  1. So Sorry, I have dublicated myself. I couldn't see my first post, so added another.
  2. I feel that Righteous anger, can be Right if it is aimed at a sin , It can bring about Justice. Jesus was angry in the Temple, with the money changers. But it becomes a sin, When it gets out of control, and it is aimed at someone. and that person is hurt, both physically and mentally.
  3. Jesus Took My Sin and died on the cross For me. He loved us so much, that he bore all The pain that was lavished on him, he said not a word. Thank you Jesus.
  4. There is righteouse Anger, like the anger of Jesus in the temple. If a sin is committed against someone, they can be right to get angry, as long as they do not lose control. To lose control is a sin, as it can lead to hurting someone even lead to murder.
  5. When John saw Jesus, he knew instantly, that Jesus was the Son of God. He also knew that the son of man would be slaughtered. That Jesus would be killed to save the world.and to die for the sins of the world. That is why he called him the lamb of God, Lambs were killed for sacrifice, through the ages.
  6. I am Brendamay,I am a pensioner I was married to a farmer, He passed away oct 16th 07. I have been doing Gideon Disciple Lessons from the Bronze age. But thought that I would Join this one as well.
  7. I am a retired Farmers wife, We kept Cows and stock, we raised the calfs to a certain age, then sold them on as stores. Then they would be fattened up then slaugtered for meat. I am glad that we didn't keep them to the end, as we looked after them and made sure there lives were full. They spent there days in the fields, coming in only for the winter. But we did have Cockerals, which we raised for the Christmas Dinner. My husband killed them quickly, and My Mother in law and myself plucked them, and dressed them for the table. I didn't like the job, but it had to be done. That was a long time ago now, I do not think it is practised anymore as it is all done in the factory. I do not think I could do it today.I feel that it is sinful to waste a life of an animal. by this I mean to cook, for food, then throw away without eating it. I do feel repulsed at the thought of sacrifice. I agree with a previous post. That God wants us to be a living sacrifice. and Daily follow him.
  8. Gideon told them I will not be your Ruler, nor will be my son. He told them, the Lord will be your ruler.
  9. As a reward, Gideon asked each of them, to give him the earrings that was taken from the midianites. He did not ask for any of the other things that were taken. The sin was, he melted down the gold, and made an Idol of it, and placed it in his home town Ophrah. All the Israelites abandoned god, and went there to worship the Idol.
  10. God Felt that they might think that they had won the war themselves in there own strength, instead of giving the credit to God. So God told Gideon to announce to the men, that If you are afraid, then you must go home. Twenty two thousand went back, Ten Thousand stayed. and with Gods help they won the fight with the midenites.
  11. I cannot find what the significance was, or was there a reason ?, Perhaps God was reducing the numbers. so that everyone would know that it was God that helped win the battle against the Midenites.
  12. The spirit of the lord took control of Gideon, and he blew the trumpet to call the men of the clan of Abiezer to follow him. and he became leader. so that he was able to deliver his people.
  13. God saw in Gideon, a brave and mighty warrior. Gideon, saw himself as someone least important in his family. so Gods perseption of Gideon was accurate.
  14. God himself gave us that commandment, to Honour our Father and Mother, But he also wants us to obey him, So when Gideon obeyed God, Joash Wasn't cross with Gideon, he stood up for him. To Honour God before our Father and Mother, dose not take away the Honour for our Parents. Gideon Honoured God first. but Joash understood this commandment. and he supported Gideon. It is the same for us. we love and honour our Mother and father, But we must honour God first.
  15. We are not infalable, so yes we are disobedient to God, but not because we go out to be disobedient, it just happens. Yes Gideon did have a choice. but he was scared of his choice, so he went out at night, so that he would not be seen. he was afraid what his Father would say or do to him. We all can choose to do something , or not to do something. that is our Choice. But Gideon obeyed God, and chose to do what god had asked him to do.
  16. Gideons Father Joash, was not a very strong leader, But after he was confronted by the people of the Town, accusing his Son Gideon of Tearing down his Altar to baal then taking the second bull and burning it whole as an offering using for firewood, the symbol of Asherah. they said to Joash bring your son here so we can kill him.Joash became strong and stood by his son, he said let Baal defend himself. It is his Altar that was pulled down.
  17. God helped them, he bought them out of slavery, he rescued them from the Egyptians, and all the people that were against them in that land, He told them that they must not worship the false gods of the Amorites in land they were then living in. As he was the only God. They didn't listen to him. They broke the very first commandment
  18. We must always forgive, we cannot go to God and take his Gift with anger in our heart, as This is a Sin also. sometimes it is difficult, as we might still feel very hurt at what our Brother/Sister meted out to us, but for our own peace of mind, also because this is what we have been commanded to do by Jesus. It is right that we go to our Brother/sister and forgive him/her, also it is right that we also go to our Brother/sister for forgiveness. So that all is well between us, then we can go and take our gift to God, With Peace in our heart.
  19. Jesus is Telling us to settle out of court, because he Loves us all, If we do as he tells us, and we settle out of court, We will not have to go to jail, and spend a long time there. As it would then be too late then we would find it difficult to pay the last penny. We should always pay our way, then we wouldn't be faced with these concequences. also we should be just and fair with all our fellowmen at all times.
  20. Gideon Blames God, for all there problems, Gideon asks Why God, who had led them out of Egypt had abandoned them, and had left them to the mercy of the Midianites. He couldn't see that God wanted him to go and rescue Israel. Gideon did not have the confidence in himself. he didn,t think that he was strong enough to drive out the Midianites, he didn't think that he was worthy enough to be responsible in leading the clan. He forgot that it was in Gods Strength that he would be able to fight and win. We are just like Gideon at times, we also forget, that we have to trust God completely, to realise that we cannot do things in our own strength, we need to put our own fights and strife into Gods hands. We blame God because we do not want to face that it is our own fault for not puttin our trust in him.We cannot do anything without God But we try to believe that we can do it all ourselves, then when it all gose wrong, we blame God.
  21. As I understand it, The Rolling barley Loaf was the Sword of Gideon son of Joash, The dream was to tell Gideon That God had Given him victory over the Midianites.
