  1. All I can say of this is that the Rod of Moses- given to him by god was there for all the men to observe. The fact that they were winning when it was held high and loosing when his hands dropped had to be spiritual. and also physicall. God was handeling the battle results and also when it was held High more of the men could see/observe it above them. and it took team work not just Moses but it took 2 men besides Moses to hold his hands up So god made them work together to assure the battle was won. God in the long run affected the battle to be won ... but he had certain critera that he wanted to happen. Today I would consider God's word in our hands or mouth's being spoken as a banner of God. We cannot win the battle on our own we must pray and get close to God but we also need our church and christian frineds to help us to succeed and keep the banner of God's presence showing in our lives and in our communities. Witnessing and bringing God's word and the reality of his banner word to those around us to win the battle in our own families and communities.
  2. Jesus did not ask God the Father to send the legions of Angles to him to assist him or help because then the Scriptures or revelation of how the world would recieve a savior and it would be Jesus God's son would not be fulfilled. Jesus had to die , had to face all this tortuer and suffering alone and then arise after giving his life. That was the Father God's pland and he wanted to cooperate and bring this plan to fullness. In Revelations it reveals that Jesus has all the legions of angles and whomever he asks for at his disposal to fight and rule. But God was planning that since we do not have the where with all to save ourselves he had to have his Son Jesus die and fulfill the punishment that is death Sin was meant to bring death only Jesus took on death and died and rose again and paid for sin past present and future...... But had he taken help and refused to die or put off death the plan of God the Father would not have been fulfilled at the fullenss of time when God had wanted it.
  3. Elisha's servent was afraid because he could only see the physical world and did not at the time have spiritual eyes or a sense that God's dimension existed. Elisha had to pray and ask God to reveal the spiritual reality to the servant. Elisha had the faith to have God open his eyes before this time and could see God's dimension the servant had not faith yet so God revealed and this revelation helped his belief the diffrence was Elisha had faith and knew God already. In 1John 4:4 the Scriptures reveal that when God is in us . His strength and power are greater than any power around us. it reveals that with God as our savior and Lord that all the starts within us with God's presence can over come anything we face here in the earthly diamension of life. So we if we do not believe or are in fear need only to ask God in to be our savior or if we have already ask him to increase our faith and belief and to show us how he can help us over come whatever. \ I find this believeable but I tend to be in the fearfull minority and have to ask God every time to increase my faith and show me how I can overcome.
  4. Becaues "The Commander" was God or Jesus. in the form we could see... He was on neither side of the war on earth. Joshua had to be on God's Side. I imagine Joshua was quite shaken though encouraged by this encounter. It is not or was not every day that someone experienced the presence of God whatever form that presence of God took so shaken yet strengthened . Joshua was going to battle and was nerveous and unsure I think and now that the presence of God had assurred him the God was his Strength and the battle was won due to Joshua's being on God's side and being Joshua's heart was with God and he was obedient to God. After this experience I feel Joshua still prepared and still had his physicl nerveousness but in Joshua's heart and soul he was strengthened and knew that God would give him victory.
  5. From what I read in II Cor. 3:18 We or I see the God of Glory, or the glory of God the Creator and mastor as thru a looking glass. not seeing him face to face for no one can see God and live we see him reflected in the Word as we read it , reflected in good practicing Christians and thru their counsel . Reflected in nature and reflected in the things we experience. That the God of Glory is near and we can't fully experience him yet but in the future can look forward to seeing him in full but we take what we see reflected in all the ways He / God is reflected to us and take comfort and strength and joy from these reflections and praise and honor God for these ways we see him and experience him reflected into our beings our souls our spirits.
  6. The phrase " High and Lofty One " implies to me that God is above or in some realm or other phase of existance but that he controlls and is above me, and people. others and myself need to know he is aware all the time of what we do and how we behave and all He is lofty, high and eternal. what we do is now but it will effect how we are seen in the eternal plain of things. so when I mess up , sin etc he knows and well forgiveness needs to be asked for .... Yes he died and we are forgiven but now after salvation if we mess up it affects our relationship with him if not with others so I need to keep in mind he is high and lofty and aware all seeing. and keep my relationship with him in place. Also be aware to communicate to him that I know he's there and what he controlls and that He is loved and appricated etc....
  7. To me God Most High places God as a force over me ... or as the force in existance that controlls what I do and what happens to me. If I am well it is he who keeps me well or heals me from sickness. If I have money and clothes ( like the birds of the field ) it is he that controlls this. I have been experiencing this lately. I needed a winter coat and recieved two lately from a friend they are very good coats and they and like church coats one cloth and one leather. Free and I recieved a job as I had none just part time but it met my needs so far plus gives me a little extra. I recieved these from friends but attribute it to God most high. Yes I will place praise for God most High into my prayer and praise in church songs and in my personal prayer . Useing it as a reference to God . who controlls my life force and my being and my spirit.
  8. Both Abraham and Melchizedek believe in common 1 . God is creator of everything on earth that we see and that we don't see 2. God controlls what goes on on the earth he delivers them from their enemies and controlls riches that they recieve and their crops and cattle if they live and die for that was thier riches and their crops and all. 3. God was holy above all to be adored , praised, and obeyed 4. healer and deliver... he controlls if they are well or sice , if they win or loose delivers from sickness and enemies.
  9. JUSTICE-The quality of being just, fairness; The principle of moral rightness in action or attitude righteousness.;Upholding what is just : ie fair treatment. VENGEANCE - Infliction of punishment for a wrong committed. retrebution. MERCY - Compassionate treatment; A disposition to be kind; something for which to be thankful A blessing; Alleviation of distress; relief. A Holy and righteours God; did forgive sins as his Son died on the cross. And from that one act so I believe God forgave sins from Creation to the time of the Crucifiction as well as future sins of those who will accept the fact that they are sinners and ask for Salvation thru Jesus's crucifiction. It is mercy to us that this Holy and righteous God forgave or forgives us! We do not deserve this and all but it is a free gift to us from God's Mercy. Now- If we continue to sin as we do we need to ask Jesus to forgive us as it puts us in a place now after we are saved and sin we separate ourselves from the fellowship of God and he will have to punish us in some way to get us back to himself. Back into fellowship here and now. Yes our sins are forgiven and we cannot loose this salvation ( in my opinion) but yes if I sin especially in breaking one of the commandments he will come after us and keep hounding us till we repent and come before him and correct our way. So yes he forgives all our sins but if we choose sin again he can send things that make us think and spank us and make us want to fellowship with Him again without sin in between. I hope you can see where I am comeing from.....
  10. If truth and morality are relative to my culture- unless there is some rightness in that culture it may be very difficult to understand the righteous and upright God. What we have to do is to find in our culture of the culture we are working with the best morl and good things that there is in that curlture and then explain that the Righteous and Upright God is way better than these good things. We have to do it as a comparison and elevate the righteousness of God and uprightness of God to a level way surpassing what is good in that culture. I am not a present day evangelist but if I were working in my home town and with the children of this area... I would have a very difficult task. Especially since there is a division of moral's just in diffrent homes. To show this to the children in our chruch I would take for example how good and righteous someone in their family that they love is and say God is way way more loveing and good than that person. To a child that comes to our church on wed. night (kids club ) mostly children of families whom send them to summer bible school. and the families welcome a once a week re touch with our chruch to send the children wed. night. but not on sunday for they cannot see comeing themselves. It is harder. but can be done by finding someone in their lives who is moral and good ie: teacher , auent, grandma someone who does things right enough that they don't see alot of negative evil behavior in their lives and then say well God is even better way way better and kinder and good than this person. And I will have to admit that sometimes the families are so bad and no role models that it might be necessary to find some one in the news locally that has demonstrated goodness and moral character in helping others and then elevate the goodness and righteousness of God as way way better than this person. I would hate to have to do it but with some cultures or children you may have to make a comparison to sweets being good and God being way way better. And with a culture that is bad like canableism - or in a city where drug and alcoholic behavior is really rampant. The only way would be to find like a social worker or someone who comes into the area and does good like a doctor or person that drills a well for water what ever and tell them that God is way way better and careing and righteous or good than that person ..... like thousands and millions times better more righteous and moral than them.
  11. In my opinion a realization of God's holiness affects Isaiah by causeing fear in his heart and being. As most old testament believers in God knew that you could not see God and live. and he had most likely heard that the High priests in the temple if not clean before God died if they entered Gods presence in the holy of holy's . God hid moses from seeing Him in a clef of a rock/ and Here he was aware of the Bad of his sin and the Goodness of God and he felt he was in danger of death to behold God or be in God's presence. God sends his angle to take a hot stone or cole from the fire and cause it to touch the lips of Isaiah The cole represented in those days ( heaping coles on one's head represented making good come of badness or evil.) so the cole was a symbol of God making his evil lips and words burnt away and making him pure again. So God made him holy- as set apart to be of service . And Isiaha replied to god by volunteering to be sent to do God's bidding ... to be used of God in some service or task.
