Q2. (2 Kings 6:13-17) Why was Elisha's servant afraid? What was the difference between Elisha and his servant? What does it take for our eyes to be opened? How can 1 John 4:4 strengthen you in your spiritual battle?
Elishas servant was afraid because he only saw the physical aspect in other words what is seen only.
He did not have faith in God as Elisha did. if he could be having a stronger faith He Could have seen the hills full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha" (2 Kings 6:15-17). (Without elisha praying for him so that God could open His eyes for him to see)
and hence he would be bold for he would have known the battle was not his but the Lord's.
The Diffrence between Him and Elisha was that Elisha walked well with God and He had faith that God would deliver Him from His enemies, that faith opened His eyes and made him see the Great army of the Lord of Hosts Hence He was not terrified.
Having faith in God helps us to have our eyes opened for the bible tells us that faith is the substance for things which are not seen.
1john 4:4
It strenghtens me by giving me assuarance in that it Helps me to understand that God is inside of me & with me ,so my battles are no longer mine alone but God's and He will fight for me for He is the Lord of Hosts.
