it so hard for us to understand grace? What commonly held life principle does it demolish? To show grace is to show that we are loving and that we have mercy towards someone else,it is a good gift that is given i believe at the moment when we recieve the salvation from Christ through faith. The way to expalin it to a 10 year old is to teach them by our actions and our belief in the Savior.IT demolishes pride and of sin,to have grace is the opposite of what the enemy wants from us.
  25. What does it mean that we are seated with Christ in the heavenly realms? What does this say about God's grace? What does this say about our spirtual authority? How should this knowledge affect our prayers and our boldness? It means that we can be united together in Christ in one heavens. The heavenly realms is where our home is going to be once we reach the coming of Christ or the Rapture. It says alot of about God's grace because we can get to experience that everything God has said.He wants to give us everything and right now all we have is this beautiful salvation, but when we get up there it is like we have won the lottery(spirtually). We only have spirtual authority possible through Jesus and the Holy Spirit. We should want to seek God more and to look at the guidance of the Word of God so like that we can be content when we reach the heavenly realms.
