  2. Q2. (Colossians 1:20-22) By what means did Jesus accomplish this reconciliation? What does

  4. Q3. (Colossians 1:16) "Thrones," "powers," "rulers," "principalities," "authorities," etc. probably refer to both earthly as well as angelic and demonic dominions. What does this passage teach about the relation of these powers to Jesus? How should this affect our fear of them? How should it affect our prayers? Jesus made everything. Therefore, He has dominion over these things. When we pray, one of the things that we should include in our prayers is the request to be guided by the Spirit of God, so that the demonic dominions can't get a hold of us.
  5. Q1. (Colossians 1:15a, 19) The great understanding of Judaism was that God is spirit, not physical. That he is invisible. Any idol that tries to depict him is blasphemous. So what is the significance of the statement that Jesus is
  6. Q5. (Colossians 1:13-14) What are the two qualities mentioned in verse 14 that characterize the
  7. Q4. (Colossians 1:12-13) What are the three or four action verbs in verses 12 and 13 that paint a picture of salvation? Who performs the action? Who is it performed on? In what way were we qualified/enabled/made meet? In what way were we rescued or delivered? Qualified, delivered, conveyed. Jesus. Saints. Jesus' blood that was shed for us, and forgiveness that we received for our sins. Glory to God! This is NOT as good as it gets, but it is a really good start!!!!!!
  8. Q3. (Colossians 1:12-13) Why does Paul use the terms darkness and light to portray his readers past and future? Why does he remind them where they came from? What is
  9. Q1. (Colossians 1:5-6) Paul glorifies the gospel, the good news. What words does he use to describe the action of the gospel in verses 5 and 6? Given the temptation the recipients have to adopt another religious philosophy, why do you think he reminds them of the world scope of the gospel
  10. Q5. Why should Christians look forward to the events surrounding our resurrection? Why do you think Christians have largely lost this as their active expectation and hope? What should be done to reclaim these truths? I know for me, I look forward to my resurrection for many reasons! I have loved ones that are already with Jesus, and I want to be with Jesus. Also, I can't wait to hear preachers that have gone on preach or teach-whichever better than they did here. These are just a few of the reasons, for me. I think there are some Christians who, like the Sadducees, don't believe in the resurrection. And some Christians are lost in their own lives for whatever reason, and they aren't concerned about their spiritual condition. And then again there are those Chritians who think that they have plenty of time to "sow wild oats" and then get saved. We need pastors and evangelists who are not afraid to preach the truth! Right now in this country, there are preachers that are under the gun because they preach the truth about heaven and hell, and they are in trouble! Please pray for, and encourage these ones that have the courage to tell the truth! Stand with them as they proclaim the wonderous majesty of Jesus, and what He did to deliver us from death and hell, and always be ready, for in such an hour as ye think not, the Son of man cometh! Come Lord Jesus!!!!
  11. Q4. What will our resurrection bodies be like? Why do you think we will be given resurrection bodies? What is the point? Our bodies will be incorruptible, glorious, powerful, and spiritual. I think that we have to receive bodies that will be able to live in eternity-bodies that won't die. Also, I think that we need to have bodies that are totally incorruptible-we will no longer have to confess sin, because we won't be sinning! That is exciting! We will be in a place where everything is going to be different, and our bodies will be able to accept this new world. I'm excited about it, and I hope that I will be able to do the things that I'm really interested in, although I don't have any idea how it will be organized, I'm still excited about it!
  12. Q3. What does the phrase "redemption of our bodies"(Romans 8:23-24) tell us about our resurrection? What words in 1 Corinthians 15:42-44 describe our resurrection bodies? It tells us that our bodies will be changed from corruptible to incorruptible. Incorruption,Glory,Power, spiritual! Glory to God!!!!
  13. Q2. (Philippians 1:23-24; 2 Corinthians 5:8) According to these verses, where will Christians be immediately after death? Where do we await the resurrection? When we die, we go to be with Jesus. And, just like Jesus, we wait for the rest of the believers to come where we are!
  14. Q1. What is the word used in the Bible instead of "rapture"? When will the resurrection take place in relation to Christ's return? In relation to judgment? In relation to glory? (This is NOT the place to debate various theories of the rapture and the millennium.) Resurrection is used, instead of rapture. Those that have died in Christ will rise 1st-then we who are still alive will rise. Judgement for those in Christ will happen after the resurrection. After we are judged, then we will enter into the joy of the Lord!
  15. Q5. (1 Corinthians 15:58) What does being steadfast and immovable have to do with the hope of the resurrection? Why is our labor not in vain in the Lord? No matter how insignificant our life and work seem to be-no matter how people mistreat us because of our faith-we know that God is in control, and everything will work out fine! They can kill our bodies, but they can't kill our spirits! We belong to God, through Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior! Got to go shout! Bye!!!!
  16. Q4. What assurance do you have that you will be physically resurrected rather than experience disembodied immortality? What does it mean that Jesus is the "firstfruits" (1 Corinthians 15:20) and "firstborn" (Revelation 1:5) from the dead? Because the Word says that we will be like Jesus and since we were buried in baptizm, we will be raised like Him in newness of life. It means that Jesus is the example-the "first one"-to be resurrected from the dead, and we all will be raised just like He was!
  17. Q3. How does Christ's death and resurrection provide an analogy for baptism according to Romans 6:3-5 and Colossians 2:12? According to Ephesians 2:4-6, while being "raised with Christ" is still spiritual, not physical, in what way does this union impart real spiritual power? When we go into the water, we are buried with Him in death. When we come out of the water, we are resurrected with Him in life. We now have the power to rise up and sit in heavenly places with Christ. This means that we now are in His presence and we also have an intimate relationship with God!
  18. Q2. In what way does Christ's resurrection somehow validate that we are saved and forgiven by God? If we didn't believe Christ had been actually raised from the dead, how might we have doubts about our salvation? Since Jesus was risen from the dead, that means that we will be risen as well. We are joint heirs with Christ, and as such, are entitled to the same benefits as He is! He died so that we can be with Him, and like Him! Glory to God! No resurrection= Christ didn't rise preaching in vain faith in vain false witnesses God forbid!
  19. Q1. What kind of credibility would Jesus' ministry have had if he were not raised from the dead, especially when he predicted it ahead of time? In what way is the resurrection God's seal of approval on him? Jesus' resurrection was proof positive that He was who He said that He was, and that all His promises would come to pass. What is the test for a prophet? If his prophecy comes to pass, he's real-if his word doesn't come to pass, he's a fake. Jesus is no fake! Everything He said would happen-happened! Glory!
  20. Q4. Which of the various proofs for the resurrection seems the most compelling to you? Why? If you had a friend who wasn't sure about the resurrection, could you explain why you're sure that Jesus was raised from the dead? The fact that so many were martyred for believing in the resurrection is the most compelling to me. Someone once told me that I was wasting my time believing in Jesus-I was going to hell, regardless of my faith. I responded by saying that if I die and go to hell, I will go praising God all the way! It had the desired effect! I don't know if that is even possible-I doubt it. But, it caused the person to stop and think about what they were saying, and that is ok! If someone wanted me to explain my faith in the resurrection, I would tell them that people all over the world are dying for their faith. Also, I would show them in the word of God about Thomas and how he doubted until Jesus Himself showed Thomas the spots where the nails had been, and where Jesus had been cut-all those marks where visible. If we can't believe the Word, what's the use? We can-Glory to God!!!!
  21. Q3. How does the disciples' psychological state after the crucifixion provide excellent support for belief in the resurrection? The disciples were totally dejected to the point of despondance because they knew that Jesus was dead-they saw His dead body. And because they didn't believe in His resurrection, they were assuming that the women didn't know what they were talking about. Only when they saw Him with their own eyes, could they believe that He had been resurrected.
