  1. Can you remember any times when God has cared for you as a Shepherd -- in times of blessing and in times of trouble? Yes. He has always met my needs, in good times & in times where everything looked gloomy. With God we have hope & a promise of his leading us safely through to our home in Heaven. What are you facing right now where you realize your need to rely on God as your Shepherd? I am still grieving the loss of my dear precious Mum who went home to be with the Lord on 18th April 2005. It is the 14th April 2006 now so it's nearly been 1 year. My Mum was a wonderful person, never judging anyone or ever talking about people, she always saw the good in everyone. She loved the Lord so very, very much & I was always brought up to know God & love him too. Even tho I know she is at peace in Heaven with our wonderful Lord & with my Nana & other family members, it still hurts just soooo very much to not have her here with me. Like I said, it's been 1 year nearly & I think well it's 1 year closer I am, to being with her again. I just feel as tho my life has no meaning, no direction anymore, so I need to look to God for direction in my life now & I am just waiting each day for his leading. All I can say is PRAISE GOD he has given us the promise of eternity with him & our loved ones. How wonderful a promise he has given us!!!!! In the area of healing for my left hip & right knee which I am in constant pain with. The doctors at the hospital won't operate as they say I'm too young {haven't got health insurance is closer to the truth}. Whether God heals me miraculously or I have an operation, I am just trusting God to make the way.
  2. (Genesis 22:1-14) Do you think Abraham was really expecting God to provide a sacrifice, or that was just what he told Isaac? No, I think Abraham believed without a doubt that God wanted him to sacrifice Isaac & when he assured Isaac that God would provide the sacrifice, it was just something he told Isaac so as not to totally scare the tripe out of him. What support do you have for your position? Because Abraham even pulled out his knife ready to sacrifice Isaac who he had already bound up. Did you ever receive a last-minute provision from God? Yes. In what circumstances can we expect God to supply our needs? I was on my trail bike about to be hit by a car traveling at normal speed on my left hand side. There was no way I could avoid being hit & I screamed out
  3. (Psalm 121). What does it mean that God is our Keeper. It means that God watches over us every minute of our lives on this earth. He protects us from the devil
  4. What is the promise to claim in verse 5? That if we ask God for wisdom he will give it generously without finding fault in us. What is the condition attached to this promise in verse 6? We must believe & not doubt. How do trials help us receive this wisdom? Trials highlight the areas we need to repent of & ask for wisdom about.
  5. How do trials help cure us of "doublemindedness"? In trials God helps us identify sin in our life so we are able to repent of them & in doing we can see sin lose it
  6. How do trials help cure us of "doublemindedness"? In trials God helps us identify sin in our life so we are able to repent of them & in doing we can see sin lose it
  7. Why do people blame God for evil? Because they think if he is the all powerful God, that he can destroy the devil & get rid of all evil if he really wanted to. Does God tempt us with evil? No, but he allows it so we can grow stronger in Christ by being over comers in his strength. Does he tempt sinful people with evil? God doesn't tempt anyone with evil. Why does he allow people to sin? Because he is a God of love & has given man a free will. Why does he allow evil to exist at all? Because he is a God of love, & not a dictator. By allowing evil he has given man the choice to follow him or not to. If we didn't have choice we would be robots under a dictator as opposed to the loving God that he is.
  8. What value have trials had in your life? They have made me grow in different areas. Both stronger in God & for what I believe in. They have given me a boldness in certain areas. Also they have proven God's presence with me at all times, no matter what, he has never left me or turned his back on me, so my love for God has deepened as well. Have you let Satan destroy you with those trials? Sometimes yes I have when I have backslidden by listening to the lies of the devil & knowing they were lies, still going ahead & sinning through bad choices...but I would not say he "destroyed" me. He did impede my walk with God at the time. Or allowed God to refine you? I have learnt now that when the devil attacks me, it means I'm on track with God because if I wasn't he wouldn't be bothered with me. So I can count it all joy when the devil attacks me, but it takes practise & isn't always easy. How have you changed? I have grown stronger in my walk with God {although I still have a long way to go} & am growing to love him more & more. I am able to stand up against the schemes of the enemy with more assertiveness, with God's strength.
  9. In what ways is God a Rock in the above verses? God is a rock in being a fortress, a place to take refuge, a safe place. What functions does a rock perform in Palestine? They used to take refuge in rock when in conflict with their enemies, they would make rocky areas their fortress.
  10. (Psalm 3:3) In what ways is God a shield? He covers us with his protection, the sheer presence of God in our life, we are covered with his blood & as Christians we need only to call on & stand on the name of Jesus. At the name of Jesus demons will have to flee. In what ways is he our glory? As Christians we have the glory of God within us, being the presence of God with the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. The glory of God is his presence, his power, his might, the very essence of Himself. In what ways is he "the lifter up of my head"? He gave us the Holy Spirit who dwells within us to witness & minister to us. We just need to look up to God in every situation. What does this teach us about God? That God is greater that all I may aspire to be. He completes us. He cares about our well being & loves us dearly. He is there all the time, but when we are in great need we just need to call on him. About ourselves? That we need God. We cannot get by in day to day living without including God in it. It also tells me we are people of worth for God to love us so much & be concerned for our welfare no matter how small or trivial the matter may be.
  11. What is the significance of the confession "Jesus is Lord"? By confessing,
  12. What are the implications for governments that Yahweh is the King of kings and Lord of lords? Rulers in this world have a responsibility to God as to the way they govern. They, as being people with power, will have to account to God one day as to how they governed. They are answerable to the greater authority of God. What are the implications of removing "God" from a nation's currency and pledges, and ardently secularizing national life? Where does that put a nation with regard to God the King? By removing
  13. What are the personal implications of Yahweh being your King and of Jesus being the Messiah sent from God? To have Yahweh as our King is to be under a royal priesthood. We are the King
  14. Read 1 Samuel 8:15 and Malachi 3:8-10. How did tithing relate to a person's acceptance of God being his or her King in the Old Testament? By giving a tenth of their flock, harvest etc to their officials, it was a form of acknowledging God & of worship to God. How about for those of us who live under the New Covenant? What place does tithing have for us? We are to give 10% {our tithe} of our income to God. The very first thing we should do when we get our income before we work out our budget, is put our tithes away. This is a ministry to him & it helps in running his house, the church. We are blessed with our riches & it
